GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job participates in the development, planning, implementation, and operation of departmental projects and services; works with pharmacy director to establish short and long range departmental goals and objectives; assumes responsibility for day-to-day operations and assists with systems, regulatory requirements and performance improvement.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plans, organizes, implements, and controls the preparation, distribution, and data processing activities and operations in pharmacy. Responsible to ensure that operational processes and hospital's standards and objectives are being met. Recommends, develops and implements short and long-range plans to streamline and maintain operations. (20%)
• Develops operational guidelines and introduction and education of new products and procedures to the staff. (20%)
• Supervises the activities of pharmacy staff in conjunction with Pharmacy Practice Supervisor or Pharmacist. Clarifies work expectations, and promotes staff cooperation. (20%)
• Performs the duties of a Pharmacy Practice Supervisor or Pharmacist as needed. (10%)
• Assists with the development, implementation and administration of hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Assists with personnel activities including interviewing, staffing, corrective action, and performance appraisals. (10%)
• Participates in performance improvement and regulatory compliance efforts and maintains an attitude that promotes and fosters an environment of safety. Assists in the development and implementation of performance improvement initiatives and oversite of regulatory requirements. (10%)
• Assists the Director of Pharmacy with the preparation and monitoring of the annual labor and non-labor budgets. Assists in the development and implementation of plans to control costs, including as necessary assurance that all patient daily billing is completed accurately. Assists with 340B management as applicable. (10%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm D) and 5 years experience as a staff pharmacist
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of PA at hire or sit for boards and obtain licensure within 120 days.

Preferred

• Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Business or Health Care Management.
• Pharmacy residency program.
• Previous supervisory experience.

POSITION SUMMARY

2. Supervises the day to day activity of team members who provide administrative support to GME programs ensuring a high level of productivity. Continuously monitors the functioning of GME processes and recommends changes to operational procedures as necessary. Brings to leaderships attention any potential problems, serious issues, or situations that have not been resolved in a timely manner. Establishes and promotes teamwork and collaboration between individuals, departments, and the entire organization.

3. Interviews, selects, and hires qualified department team members. Provides formal training, orientation and on-the-job training. Ensures the ongoing competency of team members through coaching and the evaluation of team member performance in a fair and consistent manner.

4. Accountable for the daily operational performance of the department. Makes decisions – guided by policies, procedures and accreditation requirements. Improves efficiency and accomplishes operational objectives. Serves as a role model and resource person for providing exceptional customer service. Works within budgetary/financial objectives set by finance and monitors monthly financial reports for variances and adheres to the annual budget.

5. Builds and supports effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and organizations. Coordinates activities, reviews work, exchanges information, and/or resolves problems related to graduate medical education. Lead and participates in institution wide improvement activities through sharing lessons learned and best practices to facilitates continuous improvements.

6. Coordinates recruitment and interview events and logistics. Ensure all annual credentialing and other hospital and Department requirements are met for each trainee within the assigned program.

7. Collaborate with the Program Director, APD, and/or Program Chief(s) to design and implement yearly rotation and vacation schedules for house staff. Work performed is reportable to the Graduate Medical Education Leaderships. Serves on at least one GME subcommittee annually.

8. Maintains accurate records on all current and former house staff necessary to verify successful completion of residency program using the Residency Management Software Prepares all cyclical reports for residents, staff and attending physicians. Maintains discretion relative to confidential and sensitive residency/fellowship issues.

9. Internal contacts include physicians, administration, and employees. External customers include various medical education accreditation agencies and federal, state and local regulatory agencies for medical education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess knowledge of medical education coordination as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor’s degree in business, human relations or related field.

Must have C-TAGME or acquire the certification within one year. Must possess or obtain active Notary Public commission within 90 days of hire.

Must possess an understanding of graduate medical education as normally demonstrated with five years of experience in graduate medical education. Requires prior supervisory experience, strong research and organizational abilities. Requires excellent interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to guide and lead others. 7. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in nursing or other healthcare related field (i.e.: Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, etc.).

If in a profession that requires licensure, current licensure/certification/registration is required for state worked.

Requires a proficiency level typically attained with five years acute care clinical experience. Requires at least two years management experience or demonstrated leadership abilities through

successful large scale projects. Requires ability to perform complex statistical analysis and highly developed problem-solving skills. Requires the ability to manage programs and projects. Requires demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and written communication skills.

This is a full-time position that will provide day coverage Monday through Friday and will require occasional weekend coverage. This role will assist in treatment plans, psycho-social assessments, group therapy, and discharge planning as well as collaborate with families and outpatient resources for our Adult and Geriatric patient populations. Previous experience in Behavioral Health Case Management is preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires master’s degree in social work or related field or equivalent experience.

Requires a proficiency level typically achieved with 5 years clinical experience and as required by state law, a licensure in at least one of the following categories: social work, professional counseling or marriage and family. (Certification requires two years post graduate experience in a mental health setting or equivalent combination of education and documented supervised clinical experience.)

Positions providing direct services to substance abuse program patients must also possess board licensure in addictions as required by state.

The Opportunity

The Regulatory Affairs Manager will work out of our Maple Grove, MN location for our Electrophysiology division. As a manager, the function of a Manager Regulatory Affairs is to combine knowledge of scientific, regulatory and business issues to enable products that are developed, manufactured or distributed to meet required legislation. This new team member will develop and supervise regulatory professionals as well as share knowledge and expertise with others in support of team activities. The individual has department/group/site level influence and is generally recognized as an expert and resource within the department. This Regulatory Affairs Manager may analyze broad scope implications of changing regulations and guidance. Additionally, may identify data needed, obtain this data, and ensure that they are effectively presented for the registration of products worldwide.

What You’ll Work On

• Develop new regulatory policies, processes and SOPs and train key personnel on them.  Evaluate regulatory risks of division policies, processes, procedures. Recruit, develop and manage regulatory professionals.

The Patient Access Services Associate Manager for Banner Desert Medical Center main responsibility is maintaining the schedule for 24/7 coverage and communicating with the employees. Monitoring individual reps performance, metrics and attendance. Conducts coaching and corrective action conversations. The Associate Manager oversees 27 employees and handles any call outs anytime during the week. Needs to be comfortable having difficult and behavioral conversations. We are the busiest Emergency Room in Arizona, with also the most employees in the ED lots of room for career growth. 

Typically Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm (will be required to flex schedule to meet with staff on other shifts or as business needs permit)

Oversees 27 employees 24/7. Leader on call rotation for weekend coverage.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position directs, trains and assures the work quality of a team of patient financial services staff members. Through effective leadership, this position creates high quality service to patients, providers, payors and staff for services such as billing, collections, registration, scheduling, admitting and financial counseling. Holds responsibility for achieving designated team work goals.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Under direction of PAS Director and/or Sr. Manager, provides mentoring and clear developmental opportunities to staff. Able to demonstrate the ability to have a solid succession plan in place. Selects, trains, coaches, motivates, conducts performance evaluations, and directs the workflow for the Patient Access Services staff. Develops goals and performance expectations for staff.

2. Performs random and/or focused audits to ensure accuracy of staff's work meets compliance standards and is minimizing registration initiated initial denials. May work directly with staff to provide education, support, feedback, identifying trends and workflow opportunities.

3. Ensures all staff have clear expectations (including BSS). Ensures there is accountability to expectations that are set including counseling/disciplinary action and termination of assigned staff (including BSS).

4. Coordinates team activities and the staff-to-workload ratios to accomplish the most effective use of resources. Schedules and supervises the work of assigned staff to achieve the defined business goals and to ensure smooth work flow in the department.

5. Creates a work environment for employees through team building, coaching, constructive feedback, work delegation, personal example and goal setting that encourages creativity, open dialogue on work issues, professional growth, and a consistent, high level of performance; encourages and supports employee decision-making within his or her scope of responsibilities. Interviews, hires staff.

6. Assists department management with employee meetings, budget preparation, strategic planning and expense control in areas assigned. Supports and assists in department functions/responsibilities as needed based on volume and workload.

7. Ensures new hires are properly onboarded. This includes successful training/precepting and auditing new hire work at 100% until new hire is consistently meeting performance standards. Auditing can be delegated as a mentoring opportunity, but responsibility of successful onboarding belongs to leader.

8. Develops expertise for all applications utilized in Patient Access including related information systems, tools, technologies, and processes; assist other employees as needed to ensure all tools are fully utilized to create an efficient and effective department. Effectively collaborates with peers and other leaders across the organization in order to enhance workflow and the customer experience.

9. Works under limited supervision following defined procedures and holds responsibility for the performance of the assigned work group. Typically supervises 15-20 non-exempt staff members. Internal and external customers include all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians and their office staff, patients, families, government agencies, insurers, social services, payor organizations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires the knowledge and business skills normally demonstrated by an Associate’s degree in Business Management or equivalent education and/or experience.

Requires a proficiency level typically achieved in three to five years in office management and/or employee supervision or leadership in healthcare insurance and billing. Business skills and experience in the assigned work area are required. Advanced abilities in the use of common office software, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software are required. Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and to work independently. Excellent organizational skills, human relations, and communication skills required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Work experience in billing Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, and other state Medicaid plans, Medicare billing, experience with all insurance types, hospital admitting experience, and experience with the company’s billing system are preferred. Demonstrated success in a leadership role is a plus.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

The Opportunity

This role will be with the Abbott Electrophysiology Division and work be located in Plymouth, MN.  In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

The Category and Supplier Relationship team within Electrophysiology is responsible for the development and execution of category and supplier strategy for all direct material purchases.   This role will support and influence internal/external stakeholders to ensure engagement, alignment, and business readiness to drive improvements in quality, sustainability, supply chain risk, total cost of ownership, and technological capability of our supply base. This divisional role provides an opportunity to lead and work within diverse multi-functional teams and will collaborate with Global Procurement other Abbott Divisions.

What You’ll Work On

• Develop and guide implementation of category and supplier management strategies which support business growth and profitability objectives.
• Provides vision, leadership and direction withing the Category Strategy & Supplier Relationship Organization.
• Support annual operating plan,  long term goal setting (KPIs).
• Develop and lead long-term, customer focused supply chain solutions (VMI, Kanban, Supplier Portals,).
• Lead Category or Supplier Managers, who select global strategic suppliers, negotiate large complex development and supply contracts, develop supply chain commodity management strategies, prepare cost analysis, negotiate and manage contracts, and manage supplier relations.
• This position will provide strategy and contract negotiation leadership to the organization, with specific emphasis on complex contracts for Third Party Manufacturing/Outsourcing and Electronics Categories. 
• Additionally, this position needs to work directly with Program Management, R&D and New Product engineering teams to create effective supply chain strategies.
• This position also partners with Supply Chain Project leaders in the support of special projects and improvement objectives.
• Leverages core business systems (SAP) and various software technologies to provide continuous improvements.
• Drive initiatives for development and redesign of processes that optimize carrying cost, operational cost, obsolescence cost, and service levels.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance or related field.
• Progressively responsible experience in materials management/purchasing.
• 7 years’ experience working in a highly regulated environment and proven familiarity with applicable regulations.
• 5 years’ experience working with MRP, DRP, ERP, forecasting, inventory management within SAP or similar system software.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

The Social Work Case Manager in Care Management is a professional clinician that utilizes principles of care coordination to support patients and their families/caregivers.  The incumbent collaborates with the interdisciplinary team of providers, clinicians, health plans, and external partners while advocating for patients and families/caregivers to coordinate care across the continuum.  The incumbent is an integral member of the Care Management team that works to improve the quality of care, patient experience, and the health of populations and individuals by focusing on the social determinants of health impacting wellness. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contributes to and/or completes initial and ongoing comprehensive assessment.  Provides interventions and implements recommendations after engaging patients and their caregivers/families.  Focuses on the individual's risk related to social determinants of health to assure successful coordination of care across the continuum. (30%)
• Collaborates to provide the safest transition plan for assigned patients (Inpatient/Observation/ED) in order to ensure a timely discharge and provide appropriate connection with post-discharge care providers and community based resources. (25%)
• Educates patient, family/caregiver and physician regarding most appropriate level of care post discharge and how to access community support.  Advocates for the patient, family/caregiver through effectively communicating with interdisciplinary team members, payers and post acute partners to assure the safest transition. (20%)
• Serves as a resource to provide counseling and intervention related to treatment decisions and end-of-life issues.  Drives collaborative conversations to establish goals of care.  Provides crisis interventions in cases involving Child Abuse and Neglect, Domestic Violence, Adult and Older Adult Abuse, Institutional Abuse Sexual Assault, Mental Health Disorders, Substance Use Disorders, and Identification of a Surrogate Decision Maker/Guardianship. (15%)
• Promotes individual professional growth and development through certification, mentoring/precepting, and/or participation on department/hospital/system committees. (5%)
• Supports Department based goals that contribute to the success of the organization. (5%)
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• Master's degree in Social Work (Obtain within 6 months of hire)
• Experience in a hospital or health care setting
• LSW required within 1 year of hire.  Incumbents in the role on or before 12/31/2022 have until 12/31/2023 to obtain.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides comprehensive care coordination for patients as assigned. The intensity of care coordination provided is situational and appropriate based on patient need and payer requirements. This position is accountable for the clinical quality of Care Coordination services delivered by both them and others and identifies/resolves barriers which may hinder effective patient care. The goal is to empower the patient and the family to participate to the fullest of their abilities in the discharge planning process. This position provides developmentally appropriate care for the population that it serves which includes planning for the safe discharge, continuity of care, the ability to recognize and plan for the unique needs of all ages as well as the physically disabled, mentally ill, chronically ill and terminally ill patient.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Manages individual patients across the health care continuum to achieve the optimal clinical care, financial, operational, and satisfaction outcomes.

2. Acts in a leadership function with process improvement activities for populations of patients to achieve the optimal clinical, financial, operational, and satisfaction outcomes.

3. Acts in a leadership function to collaboratively develop and manage the interdisciplinary patient discharge plan. Effectively communicates the plan across the continuum of care.

4. Maintains knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and other program benefits to assist patients with discharge planning and choices. Knowledge of community resources relevant to health care, end of life dynamics, substance abuse, abuse, neglect, and domestic violence.

5. Establishes and promotes a collaborative relationship with physicians, payers, and other members of the health care team. Collects and communicates pertinent, timely information to payers and others to fulfill utilization and regulatory requirements.

6. Educates internal members of the health care team on case management and managed care concepts. Facilitates integration of concepts into daily practice.

7. May supervise other staff.

8. Has freedom to determine how to best accomplish functions within established procedures. Confers with supervisor on any unusual situations. Positions are entity based with no budgetary responsibility. Internal customers: Patients, families, all levels of nursing management and staff, medical staff, and all other members of the interdisciplinary health care team. External Customers: Physicians and their office staff, payers, community agencies, provider networks, and regulatory agencies.
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess knowledge of case management or utilization review as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree in case management or health care.

Requires current Registered Nurse (R.N.) license in state worked. For assignments in an acute care setting, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
 

Requires a proficiency level typically achieved with 2-3 years clinical experience. Must demonstrate critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and time management skills. Must demonstrate ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team format. May have to take rotating call based on the acute facility need. Banner Registry and Travel positions require a minimum of one year Case Manager experience in an acute care hospital.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Certification for CCM (Certified Case Manager) preferred.
