This position is with the Department of Interior Office of Inspector General, Division of Human Resources in Herndon, Virginia. This office is responsible for providing Human Resources support for the Department of Interior Office of Inspector General nationwide. As a Human Resources Specialist you will be responsible for recruitment, staffing, and classification as well as performing or overseeing personnel action processing.

Major duties include:

• Conducts merit promotion and delegated examining staffing functions, including vacancy
  preparation, assessment development, job analyses, and applicant screening and certification.
• Provides consultative service regarding various recruitment/staffing, classification, and compensation management.
• Provides the full range of position management and classification functions, including identifying and justifying correct titles, series, and grades; preparing comprehensive evaluation statements; and recommending efficient organizational structures.
• Advises management about pay requirements and flexibilities, such as recruitment,
  relocation, and retention incentives; student loan repayment; superior qualifications appointments; and
  premium pay.

This position is with the Office of Inspector General, Division of Human Resources, in Herndon, Virginia. This office is responsible for providing a full range of human resources services to DOI OIG's workforce. If selected for this position, you will supervise a staff of human resources specialists and assistants responsible for staffing, classification, personnel action processing, employee benefits, compensation, and personnel security programs OIG-wide.

Major duties include:

• Overseeing merit promotion and delegated examining activities;
• Supervising staff of HR specialists and assistants; ensuring technical accuracy of program areas;
• Providing complex, expert-level advisory services in multiple HR functional areas (staffing, classification, compensation);
• Developing policies and SOPs in the above functional areas; and
• Overseeing HR information systems, to include hiring management, personnel action processing, and time & attendance.
