The Consolidated Textile Processing Plant processes linens, patient clothing, uniforms and specialty items (operating room linens, bed pads, mops, restraints, bedspreads, etc.) for ten (10) medical centers: Brockton, West Roxbury, Boston, Bedford, Northampton, Providence RI, Manchester NH, West Haven/Newington CT, Togus ME and White River Junction VT. The organization also provides linen services to seven (7) outpatient clinics and maintains two linen service contracts with private industry. This organization processes approximately 7,920,000 pounds of laundry per year.

The major duties of the position include but are not limited to:

• Utilizes knowledge of laundry plant policies, procedures, facilities and operations associated with medical center laundry functions that cover a major region in order to plan and carry out the operations and scheduling requirements of the laundry plant to meet customer requirements and delivery times;
• Supervises a wage grade workforce through subordinate supervisors/leaders by following personnel management policies and procedures, union contracts, special emphasis programs, etc.;
• Analyzes and evaluates effectiveness of laundry operations and recommends changes;
• Communicates effectively orally and in writing with a wide variety of personnel and multiple installations;
• Assists the Chief in determining the allocation of available monetary resources to various functions within the Laundry Service and assists in maintaining control over funds allocated to assure the continued successful operation of the Laundry Service;
• Exercises responsibility for all routine actions and assignments and makes recommendations on actions affecting policy;
• Shares the primary responsibility with the Chief to administer, manage, direct and control all elements of the Laundry Service and ensures compliance with safety regulations, codes, etc.;
• Coordinates actions with other services to resolve inter-service problems;
• Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjust short term priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work;
• Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments and the capabilities of employees;
• Evaluates work performance of subordinates;
• Gives advice, counsel or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters;
• Interviews candidates for positions in the organization and recommends appointment, promotion or reassignment to such positions;
• Hears and resolves complaints from employees, refers group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher-level supervisor or manager;
• Deals with officials of other units or organizations, or in advising management officials of higher rank;
• Makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors, team leaders or similar personnel or by contractors; and
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

The Pulmonary, Sleep, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine Section at VA Boston Healthcare System seeks a board-certified full time sleep specialist to serve as a director the VA Boston sleep medicine program.

The successful candidate will join a staff of two physicians and one physician assistant sleep specialists providing care for a diverse veteran population at three Boston area VA Boston divisions. The program includes a 4-bed Sleep Laboratory, active Home Sleep Apnea Testing Program, busy outpatient clinics, with equipment services provided by a talented staff of RPSGTs.

The practice mix can include exclusively Sleep Medicine, a combination of Sleep and Pulmonary Medicine, and research depending on the candidate's interests. There is an active basic science sleep research program at VA Boston that includes 7 investigators with funding from the VA and NIH. Their programs at the VA offer excellent opportunity for clinician researchers to establish collaborative investigations at the preclinical level in animal models or establish their own program. The System comprises three major campuses and five community-based outpatient clinics. VABHS is the largest recipient of VA intramural research funds and ranks among the top VA facilities in total research funding.

The Assistant Section Chief is responsible for managing Provider schedules and leave. This person is responsible for Provider onboarding, education and training. He or She will resolve front line clinical care questions and/or concerns. The Assistant Chief will collaborate with the Service Line Manager to develop performance expectations for Physicians and complete annual proficiencies including Pay for Performance, FPPEs and OPPEs. Work closely with the Primary Care (PC) Service Chief to determine appropriate MCA labor mapping, panel size and PCMM FTE. This incumbent is required to work with other clinical services such as Specialty Care, Radiology, Mental Health, Laboratory, Urgent Care as well as GEC/CLC. Develop and supervise clinical education programs for PC Providers and Trainees. Participate in groups created for PC Leadership including VISN and National calls when the Service Chief is absent. He or She is required to travel to CBOCs on a regular basis as well as travel to conferences and meetings. This position will be 40% Administrative Duties and 60% Clinical Duties. This position may be required to cover intermittently, PACT teams and same day services as a gap and float Provider. Other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Product Management is a global position leading a team of seasoned product managers responsible for the growth and profitability of the Integrated Analytical Solutions business line portfolio.  The Product Managers own the various fluidic product lines life cycle management and work cross-functionally in the development of high-performance fluidic components and sub-assemblies for the LC-MS market analytical and sample prep workflows.   

Responsibilities include team leadership, product portfolio strategy and day-to-day execution for our business.  This cross-functional role will work together with our Sales, Marketing, Engineering and Operations teams to support the business line. This position is an integral part of the business unit’s leadership team and requires leadership coaching and development of direct reports. 

A strong track record in product management, product life cycle management, strategic planning, roadmap design, pricing excellence, product development, customer relationship management, and outstanding team leadership skills is critical to success.  You will need to be a self-directed, highly motivated individual with strong business acumen as well as have technical understanding of life science markets. Domestic and international travel of up to 25% is required.

The Director of Product Management will drive sustained growth and profitability of the Integrated Analytical Solutions portfolio.  This is achieved by establishing best practices and processes for your direct reports, which includes, owning the global portfolio strategy and contributing to the business line strategic plan.  You will also lead activities associated with setting the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) including, reporting, and orders forecasting. 

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Lead, and develop a multi-disciplined product management including talent acquisition, training, and enablement for success. Responsible for the success of a high-performing business team through effective coaching and development.
• Provide product management leadership, from concept to commercialization to obsolescence. Develop long-range product strategies and guide fiscal planning for future positioning, growth, and evolution of the portfolio.  This includes identifying, establishing, and managing strategic relationships with customers, suppliers, and industry key opinion leaders. This role is ultimately responsible for revenue, margin, customer intimacy, and market share objectives.
• Champions successful product launch through voice of customer, requirement gathering, research and development, product value proposition, business case and commercialization. Work closely with cross-functional teams, for the ultimate customer and financial success of new product introductions (NPIs)
• Analyze and incorporate impact of key markets, technical trends, customer needs and competitive offerings for products in the analytical life sciences field. Develop differentiated product roadmaps, rank new product features and functionalities, and recommend investments to drive portfolio growth.
• Serve as a champion with internal cross-functional stakeholders and drive for synergies across business units and segments. Will maintain close interaction with commercial teams through training and active participation in the sales process, including customer visits, pricing tactics, and customer support.
• Work closely with Business Development to deepen business partnerships, and/or acquisition strategies to expand product portfolio.
• Ensure pricing framework enables sales success by determining price excellence approach with value offering, providing appropriate level of pricing/discounting, responding to competitive opportunities, and meeting profitability objectives.
• Develop and deliver go to market strategies, technical capability documents, educational content, product training, sales tools, and application specific targeting strategies to enable the sales team and define product level value proposition to enhance customer journey across all channels.
• Champion an “8020 for growth” culture to drive alignment across functions and disciplines in support of the customer. Manage the business based on customer needs utilizing pertinent metrics to measure business performance.
• Own product lifecycle management, portfolio strategy, voice of customer for prioritization & requirement gathering, defining the product vision, conducting market research and quarterly win/loss analysis to inform and drive the strategic roadmap for portfolio product line.
• Develop comprehensive product requirements based off voice of customer (VoC) and work cross functionally with strategic teams to generate business cases that aid in the justification and prioritization of new products.   

WHAT DO WE NEED?

• Bachelor’s degree required; A Master’s or PhD preferred. MBA strongly preferred.
• Experience in developing or commercializing products that serve the life sciences analytical end market is a plus.
• A minimum of 10+years of experience in strategic marketing and product management in life sciences.
• A minimum of 5+ years of people management and business leadership.
• Demonstrated capability in reading technology and market trends, and strategically planning future product opportunities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead, coach, mentor safety culture for Brunswick Integrated Manufacturing Center in Sykes Creek, Edgewater, and Flagler facilities.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Boston Medical Center Health System is a ~$7B system whose mission is to provide Exceptional Care without Exception. The Health System includes a tertiary academic medical center a network of community health centers, a health plan and an affiliated accountable care organization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

BMCHS and other healthcare partners are building a team that aims to reduce disparities in health outcomes contributing most to premature mortality and health inequities across our primary care population and members of the communities served by BMC and other healthcare partners. The Operations Director will work in partnership with the leadership of Population Health, the Health Equity Accelerator, and other key clinical and operational stakeholders across BMC and other healthcare partners to design and implement a community based program to reduce disparities. The vision of this team is to create a community-based model that provides enhanced supports to patients with diabetes and/or hypertension. The program will staff a team of clinical specialists in pharmacy, nutrition, social work, and nursing as well as community health workers, population health and outreach specialists that will care for patients in the community based program. In addition, the team will lead necessary data architecture work to implement innovations such as a patient registry tool and be responsible for research evaluation.

• Lead the design of the Community Health Equity team in partnership with a multidisciplinary group of leaders from Population Health, the Health Equity Accelerator, and other key clinical and operational stakeholders across BMC and its partners to design community health equity programs, identify performance opportunities, set measurable targets, and develop central and local support processes to drive equity improvement. Design activities will include workflows, staffing, and governance structure.
• Partner with Human Resources to source, interview, and select staff for the Community Health Equity team.
• Prepare, justify and present strategic plans, business cases and budgets; while measuring and reporting the impact of different strategies and programs.
• Work requires the analytical ability necessary to analyze operations, develop systems and programs to coordinate the efficient flow of patient visits, treatments and appointments, develop short- and long-term strategic to meet objectives, develop operating and capital budgets, evaluate productivity, and develop business plans.
• Partner with data analysts and clinical IT to design a workflow to provide access to enrollees patient information with relevant staff members (e.g. CHW, RN, Pharmacists, RDs) and close the loop with communication back to primary care providers. 
• Work requires advanced interpersonal skills and political savvy necessary to work effectively with multi-disciplinary work groups (e.g., physician practice groups, hospital administrators and managers, nurse management staff, fiscal staff and professional staff), act as a liaison to medical staff, negotiate contracts and purchasing agreements, effect changes in operations, policies, procedures and systems and provide guidance and direction to assigned managers. Advanced interpersonal skills are also required to work effectively in a matrix style organization where reporting areas often have complex relationships with the hospital and division (e.g., Physician Practice Groups, Contracted Services, and Nurse Management Structures).
• Supervise the operational work of the team, act as liaison with all the relevant departments and community organizations and continue to refine the design of the program as it grows. Develop and monitor a set of KPIs to track reach and outcome of the team’s work.
• Support Partnerships Manager in creating bi-directional processes for exchanging patient information with community organizations. 
• Partner effectively with community programs and service organizations in the design, implementation, and sustainability of the program.

• The Operations Director may also participate in the planning and management of additional innovations to further equitable delivery of care. In addition to the direct management of a central team, the director will also be responsible (with clinical leadership) for support of system-wide initiatives to reduce disparities. For example, harmonizing outreach protocols, developing linguistically/culturally appropriate screening tools, etc.
• Once the team is operational, the Operations Director will continue to work as the administrative leader for the community health equity team to ensure clinical and operational outcomes are met in a productive and cost effective manner. The director will work with stakeholders to provide for the identification, analysis and development of operating policies, systems, programs and standards.
• Maintains clinic policy and procedure manual. Adheres to performance standards as outlined by the Joint Commission.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Population Health is a key leadership position in the Population Health Services Division at Boston Medical Center Health System (BMCHS).  The Population Health Services Division serves as the central hub for programs that drive performance in the Medicaid ACO.  As a Senior Leader in the Population Health Services Division, the Director of Population Health will define strategic priorities across key performance drivers and oversee implementation and performance management at ACO partners. 

As part of the new MassHealth initiative to transform healthcare via formation of Medicaid ACOs, Boston Medical Center Health System has partnered with providers across the state to share risk in caring for Medicaid populations.  In order to succeed in the Medicaid ACO, BMCHS is rapidly designing and implementing a number of programs that improve quality of care for Medicaid populations, reduce health inequities, as well as manage utilization and total cost of care.

• Quality improvement:  The MassHealth ACO program includes a full set of quality metrics.  The set of quality metrics encompasses a broad range of focus areas including adult primary care, pediatrics, behavioral health, and other outcomes-based measures.  In partnership with Quality leaders at BMCHS and ACO partners, the Director will help define and execute a Quality program performance strategy.
• Accurate Risk Adjustment:  Performance targets in the MassHealth ACO program are in part determined by the assigned risk level of the attributed population.  The Director will be responsible for defining a network-wide framework for accurate risk coding

Specific duties and requirements:

• Health Equity:
  • Develop strategies to maximize Health Equity incentive earnings across BMCHS ACO Partners including through BMCHS efforts (incl. WellSense Health Plan) or local provider efforts
  • Work with ACO partners and their local management teams to develop and implement strategies, initiatives, and approaches to advance health equity within their health systems

The Center advances law and policy reforms to strengthen population health, reduce health disparities, nourish public health programs, and enhance access to affordable, high-quality healthcare. Housed in the School of Law and firmly rooted in Northeastern University’s nine academic colleges and international network of campuses, the Center brings together Northeastern faculty, students, and experts across disciplines to share knowledge; conduct and disseminate research; and influence the formulation and implementation of health policy and law.

About the Salus Populi:

Salus Populi: Educating the Judiciary about the Social Determinants of Health (SP) is a project in collaboration with the Center for Health Policy and Law (CHPL) at Northeastern University School of Law and the Institute for Health Equity and Social Justice Research (Institute) at Northeastern University that seeks to provide guidance and training to judges and lawyers on the impact of the law on the social determinants of health (SDOH). Funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), CHPL has received a two year grant to train judges about the SDOH, with the goal of moving judges to render decisions that support health equity. The program will also train lawyers and other court personnels.  The SP judicial education program is a tuition-free, interactive, and discussion-oriented course that will provide judges with the tools they need to recognize how the SDOH impact the issues that come before courts and to read and evaluate public health research relating to the SDOH.

Since its start, SP has trained over 585 attendees from all over the country. The team consists of faculty and staff from both CHPL and the Institute.

Responsibilities:

1) Strategic Leadership and Supervision:

• Develop and implement program plan to advance the goals of current programs and initiatives
• Shape and execute the strategic direction of current goals and initiatives, including fundraising efforts, with an emphasis on strategic partnerships and collaborations.
• Serve as a mentor and supervisor for staff, student interns and research assistants, fostering their growth and development within the organization

2) Organizational Management:

• Serve as a member of the Salus Populi leadership team
• Supervise the legal research and drafting activities and deliverables for the project in collaboration with the project’s Principal Investigator
• Draft and edit curricula and program materials;
• Research and draft academic papers and other deliverables;
• Draft other communications related to the project;
• Supervise and guide legal and undergraduate research assistants;
• Serve as a course instructor for most of the Salus Populi judicial and legal education program sessions.

3) Grant Management:

• Manage grant-funded projects, including by managing budget and  supervising and training staff, to ensure that deliverables, including trainings, curriculum development and publications are completed in a timely and successful manner.
• Provide insights and expertise to ensure projects fit funding criteria, are feasible within budgetary constraints, and align with program objectives.
• Help identify and secure future grant opportunities, including  drafting funding proposals
• Monitor expenses against the budget throughout the project timeline
• In collaboration with CHPL’s managing director, identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration and/or funding.
• Liaise with NUSL Finance and NURes for grant management and reporting

4) Partnership Management: 

• Oversee partners and collaborators, acting as the primary point of contact and liaison with SP.
• Strategically shape and direct content creation for the SP website and maintain a presence across social media platforms.
• Oversight of relevant listservs,  ensuring communications and outreach for SP.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• JD or equivalent degree and at least 5 years of relevant work experience (e.g. higher education, nonprofit, legal practice, government), including at least 5 years working in the legal field.
• Extensive knowledge of public health law and health policy.
• Demonstrated commitment to health equity and diversity and inclusion and a proven ability to work with a diverse group of students, staff, and faculty.
• Strong attention to detail and proven ability to successfully plan, execute, and monitor complex projects with multiple stakeholders and deliverables.
• At least 1-2 years of grant writing and administration experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, this includes the ability to facilitate meetings, conduct presentations and draft reports and legal arguments.
• A demonstrated ability to analyze and advocate for health policy changes based on research findings and legal analysis.
• Demonstrated commitment to health equity and DEIB
• Must be self-directed, able to make independent decisions.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• A MPH or equivalent degree
