Job Title: Production Supervisor (Packing)
Hours: Permanent - Full Time 37.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern:
- 1 week in 3 shift patterns - which will consist of working a combination of:
- 2 weeks between 5.30am and 2.00pm - Monday to Friday (with a 30-minute unpaid break).
- 1 week between 1.30pm and 12.00am - Monday to Thursday (with a 30-minute unpaid break).

Job Purpose
Through organization and exceptional team management, the successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end management, planning and control of resources associated with this Packing Area. They will enhance and enable their team to pack coffee products in accordance with schedules, prioritizing the safety of the operation, meeting quality standards, controlling costs and reducing wastage. The goal is to ensure that the packing operations creates value for customers, employees and the company.
The Main Responsibilities
- To perform supervisor food safety and health and safety checks within a timely manner; and to report any failures, oversights or issues with quality assurance.
- Ensure your company radio and mobile telephone are charged and available at any time during your working day.
- Respond to all correspondence, internal or external, to ensure a smooth running operation.
- A four-week staff rota to be in place at all times to allow the Planning Manager to plan production so to never leave the team short.
- Arrange sufficient cover before processing staff holidays
- You will be responsible for opening and locking factory, to start up and shutdown production line machines
- To ensure adherence to all Health and Safety policies adopted by the client. Liaising with the Health and Safety Committee to monitor and develop procedures to ensure that the Company has the appropriate structures, systems and processes in place to meet its statutory Health and Safety responsibilities.
- To maintain excellent GMP standards at all times in the Packing Area, delivering quality standards required of customers and external audits, for example BRC.
- To ensure 100% compliance with the product specification to deliver product within agreed quality parameters
- To manage and control the data collection systems and monitoring processes, ensuring that all documentation and communication is processed and delivered to the cross functional departments, as required on a timely and regular basis.
- To motivate, manage, train and develop team workers. To take responsibility for the counselling's and identify training and development needs, liaising with the 'Assessors' to ensure the business has an effective, multi-skilled and engaged workforce.
- To ensure the Packing area runs at optimal output in accordance to production plans, whilst spotting opportunities for continuous improvement.
- To ensure set KPI's are met with the resources at your disposal and report reasons when not met.
- To manage and control costs, yields and giveaway within the Packing Department.
Other
To carry out any other duties that may be required which are consistent with the responsibilities of the post and its grading. This may include covering for staff holiday/sickness and Production Manager.
