Being a Hospitality Assistant:

Handyman (M/F) required in Bideford to join our client's team on a new build housing site. Reporting to the Site Manager the day-to-day duties will involve working through snag lists to get plots to a standard ready for handover. There will also be an element of customer care works - repairing defects in occupied properties.

The ideal Handyman (M/F) will be reliable, competent in finishing work and have experience in customer care or snagging on new build housing.

Role & Responsibilities for Handyman (M/F):

• Patching/ filling
• Painting
• Basic carpentry (adjusting doors and cabinets etc)
• Keeping working area clean and tidy
• Reporting progress and any additional snags/defects to Site Manager

As part of our Food & Beverage Kitchen Team you will… 
- Support with the cleanliness of the kitchen, ensuring we maintain high health and hygiene standards ensuring a clean and safe environment for all
- Carry out daily and weekly cleaning tasks in the kitchen which may include, cleaning crockery, utensils and cooking equipment, cleaning storage areas and sanitising food preparation areas
- Help to prepare and serve our delicious fast food offerings which may include crafting the perfect burger, assembling delicious pizzas or serving up noodle dishes or crispy chicken and fries

You don’t need experience to join our Food & Beverage Team. You may already be a Kitchen Porter, Kitchen Assistant or Fast-Food Crew Member but if not, that’s ok! We will provide the training and support required to ensure you are great at what you do.

Founded in 1604, Blundell’s is a co-educational independent school for pupils aged 3 – 18 years. We are now looking for a Chef de Partie to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis, working 41 hours per week with alternate weekends off, across 43 weeks per year (term time plus additional school holiday weeks).

The Role

As a Chef de Partie, you will help to plan, prepare and produce balanced and nutritious meals safely and efficiently for our school.

Working as part of a shift system, you will carry out the smooth and efficient running of your section, assist in the development and planning of menus, serve customers and replenish counters throughout meal services.

Adhering to our Hygiene, Health and Safety policies, you will follow cleaning schedules and ensure that food storage areas are safely maintained.

Additionally, you will:

- Instruct Commis Chefs in food preparation and cooking skills
- Provide support with stock takes
- Gain an understanding of food costing and menu planning
- Assist with internal and external functions within the school

About You

To be considered as a Chef de Partie, you will need:

- Experience in food production and/or bulk catering
- Knowledge of HACCP procedures
- The ability to demonstrate craft skills and food production to a high standard
- A Basic Food Hygiene certificate
