• Coordinate the administrative aspects of the credentialing program.
• Monitor compliance of provider peer review, Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) to ensure compliance with Joint Commission andother regulatory standards.

• Conduct periodic screening and purging of individual files in accordance with DHA, Federal, and State regulations and directives.
• Utilize information extracted from database reports for appropriate credentials documentation and independently initiates correspondence or telephonically contacts
• Notify the individual nurse/provider and their chain of command, as appropriate, when licensure nears expiration and when they expire.
• Use knowledge of administrative programs and operations to refer individuals to appropriate party.

Major Duties

• The incumbent assists the C&P Manager/Analyst in developing short- and long-term goals necessary to accomplish the mission of the C&P program.
• Assists in identifying the resources necessary for accomplishing the mission and function of the credentials and privileging program. Serves as SME in the field of credentials and clinical privileging.
• Keeps leadership and appropriate administrative staff informed of program changes, new regulatory requirements, and policies and procedures pertaining to the C&P process.
• Assists C&P Manager/Analyst in drafting local credentialing processes and Medical Staff Bylaws in compliance with all applicable regulations.
• Receives and reviews correspondence and communications for the C&P function and determines which items require immediate attention and which are confidential in nature.
• Receives and reviews VetPro reports detecting problem areas requiring further investigation. Upon identification of a problem, researches reference materials, regulations, and standards to identify appropriate action necessary to correct the problem.
• Issues of a serious nature are elevated to the supervisor for guidance.
• Ensures accurate provider data is entered into and maintained in the VetPro computer program.
• Ensures current information is present on providers relative to state licensure, Drug Enforcement Organization (DEA) license, National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) Continuous Query (CQ) enrollments and renewals, Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB), documentation of professional education, specialty medical training, certifications, adverse licensure or privileging actions, initial and renewal of privileges which may affect the status of privileges granted for medical practice.
• Informs C&P Manager/Analyst of trends identified, audit results and identified problems that may affect a provider's privilege status.
• Manages provider applications (initial and renewals) for LIPs C&P within the VAMC.
• Incumbent must have a broad knowledge of medical specialties and core privileges and is the technical advisor to clinical leadership for the development of department specific privileges and assures that complete documentation is available to support privileges granted to providers within their training and/or experience.

Major duties include but not limited to:

• Prepares documents for VISN and VACO review
• Develops processes and recommendations to ensure efficient office operations within the Associate Director's Office
• Undertaking and participating in special programs and site visits
• Coordinates the planning, organizing, developing, and implementing of projects to meet the special needs of our stakeholders, Veterans, and employees
• Completes ongoing analysis, investigations, and initiatives that are high priority for SVAHCS and/or the AD. This may involve organizing special work groups, initiating program reviews, and producing complex analysis and written reports
• Interacts with Veterans and their family members, Medical Center leadership and management, Veteran Service Organizations, and other stakeholders on behalf of the Associate Director
• Responsible for inviting and briefing appropriate subject matter experts to assure goals of visit are met. Briefs and advises senior management on agenda items in preparation for activities and meetings of local significance.
• Perform all other duties assigned by Executive Leadership or Designee.

The principal function of the position is that of a psychologist providing specialized neuropsychological assessment services.

Exercises full professional responsibility for his/her findings, interpretations, decisions, recommendations and reports, and for providing full professional clinical services to inmates in the medical center.

Responsible for performing neuropsychological evaluations on both sentenced and unsentenced federal detainees, including those referred for forensic evaluation.

Periodically appraises the attitudes, personality dynamics and overall level of adjustment of inmates resulting from participation in current institutional programs.

Plans and implements both individual and group psychotherapy on a regularly scheduled basis. Conducts individual interviews and crisis intervention sessions as required.

Responsible for performing physical therapy evaluations, formulating objective treatment plans, and providing treatments for patients (inmates) referred by other medical staff.

Plans, implements and administers treatments utilizing various accepted techniques which include, but are not limited to: therapeutic exercise; manual therapy; functional training; prescription, application, and/or fabrication of devices and equipment; integumentary repair and protection; and electrotherapeutic, physical, and mechanical modalities.

Documents all aspects of patient management utilizing the electronic health record according to established policy and licensure requirements.

Makes recommendations on matters of policy, procedures, training, personnel, and equipment, which may include developing written policies and procedures that reflect the objectives and operation of physical therapy services, as well as providing input for multidisciplinary programs with physical therapy involvement.

Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
