As a Pharmacy Stores Assistant, the post holder will be working within both of our inpatient and outpatient dispensaries and be responsible for providing an effective and efficient stores and distribution service to all wards, departments, and off-site locations. The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly to support our busy Pharmacy Stores Team.
The position involves assisting in the provision of safe unloading and storage of pharmaceutical goods in accordance with local and national guidelines. This role also involves receiving, receipt and distribution of pharmacy deliveries from approved suppliers.
This is a physical role, entailing manual handling.

As a Pharmacy Stores Assistant your main duties and responsibilities will include the following:
1) To ensure the safe unloading and storage of goods in accordance with local and national guidelines.
2) To ensure goods are correctly recorded and distributed within agreed timescales.
3) To ensure delivery notes are checked and any stock discrepancies are rectified.
4) Receiving, receipt and distribution of pharmacy deliveries from approved suppliers whilst achieving the agreed level of quality required by the Trust.
5) Assist in the process of invoice payment through electronic systems.
6) Communicate with suppliers to resolve any stock issues.
7) Assist with distribution of goods to the Trust under our wholesale license.
8) To work effectively within a team.
9) To undertake other roles within the department as requested by the pharmacy management team. Supporting activities around the patient flow.
10) To undertake personal development as identified through performance and appraisal reviews.
11) Pharmacy stock date and temperature checking
12) Preparing stock orders for various wards, departments, and outreach sites.
13) Understanding and following COSHH procedures when handling potentially hazardous stock such as cytotoxic medicines.
14) Assisting in the management and maintenance of pharmacy stock levels.
15) Demonstrates the agreed set of values and accountable for own attitude and behaviour.
The Christie Pharmacy Ltd Company (TCP) is a wholly owned subsidiary company, which is part of The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. The company was formed in December 2017 to provide a high-quality pharmacy service to both inpatients and outpatients of the Trust.
