Your Career

The Technical Principal is a senior technical leader in the JAPAC theatre and will be a member of the Palo Alto Networks Global Customer Service (GCS) Leadership Team in JAPAC responsible for leading a team of Technical Architects and liaising and providing technical leadership to GCS teams across JAPAC. • Perform performance analysis, review parameters and tune / optimize SQL queries.  Work closely with application teams to create database objects to ensure performance optimization.

• Write or Tune SQL queries, review data model and structures and provide recommendation for database table structures.

• Write KQL queries, Query store, Intelligent tuning, and query stats, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.  Identify potential issues in database and SQL issues to solve them early.

• Analyze and coordinate with application development teams fixing technical SQL problems.

• Setup and perform Backup/restore/recovery.  Setup Read Replica, perform failover and failback PostgreSQL between zones and regions.

• Plan and coordinate with Microsoft for data backups, DR restore/recovery and setup vendor escalation procedures.

• Troubleshot and fix database and SQL performance slowness

• Provide 24 x 7 operation and on-call production support

  Responsibilites
  

• As a backend engineer at Updraft, you will design and build server-side components that run seamlessly with clients. You will also be involved in architectural improvements and make sure the efficiency of our code is always on point.
• You will build robust and scalable applications and features using internal and external APIs (such as Modulr, Truelayer, Checkout.com) that improve different aspects of existing lending products such as loan application, collections and payments.
• You will increase our operations efficiency by building internal tools that automate tasks and save 1000s of man hours.
• You will work with the data team to implement data driven changes and features such as pricing etc to our product.
• You will work alongside the front-end team and product team to build new features and products that will change the way people handle their personal finances.

• 1-2 years of hands-on experience in writing secure, efficient, high-quality Python code preferably using some API framework like Django/ Flask.
• Experience with technologies such as Cloud Computing (AWS / Google Cloud), Git, Docker, Postgres and other server-side technologies.
