In this Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (Applications Software) position you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals to ensure that various Information Technology (IT) application software components. Typical work assignments include:

• Managing IT applications using agile methodologies from initiation to completion, including technical project management of new and ongoing projects.
• Supervising the design, development and testing of large and complex programs that are mission critical or have a wide impact.
• Reviewing and interpreting departmental IT policies, standards and guideline, procedures, and strategies governing the planning, design, and deliver of agency-wide software design.
• Serving as the primary liaison between customers and vendors and IT management throughout the development process.
• Developing performance plans and giving advice, counsel, or instruction to subordinates on both work and administrative matters.

• Is primary point of contact for administrative functions related to management, human resources, and financial programs, to include but not limited to the Government Purchase Card (GPC) program, facilities management program, DTIC Policy, etc.
• Supports DTIC Correspondence Action Tracking Management System (CATMS), reviewing and assigning incoming CATMS actions from OSD Principal Staff Elements to determine applicability, response requirements, and the DTIC entity to prepare the response.
• Conducts comprehensive reviews of DTIC policies for annual updates or revision. Leads coordination with building manager on physical facility support.
• Manages the DTIC GPC program, evaluating policies, processes, and resources required for optimal utilization.

Functions as a Special Population Program Coordinator within the secure confines of a Bureau of Prisons (BOP) federal correctional facility

Services to inmates who are members of a special population in an effort to help inmates address issues specific to the special population of which they are a member.

Performs duties consistent with the identified target population.

Provides group and individual counseling to inmates who are members of a targeted special population.

Assist in community/reentry planning to address special population needs which may include residential reentry center placement, community treatment services, hospital placements, street releases or coordinating with the United States Probation Office.

Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution.

Responsible for the education of prison staff about drug abuse, drug abuse treatment and the local prison program.

• Establishes and maintains guidelines and controls, and manages the overall projects to include acquisition strategy, budget planning, engineering life cycle activities, developmental and operational and support, component procurement, and outsourcing. Provides expert technical skills and services to provide optimum solutions to complex and sensitive issues and difficult problems, often requiring innovative methods to achieve results.
• Advises, manages, and adheres to policy recommendations while ensuring compliance with existing IT security, cybersecurity, acquisition, enterprise change control and configuration management policies on a routine basis. Ensures the application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of information technology services.
• Ensure that appropriate Service-Level Agreements (SLAs) and underpinning contracts have been defined that clearly set out for the customer a description of the service and the measures for monitoring the service.
