The Supervisor for Physical Therapy has extensive knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of physical therapy practice and the science of physical therapy as necessary to plan and direct the wide range of activities relating to the overall operation of the physical therapy program under the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Service (PM&RS) at the Jacksonville Outpatient Clinic within the North Florida/South Georgia VA Health System.

• Performs the functions and duties of the PIV sponsor for the outpatient clinic and adjacent community based outpatient clinics.
• Liaison for Veterans Service Offices, DAV, and all other veteran organizations.

Staff Dentist: An individual that demonstrates the ability in the field of general dentistry or a dental specialty who is employed to perform the duties related to various professional activities of patient care and treatment without supervision. In addition to meeting the basic requirements, applicants must demonstrate ability in the general practice of dentistry; be capable of assisting in maintaining accepted standards of professional care in VA facilities; and be capable of accepting full responsibility for the proper care and treatment of assigned patients

Primary duties and responsibilities for all Dentists include, but are not limited to:

• Routine exams and teeth cleaning
• Restorative procedures, including fillings and crowns
• Comprehensive surgical care, including extractions (pulling teeth) and oral cancer screening
• Routine and advanced prosthodontic care, including bridges, dentures, and dental implants
• Routine and advanced periodontal care, including root canals, gum treatments, and supporting bone care
• Oral and facial reconstruction surgery to repair damage from traumatic injury or serious illness

The Nurse II RN is a proficient nurse who understands a situation as a whole and perceives its meaning in terms of long-term goals. The proficient nurse learns from experience what typical events to expect in a given situation and how plans need to be modified in response to these events. The Nurse II RN demonstrates performance and leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others. They are self-directed and have a global understanding of how their area(s) of responsibility support the system's mission and vision. They demonstrate sound decision-making and judgment and possess excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.

The registered nurse provides care and counseling of persons to promote and maintain health and the prevention of illness and injury based upon the nursing process, which includes systematic data gathering, assessment, appropriate nursing judgment, and evaluation of human responses to actual or potential health problems through such services as case finding, health teaching, health counseling, provision of care supportive to or restorative of life and well-being, and executing medical regimens, including administering medications and treatments prescribed by a licensed or otherwise legally authorized provider. The nurse's primary commitment is to the patient, whether an individual, family, group, or community. The staff nurse interprets the philosophy and goals of the Nursing Service to others in the work setting; functions within established guidelines and demonstrates the ability to work effectively and develop therapeutic relationships with patients, their families and other professional and supportive personnel who provide patient care.
