What You’ll Be Doing:

Response is looking for an enthusiastic, caring person to join their dedicated team at Rowan House. Rowan House is home to 25 residents with acute mental health needs, working alongside the Adult Mental Health Team. Our roles offer employees variety where every day is different whilst also giving a great sense of pride seeing the positive impact you can have on others.

As a Senior Mental Health Support Worker, you will be responsible for leading shifts, medication management, delegate tasks, manage incidents, monitor the health & safety of the project and residents. You will mentor support workers, leading by positive example alongside having your own case load. You will be responsible for providing person-centred support to clients with serious mental illness including adults who have a primary diagnosis of a psychotic illness often with one or more coexisting conditions such physical health issues, neurodiversity, drugs & alcohol use and cognitive impairment.

Lead shifts, delegating set diarised and daily tasks
Take the lead during incidents, safeguarding and complaints in the absence of the manager, ensuring policies and procedures are adhered.
Ensure all staff are completing relevant health and safety tasks
Mentor new support workers through induction including the completion of the Care Certificate and medication training. Complete the care certificate assessors training.
Work within a One Team Approach and ensure this culture permiates through out the team and lead by example.
Respond to service phone queries and requests from both internal and external customers in a timely manner and delegating where appropriate to other members of the team.
Undertake assessments of referrals and attend regular assessment and risk management training.
Provide emotional support, encouragement, and practical assistance to residents with daily living activities. This may include medication assistance, engaging with interests, education, accessing community groups/facilities, employment, teaching life skills such as shopping, budgeting, using public transport and skills such as planning to prepare and cook meals, maintain accommodation.
Ensure risk is continuously assessed and risk management plans are kept up to date
Comply and remain up to date with all safeguarding policies and procedures for both Adults and Children and Young People

Our newly built, state-of-the-art residence is situated on the edge of this picturesque village of Harwell, with glorious views of the surrounding countryside. Working with Residents’ and families to deliver high level person-centered care.
Being a key worker/Manager to the Care staff on shift, whilst providing the highest standard of hands-on care
Liaising with other health professionals and relatives to achieve the best outcome for each Resident.
Maintaining a safe environment for staff, Residents, and visitors according to Health and Safety and CQC requirements whilst always maintaining thorough and up to date records on each Resident.

To provide high quality and appropriate routine and emergency oral healthcare to patients. Provision of dental care for special care children and adults including those who are medically compromised. To work within current local and national guidelines for providing dental care. To be involved in the paediatric dental outpatient general anaesthesia service. To provide care for homeless persons. To provide domiciliary care for patients who are unable to access the dental clinics. To participate in any screening, epidemiology and other dental public health activities that the service provides. Liaise with colleagues in hospitals, primary care and local authorities to ensure and improve the quality of patient care. To work collaboratively and support the various teams and staff in Oxfordshire Community Dental Service including dental therapist and Health Improvement Practitioners. Manage the day to day operations and staff of clinics in liaison with the other Senior Dental Officers/Lead Clinicians/ Specialists. To assume a leadership role in a clinical area and/or a geographical locality/team as appropriate To take an active role in conjunction with other Senior Clinical colleagues in the teaching of clinical skills to other members of the dental team as appropriate. Support the senior management team as required. Monitor and update policy, taking account of existing Trust policies and liaising with other Senior Dental Officers/Lead Clinicians/Specialists. Undertake training as required by the Trusts and as needed to maintain standards of clinical practice. Take part in all aspects of clinical governance, including GDC lifelong learning, clinical audit, peer review and clinical supervision. Senior Mental Health Support Worker - £26,500 - £29,500 per annum (Salaries vary depending on experiences) Plus additional sleep-in payment per sleep in shift.

Hours – 37 hours per week, Monday – Sunday, inclusive of bank holidays, shifts include mornings, evenings, weekends and sleep ins.

Service – Scrutton Close, Oxford.

What You’ll Be Doing:

The Scrutton Close team focus on supporting clients within their own accommodation. Staff offer a high level of support, and work closely with clients to achieve their personal goals and gain increased independence before taking the next step in their journey. Scrutton is staffed 24 hours, 7 days a week, with a sleep-in employee available from 11pm until 7am.

As a Senior Mental Health Support Worker, you will be responsible for leading shifts, medication management, delegate tasks, manage incidents, monitor the health & safety of the project and residents. You will mentor support workers, leading by positive example alongside having your own case load. You will be responsible for providing person-centred support to clients with serious mental illness including adults who have a primary diagnosis of a psychotic illness often with one or more coexisting conditions such physical health issues, neurodiversity, drugs & alcohol use and cognitive impairment.

Lead shifts, delegating set diarised and daily tasks
Take the lead during incidents, safeguarding and complaints in the absence of the manager, ensuring policies and procedures are adhered.
Ensure all staff are completing relevant health and safety tasks
Mentor new support workers through induction including the completion of the Care Certificate and medication training. Complete the care certificate assessors training.
Work within a One Team Approach and ensure this culture permiates through out the team and lead by example.
Respond to service phone queries and requests from both internal and external customers in a timely manner and delegating where appropriate to other members of the team.
Undertake assessments of referrals and attend regular assessment and risk management training.
Provide emotional support, encouragement, and practical assistance to residents with daily living activities. This may include medication assistance, engaging with interests, education, accessing community groups/facilities, employment, teaching life skills such as shopping, budgeting, using public transport and skills such as planning to prepare and cook meals, maintain accommodation.
Ensure risk is continuously assessed and risk management plans are kept up to date
Comply and remain up to date with all safeguarding policies and procedures for both Adults and Children and Young People
