(3) Directs work to be accomplished by the base medical and bioenvironmental programs, ensuring each is developed and implemented according to applicable regulations. Sets priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work. Reviews, accepts, amends or rejects work. Ensures compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements, medical readiness requirements, and the overall integrity of medical information and technology, force health management programs, and initiatives which operate to maintain and ensure a fit and ready force. The Central Arkansas Veterans Health Care System is seeking a Full Time Nephrologist Physician for the position of VA Facility Dialysis Program Medical Director. The duties will be split between clinical care and administrative responsibilities and will be responsible for both inpatient and outpatient patient care. The incumbent will be responsible for oversight of a 22-chair dialysis unit at the Little Rock campus and a 4-chair hemodialysis unit at the North Little Rock campus.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Regularly observe and note readings on gauges, meters, detectors, recorders, boiler water level indicators, and computer generated and analog displays to detect danger signals in operations.
• Tests and analyzes the feedwater, boiler water, and condensate using standard chemical tests.
• Receives calls, determines responsibility, and dispatches appropriate personnel for service calls for after normal working hours.
• Keep the MSDS paperwork updated with the newest version.
• Monitors the operation of chillers, air handlers, pumps, cooling towers, computer rooms, refrigeration equipment, and alarms to assure proper pressures and temperatures are maintained in the facility.
• Maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of the boiler plant, tool room, office, and medical waste room.
• Monitors environmental conditions in the HCS using the EMS via use of Insight (host) and network to view, interpret, and acknowledge alarm messages.
• Coordinates with the VA police and local fire departments to ensure timely response to fires and other emergencies.

• Handle simple prescription interventions and inventory control
• Involve in laboratory/compounding work
• Packing and supply of medications
• Maintenance and simple trouble shooting of machines
• Assisting the pharmacist-in-charge in any other related function when necessary
• Other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science/Chemistry/Applied Sciences
• Good team player

Requirements:

• Registered with the Singapore Nursing Board.
