Optimizing the performance of health systems is essential to ensuring the wellbeing and longevity of populations worldwide. Singapore is particularly well placed to lead research in this field as its health system has been consistently ranked as one of the best in the world based in independent evaluation with the Global Burden of Disease data. The new Centre for Research in Health Systems Performance (CRiHSP) aims to advance research in this area within the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine of the National University of Singapore (NUS) as the leading centre for research in health systems in Asia with the following core functions:

1. Research: empirical and methodological research and evidence synthesis on health systems performance with a particular focus on Value Based Healthcare.

The Research Associate will have the following duties:

• Contribution to the management of research activities including grant and IRB/DSRB applications, budgeting, planning and monitoring project timelines and generally support project management and coordination and liasing with internal and external stakeholders

The Singapore Population Health Studies (SPHS) is a population-based health research initiative at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore. SPHS aims to investigate the interactions between lifestyle, physiological, genetic and other omics biomarkers and their impact on health and longevity. The Centre has launched the “Digital Healthcare Transformation (DHT) Initiative,” a multi-year program to boost public-private partnerships in digital health, data, and AI. This initiative complements the Global Health Equity Network (GHEN), which promotes health equity and patient-centred system transformation.

Singapore, a leader in healthcare delivery and equity due to its investment in digital health, will be highlighted as a World Economic Forum Centre for Health and a Healthcare Country Lighthouse. This collaboration aims to showcase Singapore’s healthcare success globally and identify opportunities for Public-Private Partnerships to advance health equity through digital transformation.

The Fellowship role will manage projects and provide expertise on Health Equity, access to care, and social determinants of health. The Fellow will support the Forum’s work in developing Singapore as a Country Lighthouse, conduct research on its health system transformation, and share insights on health equity. They will also coordinate with regional working groups and engage with local and global partners, including the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) Network and the Accelerators Network, and contribute to the Forum's Health Equity strategy and broader global efforts.

The Health Equity effort in Singapore as well as the proposed pilot place-based change programme(s) will link to a broader global Global Health Equity strategy and pre-existing place-based change work (launching by the GHEN in 2024). This role is based in Singapore and hosted within the NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health. The Fellow will be involved in projects from the Forum’s Centre for Health and Healthcare. Job Description

The duties and responsibilities of the incumbent, in the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, include but are not limited to the following -

• Perform pre-class procurement of practical reagents and consumables for practical classes or workshops.
• Perform pre-class setup of apparatus, reagents and materials for pharmaceutical biology or chemistry, MSc (Pharmaceutical Science & Technology) practical classes.
• Provide in-class operational support and facilitate the conduct of selected undergraduate/postgraduate practical classes and objective structured clinical examinations.
• Review, collate and track the annual budget for selected undergraduate/postgraduate teaching modules.
• Involved in the daily operations, maintenance and upkeep of the laboratories and teaching facilities.
• Ensure safety of teaching facilities through regular checks and audits.
• Handle procurement matters for research laboratories.
• Involved in the operation, maintenance, and training of selected equipment housed in the department.
• Prepare documents for safety audits and assist in the update of safety documents.
• Serve as the point of contact for safety communication to students and departmental staff.
• Assist in the implementation of Safety and Health Programmes.
• Serve as fire safety warden or first aider for the department.
• Perform any other related and ad-hoc duties as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum diploma in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry or related Science disciplines.
• Experience in pre-class preparation and running of science laboratory classes, especially biology laboratory classes, will be an advantage. Those who do not have experience but who are highly motivated and committed are also encouraged to apply.
• Good knowledge of laboratory practices.
• Experience in molecular biology or analytical methods is highly desired.
• Able to learn quickly on the job with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work independently and as a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, e.g. Microsoft Office Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills with good command of spoken and written English.
• Independent, committed, self-motivated, hardworking, resourceful with good organization, time management, analytical skills and desire to learn new skills as well as take on new responsibilities.

Duties and responsibilities

- Establishing an independent research programme in the area of health promotion and implementation science to address health related behaviours and mental health;
- Undertaking literature reviews, leading on analysing data, writing reports, presentations, and publication of results and findings in peer-reviewed journal
- Collaborating and coordinating with multi-disciplinary team of experts and researchers in other national and international institutions
- Responsible for adapting, maintaining, evaluating and reporting the results of your work to a range of stakeholders
- Course design and teaching
- Supervision of junior team members and graduate student

Qualifications
- A recognized Doctoral degree in a relevant discipline with a strong post-doctoral research record;
- Track record of publishing in international peer-reviewed journals;
- Ability to generate and maintain an independent stream of funding;
- Ability to teach public health courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels;

Job Description

The successful candidate will work with A/Prof Ee Pui Lai Rachel on the design and development of stable peptide drugs and biomaterials as next generation antimicrobial therapeutics capable of tackling multidrug resistance under a project on Multifunctional peptide nanonets as novel antimicrobial agents.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

• Develop and perform microbiological, biochemical, biophysical and cellular assays e.g. bacteria culture, flow cytometry, ELISA and Western blotting.
• Analyze and present experimental data in a clear and concise manner, demonstrating a good understanding of its utilization and implications in the context of drug discovery.
• Support laboratory housekeeping, purchasing, safety check, SOP writing and other administrative and compliance-related processes.

Qualifications

Qualifications / Discipline:

Degree or postgraduate in biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences or related disciplines

Skills / Experience:

• Proficient in designing and conducting experiments within areas of microbiology and biomaterials
• Experience in scanning electron microscopy and confocal microscopy
• Experience in high throughput screening for bacterial assays and biofilm assays

Job Description

Primarily, Teaching Assistants will be responsible for the following duties:

1. Support the design, optimization and conduct of practical classes in the undergraduate programmes;
2. Adaptation of course materials towards blended learning;
3. Facilitation of collaborative learning workshops;
4. Support the design, optimization and co-ordination of experiential learning in the undergraduate programmes;
5. Support course coordinators in managing communication and administrative needs of courses;
6. Support department-led pedagogical research.

The specific areas of expertise we are currently looking for include knowledge and practical skills in aspects of pharmacy and pharmacy practice. Candidates with the proficiency in creating online contents and improving user interface will be considered favourably.

Qualifications

Qualifications / Discipline:

Candidates must possess either a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Pharmacy or other related fields. Pharmacists with entry-to-practice degrees such as M.Pharm. or Pharm.D. are also acceptable.

Skills:

Ability to perform and teach the following pharmacy practice skills including medication reconciliation, medication review, dispensing, patient counseling, managing minor ailments, and providing drug information.

Experience:

Prior experience in teaching or mentoring students (especially in Institutes of Higher Learning) will be considered an advantage.
