An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Quality, Service Improvement and Sustainability (QSIS) team for twoDigital & Transformation Project Managersfor a fixed term period of 12 months (maternity cover).
We are looking for organised, enthusiastic individuals who are self-motivated but also enjoy working in a team. In addition to project management skills they will need to be able to deliver change, lead through influence and rethink established practice.
The role ofDigital & Transformation Project Managersrequires proven experience of managing major digital/transformational change projects to a successful conclusion, including realising objectives and benefits delivery within the project deadline and costs.
The Digital & Transformation Project Manager is directly responsible for the management and delivery of specific cross-cutting projects that form part of the Trusts Excellence Programme.
The post holder is responsible for ensuring that each cross-cutting project is managed using the Trusts’ project and programme management framework to deliver successful outputs, outcomes and realisable benefits on time and within budget.
This will involve setting project objectives, determining project scope and deliverables, developing a robust project plan, risks and issues management, and monitoring and reporting arrangements.
The post will be based at the Moorfields Eye Hospital Old Street site, but the post-holder will be expected to work across all sites as their projects require.
The successful candidates can expect to be leading on the Surgical Excellence Programme and the Federated Data Platform programme respectively. However, this may change to reflect any change in organisational priority or strategic direction.

· Identify, initiate and co-ordinate appropriate project proposals to improve operational performance and improve clinical service delivery.
· Ensure that project objectives, scope, deliverables, critical success factors and risks are clearly documented and agreed prior to project start.
· Establish a project team with appropriate operational, clinical and corporate team membership. Co-ordinate the input of stakeholders and service users to ensure that appropriate options are appraised and delivered.
· Perform benefits analysis and baseline current system performance before each project starts and ensure there is a plan in place for handover to the operational and clinical leads.
· Preparation and maintenance of all project documentation, including (but not limited to): project brief, project initiation document, appraisal options, risks, issues, decisions, lessons learned and actions logs, high level and detailed project plans, highlight reports, Project Board reports and papers and contribution to Excellence Delivery Unit (XDU) Programme Board reports and papers.
· Ensure all project documentation and reports are prepared and delivered as specified in the project communications plan and in line with agreed reporting schedules.
· Set-up and lead project team meetings, involving stakeholders and project team members. Responsible for controlling, directing, planning and allocating work and motivating service users to get directly, or indirectly involved with the project and its development.
· Manage the implementation costs and resources allocated to the project.
· Co-ordinate the activity of project team members and contributors ensuring that tasks and work packages are completed satisfactorily and on schedule.
· Regularly report on progress, monitoring progress against plan, delivery of the project objectives, and post project review including updating the lessons learned and decision logs.
· Undertake any additional duties appropriate to the post, as may be required by the service and as delegated by the Director for Service Improvement.
COMMUNICATIONS
· Provide advice and guidance to staff and managers across the Trust in relation to change, act as an advocate and champion for digital transformation.
· Develop and maintain strong working relationships with a number of operational, clinical and corporate management teams including developing good knowledge of the overall programme aims, objectives and initiatives so as to provide meaningful expert advice.
· Provide advice and guidance to staff and managers across the Trust in relation to change.
· Represent the Trust to contractors, suppliers and providers in furtherance of project objectives.
· The post holder will be required to communicate and engage constructively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders on a range of highly complex, specialist and often contentious issues.
