Salary: £28,551 (plus £1,500 South Eastern Allowance). On the current system, officers can expect to be earning a salary of more than £46,044 per annum by your seventh year in the job.

We’re excited to be working with Bedfordshire Police who are now inviting applications to become a Police Officer via the Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP).

The PCEP is a brand-new programme of initial learning, which takes two years to complete. You will undertake a period of initial learning at our training school, before moving to your designated policing area for tutoring and further operational coaching. Once you have successfully passed PCEP you will be able to consider further opportunities of progression and specialism within the Force.

What academic qualifications do you need?

· GCSE Maths and English at a minimum of grade C or 4 (or equivalent qualification, such as level 2 functional skills in Maths and English)

In addition to the Maths and English requirements, the following criteria will also be applied:

· Applicants with passes in two A Levels (or equivalent) consisting of 32 UCAS points will automatically meet the academic entry requirements

· Applicants with less than 32 UCAS points will be considered if they can provide evidence of at least one year’s employment in a role with comparable skills to policing or academic study. If this is you, you will be invited to complete an aptitude test followed by a suitability discussion where an assessment will be made on your ability to meet the academic demands of the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship. Applicants who pass the suitability discussion criteria will have met the university entry requirements

The accelerated detective programme, also known as Detective Degree Holder Entry Programme (D-DHEP) is a two-year programme that combines on the job learning alongside working towards a fully funded graduate diploma with Anglia Ruskin University, all whilst earning a competitive salary and making a difference.
