As a Talking Therapies partnership, we are looking for aspiring Cognitive Behavioural Therapists to join our Nottinghamshire Talking Therapies service as Trainee High Intensity Therapists (HITs) in March 2025 cohort at the University of Lincoln. The course you will undertake is the one-year, full-time, PGDip Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

This is a permanent position with a start date of 5th March 2025 at University. There will be a service induction prior to this.

A typical working week includes 3 days of clinical practice with the service and 2 days attending university. University days will be hybrid training with a combination of remote and face-to-face teaching. Whilst your clinical practice is likely to include some remote working, you will be required to attend one of the Nottinghamshire offices for part of the week.

You will provide High Intensity CBT interventions recommended by NICE to clients with moderate to severe common mental health disorders and will receive weekly supervision provided by both the university and the workplace.

We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our team as Trainee Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners. Three posts are available, across our Secondary Care Psychological Therapies Service and our Lambeth Living Well Centres. This is an exciting brand-new role created by NHS England and Improvement to support the transformation of adult community mental health services. Your training will be fully funded by the NHS. Its an exciting time to join UHCW as we work through our new Community Diagnostic Centre Programme (CDC), which provides patients with more convenient access to vital diagnostic procedures with shorter waiting times. As part of the CDC programme a new Endoscopy Unit opened at the Hospital of St Cross. The includes three fully-equipped Endoscopy procedure rooms and facilities with separate male and female waiting and recovery areas, improving privacy and comfort for patients. This is in addition to the 5 procedure room unit on the Coventry site.

As an established Nurse Endoscopist you will work in collaboration with the gastroenterology and endoscopy departments across both our University Hospital, Coventry and Hospital of St Cross, Rugby sites. Main duties of the job will:

7. Establish safe practice in the delivery of a broad range of therapeutic endoscopic procedures including highly complex interventions. Provide accurate endoscopy reports to enable appropriate treatment and care.
8. Refer patients to other Health care providers to ensure patient care is continued. Including independent referral for radiological intervention such as x-ray, CT and MRI.
9. The establishment and maintenance of effective collaboration and co-operative relationships with other members of the multidisciplinary team, working towards the optimisation of high standards of care in endoscopy.
10. To work in collaboration with partners across the local system, contributing to and developing system pathways for the benefit of patients referred via GI 2WW pathways.
11. Provide practical guidelines for the treatment/management of patients including setting of policies and protocols that direct both medical and non-medical practice.

Major Duties:
The incumbent is responsible for the operation and supervision of the carpenter shop, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of infrastructure systems which serve the entire Medical Center and SCBOC. Infrastructure systems includes, but is not limited to carpentry, locks, door's hardware, fire and smoke barrier doors, windows, masonry, walls, flooring, ceiling, roofs, light pulps, light switches, light outlets, and cove base. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating and managing in house construction projects. Oversee maintenance, repair and installations of carpentry millwork, suspended ceiling systems, masonry walls, sheet rock walls, cover base, doors, windows, locks, doors hardware, locking mechanisms, tile flooring, ceramic flooring, carpeting, fire proffering, stairs, concrete work, taping, compounding, and roofing systems. In addition, the Carpenter Supervisor is administratively responsible for all aspects of the Carpentry/Masonry/Locksmith Unit, including employee performance, training, and work assignments, adverse actions, awards and other personnel issues associated at the first level of supervision.

Planning

• Plans the use of workers, equipment, facilities, material and tools on a day-to-day or project-by-produce basis.
• Adheres to work priorities, project schedules, resources, and detailed work plans established by higher level supervisors.
• Follows customary work cycles and sequences in planning work assignments.
• Tracks and reports progress on work assignments and request authority to adjust worker assignments and to use overtime, equipment and materials to meet schedules.

Work Direction

• Assigns work to individuals and provide technical direction and/or help in accomplishing difficult work steps and processes.

Physical Requirements:
Works under many and varied types of conditions , inside and outside, in cold and hot areas, in poorly ventilated areas, in dusty and greasy areas, on ladders, platforms and catwalks. Will work in contagious disease areas etc.

Considerable walking, stopping, bending, crawling, standing and climbing is required in performance of duties. Incumbent is to lift/carry moderately heavy loads of 40-80 pounds. Incumbent works from ladders, scaffolds, staging, roofs/parapets, as well as working in confined spaces.

Starting at $42.28 Per Hour (WS 9)

Candidates will have experience of working in mental health settings and will have eithera registered graduate qualification in nursing, social work or occupational therapy or evidence of using the career framework of training in mental health and experience of working in a stepped care service for anxiety and depression as a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.

All positions will be offered at pay band 6 on a 12-month fixed term contract basis. The post-holder will work in the service for 3 days of the week whilst attending the training programme for the other two days.

This is a training role within the Enfield NHS Talking Therapies service (formerly known as IAPT). The post-holder will work within the Talking Therapies service providing high intensity interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. This intensive training post will equip the post–holder to provide cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for clients with a range of complex problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective. The post- holder will work in the service for 3 days of the week using the newly developed skills whilst attending the training programme for the other two days with Royal Holloway, University of London.

This post will report to and be supported by the Enfield NHS Talking Therapies Clinical Team Leads.
• Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service
• Assess clients for suitability for CBT. Where the problems appear to be too complex or severe to be appropriate for a trainee therapists to refer to manager/supervisor for advice on how to manage the case.
• Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department’s referral protocols, and refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary.
• Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes for clients.
• Educate and involve family members and others in treatment as necessary, conveying CBT formulations with sensitivity in easily understood language.
• Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.
• Attend and fulfil all the requirements of the training element of the post.
• Apply learning form the training programme in practice
• Receive supervision from educational providers in relation to course work to meet the required standards.
• Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to the employer and any regulating, professional and accrediting bodies (eg BPS, UKCP, BABCP), and keep up to date on new recommendations/guidelines set by the department of health (e.g NHS plan, National Service Framework, National Institute for Clinical Excellence).
