Applications are invited for a locum replacement Consultant Cellular Pathologist / Histopathologist post in the Department of Cellular Pathology at Barts Health NHS Trust. The appointment is to provide Histopathology reporting within Gynaecological Pathology for Barts Health and the other hospitals for which we undertake service provision. We are looking for a team of medical laboratory assistants to support the provision of our 24/7 service 7 days a week. The role will deliver a hybrid function of specimen reception and laboratory duties for Haematology, Blood Transfusion and Infection divisions. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join our Teenage Cancer Trust Unit, caring for young people aged 13-20 years.

Are you an experienced band 5 nurse (paediatric or adult) with at least two years haematology/oncology experience, looking to take the next step and become a band 6? Have you competed chemotherapy workbooks one and two? We are offering a band 6 training post that will support you in this journey. This role offers 6 months on the ward as a band 5 nurse, gaining confidence and signing off competencies. If you meet the set objectives within 6 months, you will be offered the band 6 post with no need to interview again.

You will have the opportunity to share and develop knowledge and skills in caring for a range of solid tumours and haematology cancers. You will care for patients undergoing a range of treatments including bone marrow transplant, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

You will be required to demonstrate experience and skills in this area and have leadership, development and organisation skills in order to coordinate safe efficient delivery of care to this patient group.

If successful, you will join a strong team of experienced and supportive Hand therapy clinicians ranging from Advance Practitioner to support staff. You will be helping our team to deliver, co-ordinate and evaluate the Hand therapy service and take responsibility, along with the clinical lead, for the operational management of the team.

You will work to the highest standards to facilitate evidence informed patient care, playing a key role in implementing, facilitating and developing Hand therapy best practice in line with local and national guidelines. You will have significant Hand therapy experience within the NHS including Orthopaedics and Rheumatology (please see Personal Specification for further information). Ideally candidates should have a range of clinical reasoning and rehabilitative skills appropriate to their caseload including splinting.

This post is in our Acute Inpatient Care Pathway, looking after working age adults. This post is for the Centralised Place of Safety (CPOS), located at the Maudsley Hospital. This purpose built unit is designed to admit patients admitted on either section 136 or section 135 and the post holder will work within an established MDT to assess and manage the acute physical and mental health needs of these patients. This service was the first 24/7 staffed Place of Safety to implement London’s section 136 pathway and Health Based Place of Safety specification has received positive feedback from users of mental health crisis services.

The unit is staffed with a full nursing team, unit manager and Consultant Psychiatrist. The post provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience of innovative multiagency working and new services. There are also opportunities to contribute to clinical governance in the unit, and formal and informal teaching and development of the team.

3. The doctor would assess under the Mental Health Act for admission either alone or as part of a full Mental Health Act assessment.

4. The doctor is responsible for record keeping including documentation of assessment and communication/ liaison with other agencies including primary care.

5. The doctor will support the wider staff team at the CPOS. There will be opportunities to contribute to clinical governance, and formal and informal teaching.

6. The doctor would be expected to be available to work 10 clinical sessions on the unit. The doctor will be able to take regular time for professional development as agreed with the team Consultant Psychiatrist.

7. There will be job planning review within 3 months of appointment involving the team Consultant Psychiatrist and the team leader of the unit.

8. The doctor would receive clinical supervision from the CPOS Consultant Psychiatrist each week.

We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our team as Trainee Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners. Three posts are available, across our Secondary Care Psychological Therapies Service and our Lambeth Living Well Centres. This is an exciting brand-new role created by NHS England and Improvement to support the transformation of adult community mental health services. Your training will be fully funded by the NHS. In return, we ask that you commit to staying with us for at least two years after you qualify if you apply to continue to work with us as a qualified clinician.

This role will contribute to ensuring adults with severe mental health problems have greater access to psychologically informed interventions.

Please note: The trainee mental health wellbeing practitioner posts are training positions. Successful candidates will be expected to study at university (we expect University College London) and may need to travel to campus, and will need to travel between Southwark station area, Brixton and Streatham and the team catchment areas across the borough of Lambeth for their clinical work.

As a Trainee Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner, you will be expected to work under supervision as part of a dynamic mental health team delivering psychologically informed interventions and supporting adults to receive the right care. They have commissioned SLAM NHS as part of the Lambeth Living Well Network (LWN) Alliance to lead, co-ordinate and, in large part, deliver support and services for those experiencing mental health issues in Lambeth.

• Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain empathic, supportive relationships with people in significant distress, their families and carers

This is a training role within adult community mental health services. The post-holder will be enrolled in a graduate certificate or postgraduate certificate training delivering the national curriculum for Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners. Once successfully enrolled, the post-holder will attend all elements of the programme of study and progress successfully through assessments of competence and attainment. Until enrolment, and in the remaining part of the week during training, they will work as a trainee in the service, under close supervision and regular course assessment of practice competence. They will work within the limits of their experience and assessed competence for their stage of training:


• To work alongside service users, families, carers and multi-disciplinary team members to co-ordinate care, supporting collaborative decision-making about care and treatment.
• To deliver a set of wellbeing-focused psychologically-informed interventions, aligned to cognitive-behavioural principles, based on the best evidence available, that address problems often experienced by people with severe mental health problems.



To work within the limits of level of training and experience as a developing practitioner, taking on clinical practice appropriate to assessed levels of competence and stage of training. The post-holder will work as a trainee under close case management supervision from a suitably qualified professional to provide high quality collaborative care planning as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, with a level of autonomy matched to level of demonstrated competence and stage of training. The post-holder will work under close clinical skills supervision from an HCPC registered clinical / counselling psychologist, BABCP accredited cognitive behavioural therapist or Senior MHWP to provide specified psychologically-informed wellbeing-focused interventions, with a level of autonomy matched to level of demonstrated competence and stage of training.
