SUMMARY
Report to: Head of Finance
You will handle a comprehensive range of accounting duties and assist the Head of Finance based in Hong Kong with financial and management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Responsibilities shall include but not limited to daily and monthly accounting duties such as supervising external accounting firm in ensuring accurate execution of Accounts Payable & Receivable, assisting in month-end closing, preparation of monthly regional consolidated financial statements and support actively in budgeting and forecasting for countries in scope – Singapore, Malaysia and Australia.
THE ROLE
· Manage the annual audit process, addressing all queries from external auditors.
· Handle tax and transfer pricing inquiries from local tax authorities.
· Prepare checklist and consolidate documentation for annual corporate tax filing.
· Verify monthly / quarterly GST filings before submission to local authorities.
· Support actively in the financial planning, yearly budget and 4+8 forecast process.
· Responsible for Corporate Secretarial duties.
· Review and analyze full suite of month-end closing activities, including financial statements to ensure postings are done accurately in accordance in compliance with local regulations.
· Responsible for preparation of various financial reports across markets in scope, including:
- Daily Flash Report
- Monthly Sales Report
- Store Performance Report (TP v E2E)
- Monthly P&L statements with qualitative comments vs Budget / Forecast
- Monthly Cash Flow Report
- Monthly Intercompany Reconciliation
· Organize and participate in the annual stock count and generate stock discrepancy reports.
· Generate expense reports on a quarterly basis for active monitoring. Proactively alert stakeholders and to offer guidance on effective expense management from a financial perspective.
· Provide specific accounting instructions to the outsourced vendor related to AP & AR activities – e.g. the posting of specific cost centre and G/L lines
· Continuous maintenance of partnership with local appointed banks to facilitate cash flow related matters.
· Continuous maintenance of partnership with appointed local insurer brokers on claims related to damage shipments and missing inventory.
· Responsible for CITIES permit applications for Australia based on shipment frequency.
· Prepare audit pack for HQ.
· Support and lead Accounts Executive.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business with 5 years of relevant experience
Experience in managing outsourced vendors relating to AP & AR activities
Proficient in forecasting and budgeting experience
Statutory reporting experience in Australia, Singapore and Malaysia
Experience with tax matters and internal/external audits
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Advanced Excel Skills (including pivot tables)
Highly motivated and collaborative team player with a proactive outlook
