The Opportunity

As one of the Special Events Coordinator (SEC for short), will be involved with all our Social Banqueting, Weddings, Christmas, and Seasonal Special Events inquiries.

You will be proactively diarising site visits and hotel show rounds (including virtual as necessary) to deliver inquiry conversion. Identifying customer needs and providing solutions to match hotel products and services available ensuring that all events and weddings produce maximum revenue.

The key to this role will be to develop and maintain an extensive network of local supplier contacts and internal stakeholders to facilitate seamless event coordination plus produce detailed and accurate proposals for local event bookings, ensure consistently written confirmations of all discussions, and proactively upsell solutions.

The Opportunity

The Role
London South East Colleges is seeking to recruit a Commis Chef Apprentice to work within our BR6 restaurant at our Orpington Campus.
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Commis Chef Apprentice. This is an excellent opportunity to start a career in the culinary field.
The Apprentice will support the kitchen operation for BR6, a sixty-cover restaurant as well as the connected Bakehouse and Terrace area, with direct line management of the Head Chef and senior kitchen team.
Skills and Experience:
The person appointed will be required to work flexibly within a team environment and will be allocated a range of duties and responsibilities.
Food & Health and Safety:

- Keep up to date with HACCP documents, ensuring they are filled out daily
- Ensure stations are kept clean and organised
- Keep on top of dishes in pot-wash during service
- Follow organisations cleaning procedures, reporting any faults to supervisor
- Ensure food is stored correctly – following F.I.F.O storage system
- Monitor kitchen equipment - reporting any faults to supervisor
- Ensure safe storing of equipment - knives, blades etc,
- Perform stock checks, informing supervisors of depleting stock
- Label food items for storage within organisations policy.
- Prepare (wash, cut, cook) vegetables, fruits and meats to specifications
- Assemble / cook dishes on the menu with consistent quality
- Receive deliveries, checking use-by dates, packaging quality, etc.

The Best Connection are currently looking a Food Production Operative to join our busy client in Belvedere.

Hours are Monday to Friday 07.30- 16.30

Pay will be £12.50 per hour, weekly pay every Friday!

Duties include:

-Weighing and mincing the product
-Feeding the product through machines
-Ensuring machines are running smoothly
-Ensure products are processed according to specifications and quality standards
-Perform quality checks to verify the final product meets company and industry standards.
-Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and work area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
-Will involve heavy lifting
-This position does involve working with raw food items.

The ideal candidate will be reliable and able to work within a small team and also independently.

You must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment

This is a temporary role over the busy Christmas busy period - must be available till end of December

Working within the public sector you will be required to support the Environmental Health Team in the role of Food Safety Inspector.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Carry out Food Hygiene inspections/surveys in the district alongside other statutory functions with the Food & Safety Team.
• Gather evidence, writing letters and taking enforcement action
• Ad-hoc duties to support the wider team

To be considered for this role you will need to have:

• Ideally registered with the Environmental Health Registration Board and hold a relative qualification.
• Demonstrable knowledge, experience and expertise in relation to Food Safety.
• Relevant experience of Food Safety and enforcement.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to convey and receive information accurately with tact and diplomacy.
• Ability to organise and prioritise workload
• Able to travel within the district

This is a long-term temporary role requiring an immediate start, offering 37.5 hours per week.
