Industrial Maintenance

Location: 504 Advantage Ave. Aberdeen, MD

As a maintenance mechanic with Gordon Food Service, you’ll have the opportunity to be hands-on with building schematics/blueprints, hydraulics, electrical troubleshooting, HVAC systems, building maintenance, hi-speed doors, and more. We have high standards for safety, stability, and training to ensure our people are safe and that our business is always running at top performance. We offer a clean organized parts room and we provide the heavier specialty tools; you just bring the basics. Be part of a skilled team that offers respect, expertise, and professional development!

Schedule: Sunday- Thursday 6:00 PM - 2:30 AM

Pay rate based on experience

• Earn an additional $2.85 per hour performance incentive - no flat rates!

• Annual $1,000 tool allowance and $150 boot allowance

Does this look like you?

• You must be 18 years of age or older 

• High school diploma or GED certificate

• Powered Industrial Vehicle certification required

• Three years previous machine repair experience OR an equivalent combination of education and training. Previous experience in forklift repair

• You'll be asked to do work in high places, freezing cold spaces, inside/outside, and anywhere within the building where you are needed

• Successful passing of drug screen and background check

• Able to lift/move up to 100 lbs during your shift

We depend upon our drivers to meet the needs of our customers (restaurants, hospitals & education centers) as valued representatives of the Gordon Food Service image by providing exceptional, accurate deliveries. We're looking for someone who wants to grow with our company and start their GFS transportation career in this role!
 
You’re home daily - here’s what you’d be doing each day:
- Keep our customer happy with accurate, timely, deliveries of GFS products
- Build and maintain good customer relationships
 
We'll teach you a lot, but we do have a few minimum requirements:
- At least 21 years of age
- One year previous driving experience AND one year experience in customer service or related field
- Ability to operate a two-wheel cart with loads of up to 350 pounds
- Successfully passing a drug test that will assess drug usage (including marijuana) and a background check
- Ready for technology - handheld scanners, basic computer operations
- Clean driving record; as required by DOT and Gordon Food Service standards 
- You must be able to pass a DOT physical
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred)
