Your Duties...


Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals as and when required
Provide for special dietary requirements when necessary and take into account the preferences of the residents
Liaise with the Home Manager when planning/costing menus in order to provide a balanced nutritious diet, making the best use of available fresh food
Maintain accurate records of food supplies/freezers and fridge temperatures
Keep in line with food budgets/cost control
Ensure stock rotation, order stock and check deliveries
Prepare staff rota for kitchen
Interview new domestic staff members with the Home Manager as and when required in line with company recruitment policy
Supervise and instruct Kitchen Staff members in the use of all equipment and hygiene procedures
Help and guidance to all staff members as and when needed
Ensure statutory and safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas
Ensure all crockery and equipment is clean and stored appropriately
Report immediately to the Home Manager, or person in charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident

There will be a requirement to travel to clinics and patients within the Community, therefore a valid driving licence and access to transport is essential.

To apply you will need to have a BSc/MSc in Physiotherapy and be registered with the HCPC or an undergraduate student nearing course completion. It is also open to those returning to practice.

The Post Graduate Physiotherapist Rotational Scheme offers a broad base of clinical experience. Staff on the Rotation will be expected to work on any of the placements on the scheme.

We are looking for a Locum Dental Hygienist to cover an assignment with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), at RAF Marham Dental Centre, in King's Lynn, Norfolk.

This is a locum role (37.5 hours) and the successful candidate will deliver an exceptional standard of care to the MoD service personnel.

About the Role:
• To provide the Dental Officers with clinical and administrative support to enable him/her to achieve his/her primary purpose, including the provision of dental hygiene treatment, oral hygiene instruction and education and any other appropriate clinical procedure as prescribed by a Dental Officer working towards improving and maintaining the oral health of entitled personnel.
• To undertake all activities described in the GDC Scope of Practice. You will assist the pharmacy department in ordering the medicines required to satisfy the needs of a busy hospital. You will also assist in other aspects of the pharmacy service, such as stock management and dispensing, helping to ensure the highest quality of pharmaceutical care is given to our patients. The team has a strong focus on training and development and supports career progression within the department. Service requirements include participation in late duty, weekend and bank holiday working. To accurately process orders ensuring that contract lines have been ordered where applicable. To place orders with Manufacturers and Wholesalers electronically using a web based ordering system. To order medical and special gases when required. To pass invoices and credit notes promptly and investigate, rectify or report discrepancies immediately. To investigate and action medications on 'To Follow' to ensure that the stock is obtained as quickly as possible whilst considering urgency and cost. To ensure that all documentation is completed accurately and filed appropriately and that filing systems are kept up to date and in good order. To liaise with the Procurement Manager regarding out of stocks, non-contract and supplier issues. To claim monies back from Manufacturers for off-contract purchases where applicable. Follow Departmental SOPs at all times.

Dispensary and stores duties To dispense inpatient and outpatient prescriptions using the electronic dispensing record (JAC) and present them for checking. To participate in the dispensing of clinical trial prescriptions ensuring all relevant documentation is completed. To ensure the safe dispensing and witnessing of controlled drugs via the Omnicell cabinet. To dispense TTO prescriptions, using PODs whenever possible, and present them for checking. To issue prescriptions to patients and, where appropriate, counsel on the use of their medicines. To undertake the role of an Accredited Checking Technician, after appropriate training and competency assessment. To assist in the training of new staff, pre-registration pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants. To assist in the review of pharmacy standard operating procedures. To check returned stock from wards for re-use within the dispensary. To take part in the ward top-up supply system. To screen pharmacy stores picking tickets as per the standard operating procedure, and amend if necessary. To ensure security of pharmaceutical stock including drugs and other materials for production of pharmaceutical products. To assist the systems and data support technician in preparing and submitting the monthly high cost drugs monthly medicines issues data and answering any queries by reviewing patients clinical record or liaising with the clinical team. Aseptic Services To prepare products and maintain isolator and clean room conditions to the required standards and the departmental procedures. This will include aseptic manipulation, TPNs and cytotoxics. To liaise with the haematology and oncology pharmacists and clinic doctors to ensure prescriptions are received in a timely manner To work flexibly as part of a team to prepare and deliver chemotherapy items to Sandra Chapman Centre, as well as prepare other aseptic products. To dispense extemporaneous products as required To assist with the assembly of repacks and emergency packs To assist the Quality Assurance Technician with the management of the Trusts temperature monitoring system. Procurement and Homecare Duties To order medicines via all relevant supply channels (including non-stock items) following procurement standard operating procedures. To assist in the smooth running of the medicines procurement process including: Return of medicines to the supplier due to ordering errors and product damage. Drug recalls searching for and quarantining affected stock. Wholesale dealer transactions. Receipt of deliveries and processing of invoices and delivery notes. To participate in the homecare dispensing process, working within the standard operating procedures. To assist with resolving stock discrepancies identified by the pharmacy team and assisting with situations concerning availability of prescribed medicines, referring to senior members of staff where necessary to ensure consistent medicines supply. Ward Services Duties After appropriate training and competency assessment, to undertake drug histories and medicines reconciliation on wards under the supervision of a clinical pharmacist or senior pharmacy technician To counsel patients on medicines use, overcoming barriers to communication where necessary to ensure safe use of medicines. To check patients own medicines for appropriateness, providing a new supply where needed. Ordering medicines for inpatients via the electronic prescribing and medicines administration system. To deliver controlled drugs to wards/theatres/clinics as per standard operating procedures and assist in the receipt of controlled drugs into stock with a nurse/ODP. To support others in undertaking medicines related audits throughout the trust, including controlled drugs audits. To assist in destroying patients own controlled drugs and returning unwanted and out of date controlled drugs to pharmacy in preparation for destruction. To input information on the electronic discharge system in order to transfer discharge information between care setting where appropriate.

Plans, markets and conducts ongoing fitness programs to provide conditioning for facility users. Instructs individuals and groups in the proper conditioning and training for aerobic and muscular fitness, body composition and flexibility. Instructs patrons in the proper use of equipment and self-monitored progress by preparing written instructions and procedures for use of equipment and safety of all users.

Incumbent plans, evaluates and ensures that the fitness program is meeting the physical development and fitness standards of authorized patrons. Administers the fitness program, instruction on strength conditioning and instructing of fitness equipment.

The incumbent must have the ability to approach patrons on the fitness floor in order to provide training tips and correct unsafe or ineffective exercise techniques.

Assists with the management of the fitness center with responsibility for opening and closing the facility, checking user ID cards, monitoring towel usage, and returning weights and other fitness material to the proper location. Routinely inspects and cleans equipment, performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and coordinates for required major repairs on equipment located in the center. Periodically inspects and performs preventative maintenance on equipment.Provides information and instruction related to nutrition, cardiorespiratory and strength conditioning. Instructs fitness center users on proper and safe use of equipment and use of fitness resources.

Assists with designing and implementing fitness programs complying with established rules and regulations. As requested, designs and monitors unstructured individualized self-paced programs for users or assists users in developing their own program. Conducts newcomers orientation or equipment orientation classes to individuals or groups on a regular basis to military, family members, civilians, retirees, and others eligible to use the fitness facility.

May assist fitness instructors utilizing the facility.

Provides administrative support to operate the facility as necessary. This may include but not limited to registration of user privilege, waiver of liability forms, training schedules, development and use of computer software programs and other required records.

Conducts inventories and maintains property accountability of equipment.

Assists in budget preparation and facility needs assessment by providing supporting data for inclusion in the overall annual budget requirements for the facility.

The successful candidate will be expected to work at the Registrar level, supporting Junior trainee colleagues and will also provide on call Surgical cover during the day/night when on call. The appointee will be supported and supervised by Associate Specialists and Consultants. Nevertheless expected to make independent surgical decisions. The successful appointee will be assisting with the day to day running of the wards, assisting and performing in theatre sessions, Out Patient clinics and arranging admission and discharges under Consultant supervision. A ward round will be conducted each morning with junior staff, which will incorporate the management of Surgical emergencies admitted the previous night under the General Surgeons, as well as incumbent patients. Continue to develop in General Surgery taking part in middle grade full shift surgical rota. The appointee will undertake the routine and emergency care of Surgical patients. The post will give plenty of opportunities for learning Advanced Surgical procedures. A pro-active role should be taken in departmental audits and must participate in the on-going teaching activities of the department. To provide support and guidance to Trainees. To participate actively in the educational and audit activities of the department, for example recruiting patients to new trials and verifying timely data collection. Develop management skills in running successful MDT sessions. A flexible attitude to adjusting to changes within the department will be necessary. The appointee will be given the opportunity to receive further training in his/her own special interest.
