An exciting opportunity has arisen to support a client within their own home with complex needs.Due to level of care required the client requires a team of health care assistants to support with their clinical care. Support will involve medication administration,moving and handling as well as social involvement.

This vacancy utilises a monthly rolling rota.

With the following shift pattern: 12 hour day shift, 12 hour waking night shift and 12 hour sleep in night.

The role involves providing care and support to in-patients currently experiencing acute mental health difficulties requiring an inpatient admission

Commitment to meeting the needs of people with mental health problems and valuing their rights is a pre-requisite.

Maidstone Hospital, situated in the heart of the Kent countryside, covers a large population and includes the regional Oncology centre which is expanding in support of the Kent cancer network.

The Histology department provides services for Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trusts, Medway NHS Foundation Trust and Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust. Consequently there is a combined Histology workload of around 88,000 cases per year. The department carries out a wide range of investigations including various specialist resections from hospitals within the Kent & Medway.

Working for Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust you will be part of the Kent and Medway Pathology Network (South 8 network). Kent and Medway Pathology Network is made up of seven laboratories across three pathology services in four acute Trusts – East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust and North Kent Pathology Services (hosted by Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust and providing services to Medway Foundation Trust).

An exciting opportunity has arisen for registered nurses who are looking to develop their nursing career to join Mercer Ward at Maidstone Hospital as a Junior Sister/ Charge Nurse.

We are a 26 mixed bedded Elderly Care Ward - you will be supported through your journey by other Band 6 staff members, the Ward Manager and the multidisciplinary team.

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic nurse with an interest in developing their leadership skills to join our existing team. The post holder will be expected to support the consultant-led service across a range of tumour types. As a member of the Kent Oncology Centre there will be a commitment to participate fully in a Kent wide approach to the delivery of cancer care. This includes attendance at governance meetings, multi-disciplinary team meetings and the practice of cross-referral with other site specialists.

We are currently recruiting a Junior Clinical Fellow to join our team!

The Kent Oncology Centre, receives approximately 8,000 new patients every year and is within the top 25% of Trusts in the UK for cancer waiting times, meeting the 85% 62-day national standard since August 2019. We deliver Oncology Outpatient Services to a number of Providers across East and West Kent.

The Centre has an income of circa £50m and is home to a custom designed department at Maidstone which opened in April 1993 and dedicated radiotherapy, chemotherapy and outpatient facilities at Canterbury as part of the main District General Hospital, which was upgraded in 2012.

Our chemotherapy units, based at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospitals, work alongside a dedicated cancer pharmacy and aseptics unit and are run by our experienced chemotherapy nursing team.

Duties of this post will supporting with two other SHOs we have in post. This will include covering our SDEC, Chemotherapy Unit, Radiotherapy. Pharmacy, ward patients and Outpatients. There are teaching opportunities, joining in on clinics, involvement in clinical governance and audit activities.

Due to recent Health Education England (HEE) Funding we have been able to purchase five new state of the art Varian Truebeam Linear Accelerators across the Kent Oncology Centre. Over the 2 sites we have 9 Linear Accelerator Treatment Machines and 3 CT Planning Simulators. Many of our services are Radiographer led and we also benefit from having a Consultant Palliative Consultant on the Canterbury site and soon to have one on the Maidstone site.

The Treatment Radiographers have all been adopted by Macmillan and we have a Macmillan Information Centre on the Maidstone site and are supported on both sites by Macmillan Specialist Radiographers and Macmillan Support Workers.

Maidstone Hospital, situated in the heart of the Kent countryside, covers a large population and includes the regional Oncology centre which is expanding in support of the Kent cancer network.

The Histology department provides services for Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trusts, Medway NHS Foundation Trust and Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust. Consequently there is a combined Histology workload of around 83,000 cases per year. The department carries out a wide range of investigations including various specialist resections from hospitals within the Kent & Medway.

The department moved to a custom built new facility in May 2011. It is computerised and well equipped. Career development and participation in CPD are actively encouraged.

Applications are invited for the post of Medical Laboratory Assistant . This post would suit an enthusiastic and self-motivated person with good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Good hand eye coordination and attention to detail are essential requirements.

This post would suit candidates with an interest in laboratory diagnostics, particularly those looking to start a career in Biomedical Sciences within the NHS.

Kent and Medway Pathology Network

Working for Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust you will be part of the Kent and Medway Pathology Network (South 8 network). Kent and Medway Pathology Network is made up of seven laboratories across three pathology services in four acute Trusts – East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust and North Kent Pathology Services (hosted by Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust and providing services to Medway Foundation Trust).

The network provides services across the health sector to a population of nearly 2 million.

The network vision is based around:
• A single laboratory information management system (LIMS) and managed services contract (MSC);
• A Director of Pathology Transformation who will work closely with teams and services to design and implement service changes which benefit the whole network;
• A commitment to consider a single management structure at a point in the future; and,
• A general agreement to collaborate, and to align processes and Standard Operating Procedures where it makes sense to do so.

You will not be expected to work at sites outside of Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. However, there will be opportunities for collaborative working within this network
