The Elective Access Team Leader will support the Patient Access Manager who in conjunction with the Deputy Operational Services Manager are responsible for the management of Referral to Treatment (RTT) & Cancer Access standards across assigned services.

Oversee the day-to-day management of the waiting list officers, elective access officers, outpatient receptionists and clinic prep assistants within the Directorate.
 Ensure that all patients are booked in accordance with the Trust Elective Access Policy, by clinical priority and by length of Referral to Treatment (RTT) waiting time
 Proactively manage the patients waiting 18 weeks first outpatient appointment or elective inpatient admission and ensure no 52 week breaches
 Inform the Patient Access Manager of any probable breaches and agree further plans to eliminate these

Our Service is one of the few specialist centres across the country delivering clinical excellence in the highly specialised field of chronic pelvic pain. The role will allow you will work alongside a closeknit multidisciplinary team comprising of:

· Physiotherapists

· Clinical Psychologists

· Consultant gynaecologists

· GP’s with specialist interest in pelvic pain

· Nurses

Our aim is to provide a responsive, high quality and person-centred service to maximise the quality and experience of life for women with pelvic pain. The service consists of an adult and adolescent arm (patients from menarche to 25 years) giving clinicians the exciting and unique experience to work with patients at differing life points.

The role of Band 7 Specialist Physiotherapist is a critical part of the chronic pelvic pain service. You will work closely alongside the professions listed above, providing your expert knowledge to perform assessments and provide treatment to those required. You will be involved in delivering treatment in both one-to-one and group settings as well as providing joint courses and appointments together with psychology and attending MDT clinics.

Alongside the clinical work, you will also be involved in supervising and training other team members and will have the opportunity to undertake quality improvement projects.





· To be a critical part of the multidisciplinary team in Chronic Pelvic Pain working in a collaborative fashion with the lead consultants and other members of the team.

· To perform advanced assessment of patients including those with highly complex presentations to form a diagnosis and treatment plan, carried out as an autonomous practitioner.

· To be responsible for supervising, teaching and appraising qualified physiotherapists and students within the pelvic pain service.

· To be responsible for supporting leadership of the team as required.

· To lead and support others in undertaking quality improvement projects to enhance the quality and efficiency of the service

Clinical


1. To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own professional activities

Management

1. To ensure that Trust and Department policies are adhered to.

4. To be responsible for competent use, and maintenance reporting of all electrotherapy equipment, gym equipment and patient appliances and as team leader.
5. To ensure that all equipment defects, accidents and complaints are reported to the Band 8a or other manager, immediately and that appropriate action is taken as appropriate.
6. To comply with all Trust policies and procedures and Health and Safety at Work Act, including adherence to Universal Precautions and Infection Control measures, and ensure that the staff within the team are aware of their responsibilities.
7. To report all complaints and accidents to the immediate senior member of staff as soon as possible and document accordingly.
8. To attend mandatory fire, manual handling and resuscitation training on an annual basis and be familiar with local procedures within speciality areas of work, and ensure that staff within the team are aware of their responsibilities.
9. To be responsible for the daily and operational management, supervision and co-ordination of designated pelvic pain physiotherapy team including staff appraisal, performance management, and acts as a panel member in staff recruitment.

11. To attend and be an active participant in departmental staff and peer group meetings.
12. To ensure that as an individual practitioner, the post holder advises the Head of Therapies of any changes to the service to ensure quality and effectiveness of care for their patients.
13. To maintain an accurate and evaluative record keeping system for own clinical caseload and to be responsible for ensuring that qualified and student physiotherapists are maintaining the department standards within the clinical area.
14. To collate and analyse service data to support the wider understanding of the team’s performance, including areas for improvement focus.

3. To maintain a CPD portfolio reflecting personal professional development and support the lead Physiotherapist in ensuring all members of designated team have a comprehensive performance plan.

4. To initiate and maintain contacts with local and national clinical interest groups appropriate to the clinical field, and to demonstrate the ability to share and disseminate knowledge with colleagues working in other care settings.

5. To clearly convey complex knowledge of techniques, biomechanics, anatomy and physiology to patients and staff

6. To supervise and lead on the professional development of physiotherapists on rotation through the clinical area.

We are looking to recruit and train an enthusiastic, motivated Research Contracts Specialist to join the R&D Office based at OUH Cowley. The team is responsible for the execution of contract negotiation and innovation management. This is a fixed-term full-time post of 24 months. 1. Scrutinising and negotiating research-related contracts on behalf of the OUH and OH.

This role is Band 3 plus RRP, Overtime & On-call allowance available. 37.5 hours per week.

The primary purpose of this role is to professionally support and undertake Electrical trades operations and maintenance work across the Trust’s sites as directed by line management. This includes activities that may be demanding and/or non-routine, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards, policies and procedures. Assist with the management and implementation of the planned engineering/building maintenance programmes for the Trust to ensure compliance with key standards, both legislative and performance related (as defined through Service Level Agreement) – also meeting where necessary the requirements of the NHSLA.

• Work in accordance with the requirements of HTM’s, HBN’s, British Standards, Model Specifications and all Statutory Regulations, Codes of Practice and Trust Policies and Procedures, identifying and proposing changes for own work area to the Electrical Team Leader
• Prioritise work requirements on essential facilities which could have a direct detrimental impact on the patient experience e.g. nurse call handsets, patient toilets/wash facilities and patient beds. The role involves prioritising and being able to react to changing workloads
• Contribute to the development, implementation and review of the Trust’s Estates plans and work closely with the other Estates Managers/team Leaders in the development of works programmes
• Assist with the set up and Implementation/management of the Estates safe systems of work (e.g. Permit to Work, isolation procedures) under the guidance of AP’s to ensure that all safe systems of work are carried out correctly
• Plan maintenance works, including liaison with users and contractors
• Supervise maintenance assistants and operational estates contractors, allocating tasks/re-prioritising where necessary, and ensuring the quality of specification and workmanship
• Liaise with the Estates Helpdesk when receiving emergency works and service complaints
• Act on own initiative and advise senior staff of implications of technical issues
• Actively participate in the wider team operation and control of planned maintenance schemes.

A unique opportunity has arisen in the Cancer Pharmacy Team for the right candidate to take on a new role as an advanced cancer pharmacy technician specialising in haematology.

Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust (OUHFT) Cancer Pharmacy Team were the first in the country to develop these exciting pharmacy technician roles. We are now looking to expand the team further.

The Oxford Cancer & Haematology Centre, based across the Churchill and Horton sites, provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care for patients within Oxfordshire and surrounding areas. We provide a comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and day case services.We provide local, regional and national cancer & haematology services including chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) and bone marrow transplant (BMT) therapies, with other novel advanced therapeutic medicinal products (ATMPs) on the horizon.The centre is also a Cancer Research UK Clinical research unit, an Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre (ECMC) and a Biomedical Research Centre (BMRC)

Key roles include:
• To provide leadership to cancer pharmacy technicians and assistants working at the OUHFT Cancer & Haematology Centre, including supporting with recruitment and induction & contribute to overall cancer pharmacy team development and strategy.
• To liaise with key stakeholders toensure strategic, collaborative and innovative development of Clinical Cancer Pharmacy Technician services and ensure that overall cancer pharmacy technician clinical services are consistent, integrated and co-ordinated.
• To provide clinical pharmacy services to Oncology & Haematology Directorate. This may include working on the clinical areas and within a specified clinic to review stable patients on oral SACT in line with a red flag check list and ensure the appropriate and timely screening, supply and clinic review to improve the oral SACT efficiency pathway.
• To promote the development of the clinical pharmacy technician workforce and training materials.
• To conduct regular continuous professional development & continuing education within haematology disease areas.

This post is primarily based at the Churchill site, but there may be an occasional need for cross-site working at the Horton General Hospital.

Candidates will be asked to prepare a short presentation as part of the interview process. The topic will be sent out with the interview invites.

Job Summary:
1. To provide management and leadership and act as a role model to the Cancer Pharmacy Medicine
Management Technicians working at the Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust Cancer &
Haematology Centre on the Churchill and Horton sites.
2. To be responsible for all aspects of Clinical area based Cancer Pharmacy Medicine Management
Technicians’ recruitment and induction.
3. To be a member of the Senior Cancer Pharmacy and Senior Cancer Pharmacy Leadership Teams
and contribute to Cancer Pharmacy Team development and strategy.
4. To liaise with the Lead Medicines Optimisation Technician, Operational Managers, Senior Cancer
Pharmacy, Specialist Cancer Pharmacists, Divisional Pharmacist, and the Clinical Services Manager
teams to ensure strategic, collaborative and innovative development of Clinical Cancer Pharmacy
Technician services and ensure that overall cancer pharmacy technician clinical services are
consistent, integrated and co-ordinated.
5. To ensure the effective and efficient supply of medicines and advice for cancer patients.
6. To further develop and standardise the service by reviewing procedures and systems of work,
management of near patient dispensing and development of the clinical pharmacy technician
workforce to support technician training and skills.
7. To be responsible for Cancer Pharmacy Technician and Assistant Health and Safety issues and the
management of back care on the Churchill and Horton sites.
8. To participate in, develop, and provide technical clinical pharmacy services to Oncology &
Haematology Directorate on the Churchill and Horton sites.
9. To work within a specified clinic to review stable patients on oral SACT in line with a red flag check
list and ensure the appropriate and timely screening, supply and clinic review to improve the oral
SACT efficiency pathway.
10. To ensure all cytotoxic, SACT, Advanced Therapy Medicinal Product (ATMP), unlicensed and non-formulary medicines are handled and dispensed in accordance with national and local legislation and
guidance.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Direct Patient Care
1. Deliver compassionate excellence via a patient focused clinical pharmacy service, in accordance
with national medicines optimisation principles and local clinical pharmacy procedures.
2. Following a period of competency based training and assesment, analyse & verify prescriptions,
according to local and national standards, alongside technical resources, patient records and
information from patient consults to form an opinion on the most appropriate course of action.
3. Refer appropriately to pharmacists and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
4. Accurately and sensitively communicate medicines related information to a variety of healthcare
professionals and patients including those with language difficulties, physical or mental disabilities,
in a way that facilitates shared decision making.
5. Optimise transfer of patient care, though timely completion of medicines reconciliation and
communication with GPs and community pharmacy teams.
6. Participate in and promote antimicrobial stewardship, medicines safety, and medicines
effectiveness initiatives.
7. Where appropriate to be accredited in the appropriate aspects of handling intra-thecal
chemotherapy within current recommendations.
8. Complete training in clinical trials and support the supply of investigational medicinal products.
9. Maintain skills in accuracy checking, and utilizing dispensary computer and robotic systems.
10.Support OUH dispensaries, and liaise with external agencies (Such as aseptic production service
or homecare providers) to ensure safe, timely and appropriate supply of medications to patients.
11.Provide education clinics to educate and advise patients commencing highly specialized
treatments.
Supporting Professional Activities
12.Complete a local induction programme, including core training and maintain core skills throughout
employment.
13.Act as a role model for pharmacy within the Trust, demonstrating the GPhC Standards for Pharmacy
Professionals and our Trust values.
14.Support and promote the Trusts equality, diversity and inclusion principles and our sustainability
model.
15.Plan and organise your own workload in alignment with professional and organisational priorities.

ensure it is recognized as an important part of the pharmacy strategy.
19.Develop, lead, manage and maintain a safe and effective Medicines Optimisation service. Coordinate the use of Patients Own Medicines, inpatient medicines and newly dispensed medicines in
order to minimize waste and contribute to timely and safe discharge.
20.Provide management alongside the Medicines Optimisation Lead Technician, and Service
Managers to ensure the appropriate deployment of staff and delivery of a streamlined service.
21.Contribute to Operational development and strategy through membership of the Pharmacy
Operational Management team
22.Manage all Human Resource processes for the clinical area based Medicine Management
Technicians including induction, appraisal, performance and conduct and absence.
23.Maintain rotas and authorise leave for Cancer Ward Based Assistants and Medicines Management
Technicians in order to maintain required staffing levels.
Learning, Respect, Delivery, Excellence, Compassion, Improvement
24.Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, and the support of your team lead, in developing
the pharmacy service in line with the department and Trust strategies in response to changing
service needs.
25.Support compliance with medicines related legislative and regulatory requirements, including
maintaining the security and quality of medicines stock and be able to develop an action plan for
improvements in a designated area.
26.Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures and guidelines for use of
medicines within the clinical area.
27.Support the preparation of new drug submissions for the Trust Medicines Management and
Therapeutics Committee.
28.Promote and ensure the safe and cost effective use of medicines within the directorate to achieve
high standards of medicines related aspects of patient care.
29.Contribute to and implement the clinical governance plans of the clinical area and the pharmacy
clinical governance plans.
30.Participate in, support and lead on Audits, Service evaluation, Quality/Cost Improvement Projects
and practice research that align to our strategy and support our culture of continuous
improvement.
31.Provide specialised professional and technical education at level 3-4.
32.Tutor and support the training of Pre-registration Pharmacy technicians and assistants
33.To contribute to local, national, and international specialist interest groups and
conferences/meetings.
34.Any other reasonable duties as requested by the Clinical Director of Pharmacy and/or, Associate
Director of Pharmacy – Clinical Service.
