Due to business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Sector / Senior Project Manager to lead our Water / Wastewater Team.

Working as the Sector / Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for delivering projects for our two major water customers in the South.

As the Sector / Senior Project Manager you will be part of our leadership team, contributing to the strategic growth of the business unit.


DUTIES

Your duties as the Sector / Senior Project Manager include:

• Line management for the Engineers and Project Managers within the team covering support and welfare, appraisals, reviews, and disciplinary matters

• Take the lead in ensuring your team continues to develop their skills in line with business goals

• Direct involvement in the recruitment of new Engineers and Project Managers

• Responsible for promoting a health, safety, and environmental conscious culture, and driving SHEQ system and standards improvements for the sector as well as ensuring policies and procedures are always adhered to by the team

• Manage team absences to ensure constant and sufficient cover and assist with providing cover for the Business Unit Manager or other sector Managers when required

• Coordination of resource within the team to maintain the required level of support for the Project Managers, and resolution of issues of work priority

• Work as part of the BU Leadership Team to ensure continued development and smooth operation of the BU. Assist the BU Manager with the yearly budget, shared strategic plan, and success planning

• Prepare and present project reviews and evaluations (exchange value analysis) to Actemium management

• Work alongside other Project Mangers to develop existing client relationships and identify future requirements on site(s)

• Personally visit customer site(s) as and when required

Specialism

• Perform the role of lead advisor to the business for the sector, review and manage internal standards and procedures, along with monitoring national and international standards to ensure business standards and procedures remain current

• Responsible for developing the customer base within the water/wastewater sector, while maintaining our existing customer and supplier accounts

• Contribute to all aspects of sales activity for the sector, covering order bank management, customer management and future system development, surveying, and quoting

• Responsible for project delivery within the sector, ensuring all projects follow the full project lifecycle, are fully tested, delivered on time, to budget and agreed specification/standards, and reviewed for continuous improvement

• Demonstrate commercial awareness in the water/wastewater sector, by examining, negotiating, and overseeing contracts with both customers and subcontractors


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• High levels of experience in system integration

• High level of understanding of the full project life cycle, with demonstrable experience

• Demonstrate commercial experience gained to the water / wastewater sector

• You must have awareness of delivering PLC / SCADA projects in the water / wastewater sector

• Understanding of when to utilise the support of colleagues and suppliers to support quoting activities

• You must be proficient in subcontract management

• Demonstrated ability in the leadership of teams

The Opportunity

As the Business Information Security Officer you will provide technical oversight and leadership in the assessment of Cyber risks to ensure the safe, reliable and ongoing operations of our nuclear power stations.

You’ll be the technical controlling mind in assessing the impact of potential cyber events and prioritising EDF Nuclear Operations activities and ensure the business is ready and able to identify, manage and recover from such events on behalf of the Licensee and Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO).

This position is based out of Gloucester Business Park, working to hybrid model with a mix of home and office working. Some travel will be required to other locations.

What you’ll be doing

Within this role, you will:


- Develop and implement a business cyber strategy as agreed by the SIRO.
- Support and create the implementation of security policies, standards, guidelines and processes and monitoring compliance against these requirements. If necessary, identify remedial actions where there is underperformance to mitigate risk.
- Be responsible for the risk framework within Nuclear Operations according to the business risk appetite and work collaboratively with Operational Technology and IT risk owners; ensuring that the reporting of risk and management is in accordance with the cyber risk management framework.
- Report KPI and risk indicators for escalation to the SIRO and EDF UK CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) to demonstrate effective controls and governance of the cyber security arrangements.
- Provide regulatory reporting for cyber security and as needed, engagement with relevant regulators stakeholders such as Ofgem, DESNZ, ONR.
- Embed the compliance regime with respect to applicable regulations and industry standards.
- Assess and manage the improvement of security posture and control coverage and maturity.
- Work with NISO (Nuclear Information Security Officer) EDF UK CISO and other BISOs to improve overall security posture of EDF UK collaboratively and consistently drive business outcomes across the group.
- Provide oversight for Information & Cyber Security controls delivered in functional teams.
- Actively promote secuiry awareness to embed a strong cyber secuirty culture in Nuclear Operations.


Who you are

You will have a solid understanding of information and cyber security risk principles coupled with strong business acumen and effective leadership skills underpinned by excellent written and oral communication.

You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to empower and engage people at all levels, including senior stakeholders (Board, CISO), with senior leadership experience in cyber security management and/ or GRC management including proven experience of successfully leading, high performing teams.

You will be technically competent with an ability to influence senior leaders and internal stakeholders with excellent knowledge of risk assurance, industry security standards and frameworks, technical security principles, and risk management frameworks. Detailed knowledge of the Nuclear Operations Risk Management System and Processes is also key.

You’ll possess knowledge and experience of relevant regulations and policy including Nuclear Industries Security Regulations (NISR 2003) and Data Protection Act (2018) and knowledge of Industry Standard cyber security management frameworks such as NIST and CAF.

Your personal strengths will be action orientated with a driven mentality; a problem solver with the ability to assimilate rapidly pertinent information from a variety of sources (written and spoken) and recommend/direct clear courses of action. Your experience of external stakeholder management and engagement at senior level with Government, regulators and other governmental agencies will be crucial to the role and experience in delivering projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment, ideally within the Nuclear or energy sector or similar regulated environment.

As a minimum you will have a HNC qualification and a degree in a relevant subject is advantageous. SC level vetting is a requirement for this position.

- Engineering and Operations to join our team based at HMNB Portsmouth on a hybrid basis. Main Accountabilities:
Engineering & Operational Workstream Management:

- Ensure timely reporting and escalation of issues to the SEAMS IT Transition Programme Manager aligned with the programme processes.
- Facilitate the integration of multiple workstreams to ensure cohesive project delivery and compliance.
- Ensure the delivery is aligned to the contractual and business requirements.


Documentation and Reporting:


- Maintain and manage all workstream/programme documentation, including RAID logs, lessons learned, stakeholder register, communications plan nd reports.

Stakeholder Engagement and Management:



- Engage with key stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure their requirements are met.
- Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings and provide updates on project progress.


Process Improvement and Innovation:



- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the operational engineering and business process workstreams.
- Implement innovative solutions to enhance project delivery and operational efficiency.

What you’ll need to do the role:



- Based in Portsmouth area and visit the office area 2 to 3 days per week.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
- Previous experience in asset management and resource scheduling in a digital world are desirable.
- Experience in a unionised environment is also desirable.
- Microsoft Visio or equivalent process mapping tool/ Power BI experience is desirable.

Project Team Background

The SIO team manage and deliver Duplication and Dispatch services for all data products handled and processed through the Software Issuing Office (SIO) organisation, tracking the dispatch and receipt of SIO products utilising the SIO database to ensure it reflects the current delivery status of each item issued.
They oversee all aspects of receipt, dispatch and tracking of all SIO information, providing reports on any irregularities - such as lost items or non-receipted items, provide reports to the Unit Security Officer (USO) of all non-receipted and unaccountable data products whilst assisting with any subsequent investigations.
Until recently the outputs for this service were managed by a Civil Service representative, however since a decision has been taken for Carbon60 to resource and manage the full capability generating a new Team Leader role.
