Role: Health & Wellbeing Advisor
Salary: £27,500
Contract type: Up to 12 months fixed term
Working hours: Full Time (37.5 hrs pw)
Location: Based in Hull (HU1 3SS) however, travel to other locations is required

Are you passionate about helping people overcome barriers to employment and achieve their career goals? In this role, you’ll support participants to better understand their impairment and/or health condition and how it may impact their career aspirations, helping them improve their wellbeing and address barriers to work. You’ll also contribute to developing professional standards, support service evaluation and research, and ensure a strong focus on safeguarding by promoting a culture of care and safety.
What you’ll do
• Conduct effective assessment of referred learners, identifying accurate starting points, and designing appropriate action plans
• Deliver group training on specific health wellbeing areas
• Deliver 1:1 brief advice sessions e.g., alcohol reduction (with a view to signposting the participant to a more in-depth community programme/support service)
• Support the Operations/Business Manager to develop relationships and referral pathways with local health and specialist providers
• Supporting operational teams to increase their knowledge and awareness of Health and Wellbeing through briefings and the provision of one-to-one support for staff.
Other things you’ll be involved in include
• Creating Health & Wellbeing plans
• Acting as an advocate for participants
• Supporting Employment Advisors
• Training delivery.
What you’ll need
• Level 2 English and Maths as a minimum
• Competence and industry experience in relevant sector
• An IEP L2 Sector Introduction would be desirable
• Teaching/Coaching/Mentoring qualification and/or experience
• Previous experience of working with individuals claiming income support and incapacity benefit and the barriers they face
• Previous knowledge and experience of working with individuals with specific health and wellbeing needs
• Full UK driving license as role requires travel.
Overseas equivalent qualifications will be accepted.
