This position is a mission critical occupation for HRSA. This position is responsible for analyzing public health programs, policies and procedures to ensure that Health Resources and Services Administration meets its mission, goals and objectives.
As a Branch Chief of the Division of Home Visiting and Early Childhood Systems (DHVECS), you will be directing programs of national significance that inform the agency's mission and result in significantly improving access to high-quality essential public health programs, that aim to improve the health and wellbeing of the nation's young children and their families.
Your major duties and responsibilities include:
- Advising departmental leaders on public health principles, trends, resources, evidence based interventions, and latest developments to build strategic alignment of grant and contract priorities across the Division to stimulate collaboration and advance the areas of perinatal health and early childhood development, data, analysis, and evaluation related to the fields of health promotion, optimal social and emotional development, injury prevention, prevention of child maltreatment, and advancements of system-based strategies to improve early developmental health and family well-being.
- Evaluating and analyzing the efficacy of programs to fully demonstrate program impact both qualitatively and quantitively; drafting reports, publications, and other materials to disseminate findings, and respond to internal and external data inquiries to communicate recommendations to advance the maternal and child health field.
- Advising on the development of logic models and program performance measures, ensures program data reporting systems, tools, and procedures for monitoring and analysis are included in program design, as well as assures that all activities are compliant with legislative authority.
- Leading Federal and non-Federal stakeholder engagement to identify gaps, advance evidence-based programs, reinforce the impact of ongoing activities, and develop innovative broad reaching programs that further the Branch's vision and approach to achieving optimal health for pregnant people, young children and families.
- Serving as a member of the leadership team within the Division and promoting innovative problem-solving, role-models integrity, acts fairly and respectfully, and fosters a diverse and accepting work environment.
- Supervising an interdisciplinary team of professionals with expertise in disability, medicine, public health, public policy, maternal and women's health, perinatal health, statistics, economics, data analytics, evaluation, impact analysis, modeling, program management, process improvement and/or administrative support.
