Starting at $65,502 Per Year (GS 8)

Pay: Per service/Flat Rate
$2,100 flat rate for non-critical care
$3,000 flat rate for critical care

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)

Associate Service Chief-Pharmacy Operations GS-14

Duties include but are not limited to the following description:

The Associate Service Chief-Pharmacy Operations reports directly to the Chief, Pharmacy Service and is responsible for providing leadership, direction, organization, planning and implementation of comprehensive acute and ambulatory care pharmacy activities and services which promote effective utilization of all resources. This includes patient care, research, quality assurance and performance improvement and pharmacoeconomics to improve the care and treatment of patients utilizing all services of VA Connecticut Healthcare System. In the absence of the Associate Chiefs, Acute and Ambulatory Care, the Associate Chief is also responsible for providing leadership and direction to the clinical and educational pharmacy programs at VACT. Must possess interpersonal skills to effectively function with health care professionals and all pharmacy and VACT staff. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Pharmacists assigned to this position must demonstrate the following KSAs:

Starting at $148,538 Per Year (GS 14)

• Transfer patients from stretcher or wheelchair to imaging table.
• Prepare room, equipment and material needed for patient procedures.
• Prepares oral and injectable contrast and other chemical mixtures as necessary.
• Follow prescribed protocols required to perform procedures.
• Observes patients during procedures and reports complications or unusual events.
• Perform computer work and required forms associated with patient exams, credit of patient visits, complications or quality improvement activities of the Radiology Department.
• Administer contrast material, under the direction of the radiologist, according to protocols.
• Maximize patient throughput by contacts with escort, ward secretaries, nursing personnel, etc.
• Maintain a clean work area and adequate level of supplies within their assigned rooms at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: 8:00am-8:00pm, every other Saturday- Sunday, on call weeknights, weekends & holidays with occasional rotational coverage in Newington. 24 hours per pay period.
