The post holder will work predominantly on Oncology and Haematology research studies .

The post holder will work collaboratively with Leading Principal Investigators, Research team and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide an opportunity for patients to participate in research studies. The Research Sister/Charge nurse will lead on complex studies and manage a caseload of their own together with supporting other studies within the bounds of their registration. They will be expected to participate in the recruitment of patients into clinical research, including clinical trials of drugs and new interventions within set time limits. When working on clinical trials he/she will monitor the patients and observe for side effects reporting according to set protocols. An important aspect of the role is the maintenance of accurate and comprehensive records of data derived from the research studies. Therefore the post holder will require excellent documentation, organisational and time management skills.

The post holder will work in conjunction with other team members ensuring all research undertaken within the department safeguards the well-being of the participants and is conducted within the research governance framework.

Whilst previous experience in clinical research would be an advantage, applications are welcomed from candidates with solid nursing experience and who can show evidence of continuing professional development and a willingness to learn.

Main Duties/ Responsibilities 1. To assist in the development of the aseptic service. 2. Due to additional funding an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Speech & Language Therapist to join our innovative community-based team working across Coventry.

Opportunities are available to work with a mixed caseload across all ages and in a variety of settings . You would be providing assessment and intervention for children and young people with aspects of the role also including training for parents and education staff .

You will also have some service wide responsibilities and would offer clinical and caseload support to less experienced colleagues. The service is delivered in a variety of settings; family homes, nurseries, mainstream and special schools and the city centre clinic. We also provide some virtual appointments via Attend Anywhere.

The Children’s Speech & Language Therapy Team aims to provide a high-quality service to children, young people and their families. We provide assessment, interventions, advice and support to children and young people aged 0-19 with a Coventry GP. We also support children in Coventry schools with an Education, Health & Care Plan. We have developed clinical pathways and a competency programme in a variety of clinical areas including Speech, Language, Voice, Stammering, Dysphagia, Deafness, Cleft Palate, Alternative & Augmentative Communication and young children “At Risk” of SLCN.

Are you an experienced Clinical Endoscopist (Nurse Endoscopist) looking to provide world class and compassionate care to our community?

UHCW would like to offer you a warm welcome to the University Hospital Coventry Endoscopy team. Our JAG Accredited service provides a range of both diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopic procedures to a population of over a million people across Coventry and Rugby.

Its an exciting time to join UHCW as we work through our new Community Diagnostic Centre Programme (CDC), which provides patients with more convenient access to vital diagnostic procedures with shorter waiting times. As part of the CDC programme a new Endoscopy Unit opened at the Hospital of St Cross. The includes three fully-equipped Endoscopy procedure rooms and facilities with separate male and female waiting and recovery areas, improving privacy and comfort for patients. This is in addition to the 5 procedure room unit on the Coventry site.

As an established Nurse Endoscopist you will work in collaboration with the gastroenterology and endoscopy departments across both our University Hospital, Coventry and Hospital of St Cross, Rugby sites. Main duties of the job will:
• Manage a caseload of patients, supporting patients their families and clinical staff throughout the diagnostic process
• Mole model and provide clinical support for junior members of the team
• Be independently competent in undertaking diagnostic endoscopy (OGD, Flexible sigmoidoscopy and / or Colonoscopy).
• Be willing to undertake TNE and support the development of this service.
• Collaborate with the management teams within the gastroenterology and endoscopy departments

The post holder will manage a caseload of patients, supporting patients their families and clinical staff throughout the diagnostic process, and providing clinical support for junior members of the team.

As an established Clinical Endoscopist competent in delivering education, supported with audit and research, the post holder will take personal responsibility for the setting of professional standards and the monitoring of performance against the agreed local and national standards for the Service, in collaboration with the management teams within the gastroenterology and endoscopy departments.

The role involves working across multiple sites.
1. To be competent in the delivery of endoscopy including OGD, FOS, Colonoscopy.
2. The promotion of clinical excellence in his / her practice through the implementation of research evidence based care and NICE guidelines.
3. Being responsible for the day to day function of their own caseload, assessing, implement ting and directing endoscopy cases. To include liaison with all members of the MDT, patients and their families, and in nurse/non-medical led endoscopy sessions.
4. Work autonomously as a Clinical endoscopist to deliver a differential diagnostic GI endoscopy service including delivering life-changing diagnoses, initiating treatment, and breaking bad news. The option to develop therapeutic GI endoscopy could be discussed.
5. Administer local anaesthetic and IV sedation to patients undergoing endoscopy in accordance with Trust policies and group protocols.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic trained nurse to join our established Coventry & Warwickshire Community TB Service. You will be working as part of the multi-disciplinary team providing high quality TB care in collaboration with other services within both the acute and primary care setting to provide a seamless service for people receiving TB treatment, their contacts and the wider community in accordance with nationally and locally agreed guidelines.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a suitable candidate wanting to develop their TB knowledge and to develop skills to become an autonomous practitioner within a specialist area of Tuberculosis. You must have the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The successful applicant will have their own case load of patients and will run nurse led clinics for treatment initiation and monitoring of patient with latent TB. As part of the TB team you will be involved with contact tracing, BCG clinics and New Entrant Screening. Also be able to carry pot outreach and Awreness work as required. Excellent communication skills and an ability to work with people with diverse health and social needs are essential.

A full and valid UK driving licence with daily access to a car for work purposes is essential for this post.
