As a Senior Advisor in the HR Transformation - Compliance & Audit team, you will provide first point of contact support on a wide range of HR related queries to a variety of customers. You will also provide managers and employees with guidance and training, including those relating to employee payments. You will also support the administration of the Cycle to Work, Buy, Bank and Unpaid Leave schemes and Green Car Scheme. Administration of the Green Car Scheme will include criteria checks, setting up employees to the scheme as well processing changes to agreements such as re-writes and early terminations. You will be responsible for checking regular reports for accuracy of data and issuing variation of contracts. You will process invoices, credit notes and ad hoc deductions. Therefore, good organisational skills and customer service is paramount to this role.

You will assist the Team Lead on HR Compliance and Audit initiatives and have input to the development of controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations. You will support the Team Lead in the collation and information gathering for various audits and specific information requests such as Freedom of Information and Subject Access requests. You will communicate with various stakeholders on a variety of topics including those relating to employee payment reports and audits, ensuring that quality standards are maintained.

Main Responsibilities:

• Providing first point of contact support to customers in relation to a wide range of HR related queries across different communication platforms.
• Supporting the Team Lead on HR Compliance and Audit initiatives and develop systems of control to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Supporting the Team Lead by undertaking audits to verify, validate, collate and provide appropriate evidence for requests, including those from external agencies, in line with relevant governance to support the due diligence of HR and payroll processes. In conjunction with the Team Lead, take any corrective action that is required.
• Supporting the Team Lead in monitoring and liaising with managers regarding various HR Data reports including, Occupancy End Reports and Employee Payments reports.

• Assist the Team Lead in the coordination and administration of the Cycle to Work, Green Car and annual Buy, Bank and Unpaid leave schemes.
• Work in partnership with all stakeholders, including participation in support meetings and other stakeholder engagement activities, aligned with the HR Transformation and Engagement project plan and provide reports, briefings, and presentations as and when required.
• Work with the teams within the ESC to resolve compliance issues, train or raise awareness of recurring issues and feedback on audit and compliance check findings.
• In conjunction with staff, ensure that Standard Operating Procedures on all HR processes in the Employee Service Centre are created, ensuring ownership and reviews of them continually to seek improvement and in line with changes.

The Individual

It is essential that you are an excellent communicator with strong analytical skills and attention to detail, as well as good verbal and written skills. Excellent IT skills with experience in using MS Office. Knowledge of iTrent would be advantageous.

You should be a customer focused individual with excellent time management skills, able to work in a fast-paced environment with conflicting priorities. You should be able to work on your own initiative and have experience of working in with internal and external partners and be comfortable challenging current practices.

You must be educated to SVQ3 level, HNC or equivalent qualification, with significant experience within in an HR field.

1 x 17.5 hours post is temporary for 3 years.

We are looking for Civil Engineering Technician (x2) to join the Highways & Coastal - Project Delivery team on a full-time and permanent basis. To be successful in this role, the ability to use a variety of IT packages to undertake surveys, designs and other technical assessments including AutoCAD, Civils 3D/MX or similar and InfoDrainage is essential. Previous experience of assisting assistant engineers, engineers and senior engineers with the management of resources such as time, financial, contract and project management is essential. Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain effective internal and external working relationships is crucial for this role. You will have the opportunity to support the Recruitment Team to deliver an excellent recruitment journey for our applicants and support our Managers in the recruitment process.

You will be self-motivated with a diligent approach to customer service delivery and be able to plan and prioritise your/your team’s workload.

You will review and continually improve the recruitment process, ensuring a streamlined recruitment process that allows posts to be filled quickly and efficiently.

Educated to SVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent (or working towards this) and with an extended level of relevant experience of working within an HR environment, you will have excellent telephone and written communication skills and the ability to provide information clearly and concisely. With good organisational skills you will have the ability to prioritise and meet agreed deadlines while demonstrating attention to detail and accuracy. You will be flexible and adaptable with the ability to use your initiative appropriately. You will be numerate and IT literate with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office. You will be able to relate to all members of staff and maintain a high degree of confidentiality pertaining to all aspects of work.

Your new role
Southend-on-Sea City Council are looking for a permanent Social Worker to provide professional and comprehensive casework to a caseload of children and young people within the busy Family Support & Protection Team.This position will be mostly working from home, but you do need to be able to get to the city to complete assessments and join your team on site.

*This position attracts the added incentive of a one-off payment of £7,500, after you have been employed in this post for 3 years and 1 day.

You are required to provide professional and comprehensive casework to a caseload (average of 17 -20) of children and young people within the long-term children's social work teams. You will be developing and maintaining relationships with children and families who require longer-term social work intervention, including those subject to child protection plans, complex child in need, PLO/Pre Proceedings and, if required, within the court arena.You need to provide an efficient and cost-effective service to children, young people and their families, ensuring that the needs of the children and their parents/carers are professionally assessed. Investigate, evaluate and analyse information on cases, demonstrating clarity of assessment, reliability of information, evidence conclusions and realistic action plans.

The quality of practice will be supported by regular supervision; training opportunities, tools and resources are readily available to assist in the day-to-day work.Nowhere else will you gain as much experience on the job, making us a sought-after place to work. Southend Council have an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Social Worker to join the Ageing Well East Service.Within this position, hybrid working opportunities are available. However, a flexible approach is required as you will be required to be on site and travel around the city, as and when needed.

The Ageing Well Service provides assessment and review functions for older aged adults and older adults with mental ill health. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Social Worker to work in Southend-on-Sea.This post is crucial to the delivery of person-centred care assessments and supporting adults to remain as independent as possible. Working alongside health colleagues to prevent adults from being admitted to long term residential care and supporting interdependence with the community, you will support adults and their carers as a 'change agent' to build on their strengths, assets and abilities to self-manage.

What you'll need to succeed

You must have current experience of working in the Adult Social Care sector and have the ability to build excellent working relationships with other agencies/professionals at all levels. You will need to be able to scope out community assets to better inform those people we work with.

You must have knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, skills in assessment of carers and the ability to provide support and guidance to carers is essential.You need to have experience of applying the Care Act (2014), Mental Capacity Act (2005) and managing adult safeguarding enquiries or have a good understanding/knowledge if no direct experience is available.
