• You will perform administrative functions in support of the Navy Information Forces Command (NAVIFOR) staff under the management of the Administrative Officer.
• You will provide administrative support within the command and domain, as assigned, and to staff members on matters associated with a variety of personnel, training, evaluations and fitness reports, and travel issues.

Once selected for this important position, you will contribute to the Agency's mission through direct and personal service to the public. The Office of Hearings Operations handles appeals that have been filed by people who have been denied Social Security, Supplemental Security Insurance (SSI), or Medicare benefits. You will provide support to Administrative Law Judges and other professional employees in processing cases filed under the Social Security Act.

Legal Assistants provide quasi legal and technical support to Administrative Law Judges and other technical and professional positions in the processing of entitlement cases pursuant to Titles II, XVI, and XVIII of the Social Security Act, as amended, at the administrative appeals level. Legal Assistants are responsible for developing and processing requests for hearing cases from their receipt in the office to completion, independently performing a wide range of case development actions, and processes more complex hearing cases where analysis of pertinent issues and interpretation of the provisions of the laws, regulations, rulings, precedents, policies, procedures and guidelines relative to the cases is necessary.

Carries supplies and equipment, such as liquors, fruits, ice, glasses, linens and silverware from storage areas to the bar. Slices and peels fruit. Fills ice bins and crushes ice. Washes and cleans bar glasses, bar equipment and keeps the work area clean and neat. Replaces empty beer kegs with full kegs with the aid of a dolly; stocks beer coolers. Wipes down the interior and exterior surfaces of coolers. Helps in setting up service bars and portable bars. Carries debris to waste containers. May serve bottle beer, soft drinks and draw beer from kegs.

Performs and/or assists in operation and maintenance of recreational facilities. Establishes schedules of events as well as the rules and regulations to be observed. Types of duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Tests water-skiing and boating equipment for safe operation; demonstrates safety and conservation techniques for campsites, water sports area, firing ranges, and hunting areas; demonstrates equipment and techniques of various outdoor activities such as camping, swimming, and boating; sets up gymnasiums and playing fields for sports events, tournaments, and practice games when such assignments require a practical knowledge of the rules and procedures of such activities (i.e., are not simply manual labor assignments); inspects outdoor recreation and sports facilities and equipment for security and general conditions; and schedules campsites, cabins, boats, and other outdoor recreation equipment and areas for use, with responsibility for seeing that they are vacated or returned in good order. Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons. Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at scheduled times and authorized persons are admitted to the area. Rescues swimmers in trouble, promptly administers first aid, and calls for medical assistance when needed. Warns swimmers of unsafe environmental or health conditions, tracks headcount(s), and enforces established pool/facility procedures. When working at pools, may operate water pumps and control chemical additives to ensure pool water meets specified standards. Ensures that diving boards, swimming equipment, and deck area inspected frequently for cracks, loose matting, debris or hazards and that necessary repairs and notification(s) are made. May perform other related or incidental duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming area to include clearing of bath houses, main pools, pool decks, etc.
