About the role Manx Care is a pioneering and independent organisation, operating at arm’s length from the Isle of Man Government, dedicated to delivering health and statutory social care services across our Island. We were established on April 1, 2021, and employ over 3,300 dedicated staff, providing a comprehensive range of services including hospital care at Noble’s Hospital and Ramsey District Cottage Hospital, Integrated Mental Health Services, Social Care, the Isle of Man Ambulance Service, and Primary Care and Community Services. We are an ambitious organisation committed to integrating services to deliver safe, high-quality, and effective care, ensuring future sustainability for our populations' health and wellbeing. Our mission is “to become the best, small island health and social care system in the world”. The Isle of Man is a beautiful place to live and work; we have a vibrant cultural and sporting scene, wonderful landscapes and a genuine sense of community. Our new Executive Medical Director will provide inspirational leadership to our medical professionals as a core member of the Executive Team; committed to the strategic transformation of our health and care services. Reporting to our Chief Executive, Teresa Cope, you will engage our medical and wider clinical workforce in creating a vision for integration and champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation that will allow us to achieve our huge potential as a dynamic organisation providing holistic integrated health and care services. Working closely with the Board, this is a unique and exciting opportunity to collaborate across our health and social care system, making a meaningful difference for our people and the populations we serve. We are interested to hear from progressive, existing or aspiring Chief Medical Officers with significant breadth of leadership experience gained in either system, provider or national settings. Credible, resilient and politically astute, you will bring positive communication and interpersonal skills that will enable you to build trusted relationships across our complex organisation as well as with our partners. Your passion for equality, diversity, and inclusion, coupled with your ability to navigate political and structural complexities will enable you to bring further aspiration and motivation to our clinical and corporate teams, stakeholders, and partners. Most importantly, you will share our values and ambition to create a high quality, integrated health and care service that organises care around patient and service user needs, delivering the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
