Your Responsibilities...


Working with Residents’ and families to deliver high level person-centered care.

Liaising with other health professionals and relatives to achieve the best outcome for each Resident.
Maintaining a safe environment for staff, Residents, and visitors according to Health and Safety and CQC requirements whilst always maintaining thorough and up to date records on each Resident.

To assist in the effective administration of Annan Court Care Home, (in accordance with the Company’s Policies), under the supervision of the Home Manager. To work as part of a team and be a proactive team member.

Hours: 37.5 per week

General


To answer telephone calls in a polite and courteous manner dealing with any requests promptly and efficiently, returning call backs in timely manner.
To meet and greet any visitors and professionals to the Home
To ensure when post arrives it is distributed to relevant recipients in a timely manner
To ensure that all regular ordering takes place on the designated day and remains in budget.
To support the manager in the positive marketing of the Home
To ensure all marketing information is available and displayed
To ensure that all groups of staff have all relevant paperwork photocopied in a timely manner to maintain standards of record keeping and health & safety recording To support the manager in minute taking, note taking and typing of the associated records
To maintain confidentiality of all relevant information and files
To ensure all relevant information for admission and discharge of any clients is addressed and maintained to the relevant parties in a timely manner
To ensure all staff files contain the relevant information
To maintain an audit for all personnel files to evidence their content
To support the manager in payroll for staff
To carry out general office duties as required including filing and safe storage of documents


Training and staff development


To assist with staff training via the e learning programme and training computer
To ensure new staff have relevant induction pack and other articles e.g. uniform, badge, ready in a timely manner
To keep the training matrix up to date for all mandatory training reporting any forthcoming needs to the home manager


Finance


To maintain accurate records both in e form and manual in relation to monies held in the home
To monitor the monies to ensure they are checked in accordance with the policy on a monthly basis
To ensure all logs are kept up to date and submitted to Head office in the timescale required
To ensure the Manager is made aware of any potential problems or issues in a timely manner
To maintain clear and concise and legible records
To comply with all Company Financial Policies


Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential


Experience within a similar field
Knowledge and experience of IT including word, excel, email ,intranet
Excellent interpersonal skills and customer care
Accuracy and ability to multitask
Ability to work on own initiative
Must be enthusiastic, empathetic and confident personality
Experience in a customer service environment
Ability to meet laid down or requested task completion target dates
Able to meet deadlines


Desirable


Customer care and/or administration qualification
Excellent standard of IT skills
Knowledge and understanding of Care Inspectorate
Knowledge and understanding of the Elderly Care Sector

Your Duties...

Our Domestic assistants work closely with the Head of Housekeeping/Home Manager to maintain the highest level of cleanliness throughout the home, bedrooms and all public areas, emptying bins, cleaning floors, walls and corridors, cleaning toilets and bathrooms.

Your role will include:


Working closely with the Maintenance Manager or nominated colleague to make sure that our residents live in a place that is safe and well maintained at all times
Ensuring that regular safety checks and servicing is carried out on all equipment and accurate records are kept.
Having excellent communication with the Home Manager and also the Residents
Basic plumbing and electrical maintenance
Clearing and Cleaning general areas
Assembling furniture
Painting and decorating


This position will require on call duties

You must have excellent communication skills with Manager's, Colleagues, Residents and Visitors to the Home.

The Home...

Welcome to Goldielea Nursing Care Home in Dumfries. Our approach is all about providing person-centred care, and we treat each Resident as the individual they are. This ensures that they are very much a part of decisions about their lives and care and that we look after their emotional wellbeing, not just their physical health.

Your Duties...


Work with the Home Manager and Head of Dementia & Wellbeing to engage with and implement Advinia’s Wellbeing and Engagement Programme - S.P.E.C.S.
Design and organise, in conjunction with Residents, a range of person-centred stimulating meaningful and engaging activities within the Home.
Develop, manage and coordinate new and ongoing meaningful engagement programmes that encourage Residents to maintain pre-existing interests and hobbies.
Encourage Colleagues, Residents, Relatives and Friends to participate in the Home's meaningful engagement programme and help to embed a whole home approach to activities.
Arrange trips and outings to enable Residents to engage in offsite activities to maintain their hobbies and interests.
Support with creating an engaging and stimulating environment throughout the Home that is appropriate to the needs of Residents.
In conjunction with the Home Manager agree and undertake fundraising opportunities to supplement activities budget.
Maintain an activities budget, in conjunction with the Home Manager for the provision of resources, outings and entertainment.
Maintain full and accurate records of activity budget spend.
Encourage, involve and support Residents with deciding on the range of activities that take place within the Home through the development of a Resident’s Committee, ensuring all Residents have a voice and the opportunity to contribute and provide feedback.
Ensure risk assessments have been completed for all activities and outings and reviewed as appropriate.
Maximise the use of resources that are available to support with delivering meaningful and engaging activities such as; Band App, Advinia Monthly themes, Moments that Matter initiative, My Life TV, Daily Sparkle, Advinia Virtual Tours.
To participate in and develop activities based on Advinia’s monthly activity themes, incorporating each of the areas of the S.P.E.C.S programme.
Recognise that some Residents may not want to (or are unable to) participate in group/ communal activities and therefore plan individualised 1-2-1 activities as appropriate.
