ABOUT THE POST

Reporting to the Security Coordinator you will be involved in the provision of security services at our busy campuses at Holloway & Aldgate, working within a team of 10 Security Officers and 4 Security Shift Supervisors. Key duties of the role also include the monitoring of Health & Safety, Fire Safety and Emergency procedures, and the provision of first aid support to building users. The role can be physically demanding as you will be required to carry out regular patrols and health & safety compliance checks.

The security team covers all building opening times, which currently range between 06:00 to 00:30 Monday – Friday and between 07:00 – 19:30 on Saturdays and Sundays. All members of the team will be rostered to cover our building opening hours, including any subsequent changes to these hours.

You should have experience in a customer service and support role, together with a good working knowledge of operating security, CCTV, fire, intruder and access control systems. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to respond effectively in crisis situations.

You will be a qualified First Aider or be willing to train as such. You should hold an appropriate SIA license or be willing to train as such.

This is a new post within the PSG CT central team. This role will work closely with the Joint Extremism Unit (JEXU) and the Joint Counter Terrorism Prison and Probation Hub (JCTPPH). JEXU is a HMPPS and Home Office venture that was established in April 2017 to be the strategic centre for all CT work in prison and probation. The unit has oversight of operational delivery against the Prevent and Pursue strands of CONTEST. Delivery is underpinned by a specialist CT case management process (Pathfinder), which is delivered by multi-disciplinary teams. Pathfinder focuses on individuals who have been convicted of TACT or TACT connected offences and, those individuals for whom there are concerns they are engaging/ engaged with a Terrorist group, cause and or ideology. It provides end-to-end management of this group. This is the mechanism through which an offender’s risk and rehabilitative pathways are assessed and monitored in relation to the concerns of engagement with an extremist group, cause and or ideology.

The HMPPS teams work proactively at a local, regional and national level, across custody and community, with operational partners, including Police and security services, to case manage individuals, share information and intelligence and assist with active investigations. The regional teams include operational and probation colleagues. Currently Psychology do not attend the regional pathfinder meetings each month. However, after the intelligence breach (Nov 23), there has been an increasing need for appropriately cleared psychologists to provide case consultation regarding risk identification, risk reduction and risk management at the regional pathfinder meetings. This post will establish a ‘sterile corridor’ approach between ERG authors and sensitive intelligence that will ensure ERG authors have the right information at the right time to inform their assessment without compromise to the integrity of the intelligence.

1 x permanent, 35 hours per week (at RCN Scotland HQ)
5 x fixed term contracts, for 21 months, 35 hours per week
2 x fixed term contracts, for 10 months, 35 hours per week

As a Legal Officer you’ll use your positive attitude and initiative, your excellent communication, written and presentation skills, and your ability to maintain the highest professional standards whilst working within tight timescales to deliver legal advice, support and representation to RCN members in all aspects of regulatory law.

You will be a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, CILEX Fellow or CILEX Lawyer with experience in handling a large caseload of Regulatory cases.

Working within a team, you will deliver excellent customer service to our members whilst maintaining the highest professional standards ensuring that you manage your time effectively and meet all deadlines.

Job Description Security Officer
The role of the Security Officer / Controller is a dual role spending time in the Security Control Room monitoring CCTV and Mall Patrols.
You will Manage and apply Security systems to New Kirkgate.
You are Required to work Shift Patterns consisting of Days Monday to Sat 09.00 - 17.00

Duties to include but not limited to:
• Monitoring CCTV Systems
• Access Control Management to all Sites
• Site / Mall Patrols
• Opening / Closing of Sites
• Security / Health and Safety Checks and Reporting
• Fire and Intruder Alarm Monitoring
• Key Control
• Assisting Retailers in the Mall Area
• Answering phones when require

Key Responsibilities:
• To work the hours and shifts in accordance with conditions of employment.
• To monitor CCTV images of the Centre as instructed by Centre Management, Security Manager or Operations Manager.
• To carry out duties in accordance with instructions issued by Centre Management. Note: Some cleaning may be required.
• To comply fully with the Health & Safe ty Policy for the centre.
• To ensure that the requirements of the Fire regulations are strictly complied with.
• To assist with the implementation of the Centre’s Emergency Plan and Evacuation Strategy in the event of an emergency.
• To ensure that the Rules & Regulations of the Centre are complied with at all times.
• Ensure that all incidents are recorded in Incident Log.
• Ensure that contractors arriving on site adhere fully to the centre procedures for contractor management.
• Ensure that the centre is a safe and pleasant environment.
• Assist with enquiries from tenants and members the public when requested.
• To be aware of and abide by all rules, terms and conditions of the company.
• To undertake other duties i.e. helping the cleaning team by litter picking where possible
• To Comply with procedures as set out in the Site Assignment Instructions.
• In order to comply with the Security Industry Act 2001, officers must hold an CCTV SIA Public Space Surveillance Licence and where necessary a valid SIA Security Licence.
