The Pharmacist provides evidence-based patient centered pharmacy care services to patients of Baptist Health Floyd. The Pharmacist assists in providing patient centered care services to include advising physicians on matters pertaining to drug usage and control within hospital locations; participates in the development of continuing education for Pharmacy, Patient Care Services, and Medical Staff, Residents, Ancillary Staff, and Students.  The Pharmacist provides high quality patient centered care services with a focus on quality measures., supervises daily activities of support personnel, and promotes cost-effective drug use and quality patient care. 

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy

Current Indiana Pharmacist License or Eligible for Indiana Pharmacist License

BLS for Healthcare Providers required

ACLS certification (obtained within 6 months of hire)

3-5 years Acute Care experience preferred

Completion of an ASHP accredited residency preferred

BCPS or other advanced certification is preferred

Unit Overview: 6A, Medical-Surgical-Telemetry unit.

6A is a 23 bed post interventional telemetry unit.  Units primarily serves  patients who have undergone cardiac catheterization procedures including interventional procedures and electrophysiology. Staff receive specialized training for post catheterization, femoral sheaths and Tikosyn.  

Shift: PRN, Nights

Job Duties:

The Pharmacy Medication Reconciliation Technician is a certified Pharmacy Technician who supports pharmacy services by obtaining medication and allergy histories for patients that will be admitted to the hospital. Information is obtained by interviewing the patient, patient family, calling pharmacies, long term care facilities and/or other providers. The information obtained is communicated to pharmacists and health care providers to determine treatment plans and medication orders during hospitalization and post discharge from the hospital.

Qualifications: 

Registration with Indiana Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire date if you are a new registrant. If previously registered, you must have registration upon hire.

Nationally certified as a pharmacy technician.

At least 6 months of pharmacy experience.

Medication history certificate preferred.

The extern program is designed to bridge the journey from nursing student to nursing professional. Participants will have the opportunity to build on clinical skills while working alongside nurses, participate in shadowing non-nursing patient care roles, receive on the job training, and partake in classes offered. Levels of Extern Program

Level 1: Nursing Assistant I role; must be accepted into nursing program.

Level 2: Extern role; completed during the summer before graduating; work with preceptor and shadow various areas of the hospital.

Level 3: Nursing Assistant II role; after summer externship; training provided for phlebotomy and EKG capabilities.

The unit is staffed with a provider between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM each day of the week to provide support and high-level care. New Graduate RNs welcome.

The Progressive Care Unit, also known as PCU, is a 32-bed intermediate level of care unit between the Inpatient Units and the Critical Care units. While the unit specializes in cardiovascular care nurses will encounter a variety of diagnoses, such as CHF, dysrhythmias, DKA, respiratory issues, sepsis, etc. While working closely with an interdisciplinary team, nurses provide excellent care for a high acuity-based population.  PCU is a great place for nurses to cultivate and expand their assessment skills while managing several drips and other specialized procedures. New Graduate RNs and LPNs are welcome.

Common neuroscience cases include ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, TIAs, seizure/epilepsy, degenerative disorders, autoimmune disorders, and central nervous system disorders. As a certified Primary Stroke Center, 2C Neuro has been recognized as a state-of-the-art stroke care center.  New Graduate LPNs and RNs are welcome.

Qualifications:

Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
