The Opportunity

As a Housekeeping Team Member, you will play an essential role in ensuring that our hotel is clean, comfortable, and inviting for our guests. You will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining all guest areas, including guest rooms, public areas, linen rooms, and cupboards, and always ensuring that service levels are exceptional.

Your role will involve servicing hotel bedrooms and public areas to company standards and within allocated time frames. You will be familiar with agreed cleaning standards and presentation of all room categories and report any damages or breakages promptly to ensure repairs are carried out.

You will also be responsible for returning all equipment to their allotted storerooms at the end of each working day and keeping the storerooms and working areas clean and tidy

• Has previous experience in a similar role and understands the importance of attention to detail in housekeeping
• Is passionate about providing exceptional customer service and takes pride in delivering clean and well-maintained guest rooms and public areas
• Is a team player who is reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively with others
• Possesses excellent time management skills and is able to prioritize tasks effectively to ensure all areas are cleaned to a high standard within the allocated time frame
• Is physically fit and able to carry out the physical demands of the job, including lifting and moving heavy objects, standing for extended periods of time, and working in a fast-paced environment
• Has good communication skills and is able to work effectively with other departments to ensure the smooth running of the hotel
• Has a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
• Is familiar with health and safety regulations and has a good understanding of the proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals
• Has a good eye for detail and is able to spot areas that require extra attention, such as stains or damaged items.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a reliable and responsible Night Team Member to join our team and ensure the smooth running of the hotel during the night shift. The Night Team Member will be responsible for managing guest requests, ensuring security and safety procedures are adhered to, and providing general support to the hotel staff.

• Previous experience working in a hotel or similar environment, preferably in a night team member role.
• Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.

As a Chef apprentice, you will...

- Prepare, cook and present food which meets specs and customer expectations.

- Maintain hygiene levels and safety regulations in the kitchen to help to guarantee the safety of your entire team and visitors.

- Communicate clearly with your team in order to provide high-quality meals to customers on time.

- Keep up to date with new products, menus and promotions.

What your apprenticeship includes

- A mixture of face to face and skype/phone catch ups every 4 - 6 weeks to discuss feedback and progress

- A mixture of on and off the job training, including workshops and webinars

- Reviews every 12 weeks with your Line Manager and apprenticeship Trainer

- The chance to get Functional Skills in English and maths (if you don't already have GCSE)

- A Chef Apprenticeship Qualification once you have completed the 15 month programme

- Attend 4 masterclasses to further develop your Chef skills

Alongside working full time as an Apprentice Chef, you will also be joining our unique Chef Academy, where you will have the opportunity to attend four masterclasses designed to teach you expert knowledge and technical skills involved in 4 different areas of cooking.

At Greene King, you will be working towards a Production Chef Level 2 Apprenticeship Qualification over the course of 15 months.

We are looking for a Full Time Permanent Chef to join the team in our Restaurant in Houghton Hall Garden Centre.

Our competitive rates of pay range are dependant on experience.

The hours for this role are 45 per week over 5 days. All positions include weekend working so flexibility is a must. However we have the added benefit of no evening work and no split shifts. Our Centre is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day which means time with the family on these important days.

The Role

As a Chef, you will support all areas of food production and cleaning in the kitchen. You will work at part of a small team under the guidance of your Head Chef/Restuarant Manager and be responsible for the preparation of our fresh ingredients for our full menu range.

What you will be doing as a Chef?


Prepare fresh ingredients
Prepare hot and cold food orders to order
Monitor stock levels and contribute towards the ordering process
Work efficiently to ensure low levels of waste
Carry out cleaning of equipment and working areas to the highest food hygiene standards
Close down kitchen each day including preparation for the following day.
