The James H. Quillen VA Medical Center is seeking a full-time board certified/board eligible non-invasive/clinical cardiologist. The candidate should be trained in all aspects of non-invasive/clinical cardiology. Non-invasive cardiology provides direct patient care through busy cardiology ward and cardiac critical care unit (CCU) inpatient consultation service, a robust non-invasive lab that performs state-of-the-art echocardiography (including strain and 3D imaging for structural interventions) and outpatient clinics. The candidate will engage in in-patient care, management of patients in cardiac critical care unit (CCU) and provide cardiology consultation services on an outpatient basis. The candidate will have outpatient clinic responsibilities to improve clinic access to veterans with cardiovascular disease by providing both direct care in the clinic, supervision of advanced practice providers, and supervision in the cardiology fellowship outpatient clinics. Strongly prefer a physician who will provide transthoracic, transesophageal, stress echocardiography and nuclear stress testing services in the cardiac non-invasive lab. The physician will engage with trainee education as part of the East Tennessee State University (ETSU) Cardiology Fellowship training program.

In this role, the incumbents will provide feedback and patient education to the patients and their families and demonstrate excellence in all facets of patient care and meets or exceeds compliance standards. The incumbents will provide consultative feedback and management on patients referred from other sections of the hospital and/or affiliated VA outpatient clinics, and perform administrative functions and other tasks as assigned by the Section Chief of Cardiology and/or the Chief of Medicine.

The incumbents are expected to provide patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the promotion of health, prevention of illness, and treatment of disease. The ideal candidate should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills that enable them to establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and other members of the health care team. • Properly performs operator maintenance on and stores such tools and equipment used by the pipefitters. These items include hand tools, pipe· threaders, augers, drills, torches, welders, piping, valves, replacement parts, etc.
• Works with and guides the work of patients, temporary employee and occasionally apprentices.
• The incumbent will be called upon to assist in small scale asbestos abatement projects, in his trade, as necessary.
