We are looking for an enthusiastic Therapist to come and join our well respected and innovative Adult Learning Disability (ALD) Directorate Speech and Language Therapy service. Therapists play an essential role within each of the three Borough's multi-agency community ALD teams and other commissioned services by contributing to a number of clinical pathways delivering high quality, evidenced based care to people with learning disabilities and their carers.

You will be based within the Greenwich multi-disciplinary community learning disability team but work flexibly across the teams in Bexley and Bromley as required. In each team you will work with Band 7 SaLT Clinical Leads, other Band 6 SaLTs and Band 5 SaLT Co-workers. You will have a small caseload of adults with varying degrees of learning disability, some of whom have complex needs including dysphagia, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, mental health difficulties and/or behaviour that challenges.

Oxleas deliver ALD, ASD, SEND and Mental Health SaLT across three London Boroughs and other sites. We meet regularly as a clinical team. We have a robust clinical supervision structure and a strong focus on CPD.


• To manage own caseload of clients with Learning Disabilities and with communication and/or eating and drinking difficulties.
• To line manage/clinically supervise SaLT Co-workers, SaLT Assistant and Specialist Support Workers as directed by Functional Team Manager and Professional Lead for ALD SaLT.
• To deliver high quality Speech and Language Therapy assessment, diagnosis and intervention to people with Learning Disabilities in partnership with their families/carers.
• To act as part of the multi-disciplinary Learning Disability teams and represent the Speech and Language Therapy Service at Team/Directorate meetings/working parties.

• To induct, train, review work performance and clinically supervise/appraise SaLT Co-workers, SaLT Assistant, Specialist Support Workers and students as identified.
• To provide mentoring and support to newly qualified Speech and Language Therapist (Band 5) in order to enable post holder to complete The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy Competency Framework.

Clinical

We are looking for a Forensic Social worker to join our team to provide a specialist social care service to an agreed caseload of clients and their carers. The service works across all areas of the Directorate including the Bracton Centre & Memorial Hospital, community and specialist aftercare hostel.

The post is graded at the equivalent level to Core Trainees (CT1-3) and you will be placed at the appropriate level based on your experience. Although graded at Core Trainee level, the post is not recognised for training by the Postgraduate Dean, however, many of our Trust Grade Doctors successfully go on to join formal Training Schemes in the future.

The local population contains a significant level of frailty with high rates of dementia and associated delirium, so there will be many opportunities to experience a rich mixture of pathologies and complex psycho-social issues.

The postholder will also rotate to work in the Bexley Rapid Response Team as well as the Bexley Frailty Virtual Wards which will provide excellent experience in managing acute and chronic frailty related conditions in the community while working with primary care.

The Greenwich Children's Integrated Therapies service consists of Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy teams, providing services to Early Years, School Years and Special Schools.

RRT has been operational since 2013, since has gown and developed, RRT was one of the 7 accelerator sites involved in the introduction and successful roll out of the NHSE Urgent Community Response (UCR) initiative. RRT/UCR is a multi- professional team consisting of Nurses, PT's, OT's and Social Workers. The team aims to respond to crisis referrals within 2 hours and avoid unnecessary presentation to hospital and residential care.

The team provide holistic health and social care assessments for people over the age 18 years, who are registered with a Bexley GP and live in the Borough of Bexley. The team are based at QEH Woolwich and operates 7 days a week, on an 8am-8pm basis, providing urgent community response to vulnerable people in the community.

The post holder will support in the leadership of Rapid Response Team, deputising in the absence of the Band 7 lead Therapist/Nurses for the clinical management of the care of patients referred to the team. The post holder will assist with and directly triage urgent patient referrals with varied and complex needs in acute hospital and community setting acting as an expert physiotherapy clinical resource to RRT members by facilitating high quality evidence based practise.

The post holder may be required to work across hospitals sites on a planned basis and in community when responding to urgent community referrals. Post holder will undertake delegated line management of junior staff, both informal and formal basis.

The Rapid Response Team aims to prevent inappropriate admissions to acute hospital wards, unnecessary Emergency Department attendances from the community and facilitate early discharges from hospital by acting as the gateway to Community Services within the Borough of Bexley. The post holder will conduct specialist Occupational Therapy assessments for patients in the community with some in reach into Secondary care as required . The East & South East London NHS Pathology Partnership (Pathology Partnership) is a Pathology network formed across three NHS Trusts: Barts Health, Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.

The histology department is seeking to recruit a competent, enthusiastic, and highly motivated individual, with substantive experience in Cellular Pathology to provide technical/quality support to our professional and friendly Histopathology team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), Woolwich. Suitable candidates must have an MSc (in appropriate specialty) and at least 5 years post registration experience in Cellular Pathology. The successful candidate will be the Quality Lead for the department and will also participate in the rotation through the different laboratory areas; including the main laboratory, specimen dissection, special staining and immunohistochemistry.

As a Bank Home Visiting HCA you will be considered a key individual in executing Greenwich Healths home visiting service on behalf of participating practices. 3. Provide clinical input to multi-disciplinary clinics/meetings for the assessment of children with complex disability and special needs.
4. Provide medical advice to Local Authority Children’s Services according to statutory legislation and guidance for Looked after Children. Clinical work may be carried out by the Speciality Doctors but children with complex Neurodisability remain on the Consultant caseload and they will have overall responsibility.

The Mental Health in Schools Teams (MHST) are part of an exciting trailblazer project funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community in response to the government’s Green Paper for Young People’s Mental Health.

The MHST service is designed to help meet the mental health needs of children and young people in education settings.

The team is based across education settings, Greenwich CAMHS and remote working.

We are an additional resource within a whole-system approach to promote resilience and wellbeing, support early intervention, enable appropriate signposting and deliver evidence-based support, care and interventions.

The MHSTs will partner with their education settings to design a bespoke offer, based on the school’s individual needs and will work with the mental health services that are already in place, such as counselling, educational psychology, Early Intervention Team, school nurses, pastoral care, educational welfare officers, VCSEs, the local authority, including children’s social care, and NHS Children and Young People Mental Health Services (CYPMHS).

You will have successfully completed training as a trainee EMHP/CWP. You will be equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge and capabilities to work as a qualified EMHP/ CWP, as an autonomous and responsible practitioner within your scope of practice, alongside education and health colleagues.

You will be confident in providing Guided Self Help to young people and families in anxiety, low mood and challenging behaviours.

You will be flexible and creative in responding to the needs of the school populations, with excellent support from your team and supervision.

You will also be able to adapt to working remotely and prioritising access to services and resources.

You will support the team in continuing to build upon our working relationships with Greenwich schools and provide low intensity interventions, creating workshops and groups and adapting services to meet the needs of schools, young people and families in line with CYP-IAPT principles.

We are seeking to recruit an Administrative Assistant (maternity cover) to join our friendly, positive and forward-looking team. The successful candidate will be required to provide a highly efficient, effective and customer focused administration service as our daily Cover administrator (liaising with agencies and organising cover where needed) and to carry out reprographic and general administrative tasks in the main office.

The successful candidate is required to work Monday to Thursday, 7am-3pm and Friday, 7am-2.30pm.

If you are a highly motivated, enthusiastic and flexible B5 SLT with an interest in working in Neurology, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Community Neuro-Rehabilitation team in the London borough of Greenwich.

This post will enable the successful post-holder to develop their skills across 3 caseloads:
1. Neuro Rehabilitation Team
2. Early supported discharge for Stroke
3. Community SLT (non-neuro)

We offer extensive support both from the SLT team and the wider multidisciplinary team. There is a well-developed supervision structure in place for junior staff with protected continuing professional development time.

You will be further supported by our Preceptorship program alongside other Band 5 Allied Health Professionals. You will be given the opportunity to attend a wide variety of internal and external training events and will be well supported to completed NQP and dysphagia competencies as required.

You will have the opportunity to refer and attend video fluoroscopy and FEES clinics which take place at our local acute hospitals. You will also have the opportunity to carry out innovative rehabilitation programmes including communication groups, ICAP, EMST and sEMG.

The post holder will provide a speech and language therapy service to adults with communication and swallowing difficulties. You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team which includes specialist nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Neuropsychologists and Rehabilitation Assistants to manage those with neurological and non-neurological conditions including Stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Dementia and COPD.

The team provides a service to the person in the place most suited to their current need (their place of residence, day centre, place of work, clinic). We also offer groups which are held in a clinic setting.

You will need to be able to travel around the Borough of Greenwich independently.

• To provide a speech and language assessment and therapy service to adults with communication and swallowing difficulties due to acquired neurological and non-neurological disorders, working as part the Greenwich Neurorehabilitation Team.
• To manage own caseload of non-complex clients who present with communication and/or dysphagia with support.
• To deliver high quality Speech and Language Therapy assessment, diagnosis and intervention to people with Neurological and non-Neurological conditions and their carers with support.
• To work with the multi-disciplinary team and other health and social care practitioners to manage those with various conditions.
• To use supported communication techniques within a Total Communication approach.
• To provide advice to other professions about working with service users who have communication and swallow impairments.
• To actively participate in continuing professional development activities including completion of NQP and dysphagia competencies.
