Are you ready to play a crucial role in safeguarding some of the most important assets across Scotland? As a Security Systems Service Engineer at SSE, youll be at the heart of maintaining and securing SSE infrastructure, ensuring the safety and operational continuity of SSE sites. Utilising your knowledge of security technology, youll travel across mainland Scotland and the islands, solving problems and keeping the system running smoothly. This role includes standby engineering duties across the Scottish region, so you'll need to be flexible and ready to support these arrangements. You should be comfortable working away from home when needed and must hold a valid UK driving licence. The main duties of this role include:

- Carrying out routine maintenance and responding to security system issues at SSE sites within your designated area, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

- Supporting Area Managers with smaller security installation projects, and step in to help wherever your expertise is needed.

- Identifying and troubleshoot both minor and major faults in security systems, contributing to upgrade projects where necessary.

- Collaborating with your engineering team, offering technical assistance on complex issues and resolving larger faults as they arise.

- Travelling across Scotland and the islands, including working away from home.

What do I need?

You will play an influential part in supporting the construction of the HVDC Converter Station at Peterhead, and supporting the installation on the UGC works, ensuring strict adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.

The key duties & responsibilities will include:

- Represent the SSEN Transmission business on-site and be the key site-based point of contact, this will also include interfacing with contractors, and key stakeholders at site.

- Ensure all site operations align with statutory, legal, and companys Health and Safety regulations, alongside Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.

- Collaborate closely with the appointed contractor(s) and the operations team to ensure the works are delivered to the project programme, in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Notable experience in on-site management or supervision working on the construction, maintenance, and commissioning of High Voltage cable, plant and equipment.

- In-depth understanding of health, safety, and CDM 2015 Regulations, ideally within a High Voltage construction setup.

- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple contractors/subcontractors to adhere to project timelines and budgets effectively.

- Previous experience in quality monitoring through inspection and test plans.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge others along with experience in resolving conflicts and planning site activities.
