SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

Tier 1 Contractor - Water & Wastewater - Thames Water Framework

What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Manager to join a Top Tier Contractor who are delivering vital improvement works to the Thames Water Framework.

As a Senior Project Manager you will be managing a portfolio of work, with up to four site-based Project Managers reporting into you.

Each project could be up to value £20m.

Ensure a safe working environment.

• Managing a portfolio of work.
• Create and build a team with the right culture and attitude.

• Ensure that the principles of CDM are applied and relevant legislation is complied with.
• Embed a F.R.E.D.I.E Culture.
• Engage with the designer to ensure a safe, buildable and timely design is achieved within the detailed design phase to allow efficient delivery of the scheme.
• Plan, prepare and facilitate collaborative workshops as and when required.
• Interview select and onboard staff in line with the resource profile for the Scheme.
• With the support of the Commercial Team ensure the selection of the best Supply Chain partners.
• Ensure all pre-commencement and regulatory requirements are discharged prior to work commencing.
• Plan and prepare for delivery of the Scheme throughout the project lifecycle.
• Appoint a Temporary Works Coordinator and ensure all Temporary Works requirements are understood and designed in a timely manner.
• Plan, prepare and oversee the establishment of the site offices and compound.
• Champion the use of innovative technologies and techniques.
• Take ownership of risk & opportunities in conjunction with the Risk Manager.
• Lead the Commercial Team to manage costs, and maximise cash flow and profitability, capturing any changes in scope.
• Ensure any incidents/accidents are thoroughly investigated, closed out and learnings implemented.
• Take ownership for the delivery and quality of work to the required standards.
• Manage the Construction Teams and Supply Chain partners to ensure delivery of the Scheme in line with the agreed Budget, Programme and Scope.
• Ensure adequate resource to fulfil the programme including the demobilisation and redeployment of the team at the end of the project.
• Engage with the Performance Team to ensure all CPF/BSC scoring is completed and evidenced.
• Ensure all internal and external reporting is completed as required.
• Manage, monitor and review direct reports and team performances, providing encouragement and discipline as and when required.

• Relevant CSCS card.
• Office 365 expertise.
• Prince 2 or APM.
• HNC/Degree.
• Strong knowledge of CDM 15.
• Excellent knowledge of NEC/IChemE and commercially astute.

What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join a Tier 1 Contractors delivery team which is working on behalf of Thames Water.

The candidate will ideally be based in around the Thames Water area and will be required to travel across multiple sites/projects in the region.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Assuming responsibility for the management of project delivery outputs including programme, financial position, health safety, environmental performance and progress for all allocated schemes

• The ability to interact in a professional manner with senior representatives of our clients
• To have a good understanding of NEC contract conditions and an astute commercial awareness
• Responsible for the day-to-day management of multiple concurrent projects to ensure the successful delivery of the project against the project KPI's and PI's
• Ensuring that all projects are delivered in accordance with current Health & Safety regulations, including CDM regulations, & Environmental legislation
• Review/assessment of in-house/subcontractor RAMS, Process Impact Assessments and Environmental legislation
• To ensure compliance with all company safety, environmental and quality systems
• Liaise with client's staff to ensure KPI's are met or exceeded within budget constraints

• To assist the Delivery Manager with the development of the direct labour resources

Experience and Qualifications:

• An industry applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or another relevant subject matter.
• H&S qualifications (desirable)
• IOSH or CITB 5 Day Site Safety Management (SMSTS)

• Demonstrable experience of working within the water and / or sewage industries
• Experience with cross country pipelines, tunnels, Pumping stations and service reservoirs

We are seeking a senior or project QS for an expanding well respected main contractor based on site ASAP, the project is design and build with £29 million steel frame Project with offices , industrial and a nest 5 storey steel frame car park across the expansive site over a 42 week period .

The project needs an experienced project QS to work with the existing team initially to assist on procurement of sub contact packages and collating information on the live and final accounts of sub-contractors and deal with the day to day surveying on the project throughout

The project initially needs someone to deal with the procurement as the flagship schemes is built on a fast-track program

Not only is this an exciting project but ongoing opportunities exist for a QS looking to prove their ability to work or an up and coming and financially sound contractor with real progression opportunities

Reporting to the MQS and working with the Project Manager and with the full support of the growing team to ensure success on site you will have a number of packages to deal with across the site procure including civils , structures , fit out and services and the opportunity to go on and run them and procure and final account various others as the scheme progresses

Ideally candidate will have experience of full cycle surveying on site and with both build and Civils elements in the past on site working with the project manager to successfully deliver the scheme with head office support throughout.

Preferable is a professional quantity surveying qualification HNC/ ONC/ BSC and with at least 3 years live site experience
