Our refurbishment of the Central Radiology department in early 2021 has led to a cutting-edge diagnostic department, with a future-proofed capital replacement programme in place. We operate the latest technology in terms of our PACS solution with Agfa Enterprise Imaging which was upgraded in December 2019 across our entire estate. Along with our ambitious plans for the future, we are also investing in artificial intelligence solutions within our department.

The clinical commitments of this post will include responsibility for provision of all aspects of a Diagnostic Radiology Service at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals (BTH) NHS FT, including CT, MRI, Plain Film, NM, and Ultrasound. An interest in Breast imaging and a competence in breast interventional procedures would be essential.

There may also be an occasion a requirement to provide diagnostic reports on patients at CDC sites and community hospitals. At present we operate a “Radiologist of the Day” system. The aim of the department is to become more efficient and to minimise interruptions to individual consultants as much as possible.

As a key member of the Estates team, the Energy Manager provides a vital role in Atlas. You must be able to provide clinical leadership and motivation to develop the existing staff whilst maintaining high professional standards, demonstrating commitment to staff development and patient care. Must have knowledge and experience within adult mental health.

You will promote and maintain high standards of care whilst supporting and assisting to implement local and national strategies and initiatives.

You will need to possess excellent interpersonal skills, have leadership and staff development skills. A strong commitment to your ongoing professional education and development is essential.

The successful post holder will be expected be able to rotate across the specialty areas and be able to work shifts covering 24 hours, seven days a week.

The £7k Welcome Bonus package applies to this role. The bonus is only available for people who are not currently employed (or who have not been employed in the last 12 months) by any NHS provider trust in the Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care System in a like-for-like role; e.g. a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse at another Trust in the LSC ICS would not be eligible for the bonus if moving to a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse role at LSCFT. Bank only workers for Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust are eligible for the scheme if they have not held a substantive role in Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care System in the last 12 months (subject to all other terms and conditions being met).

These incentives are subject to recovery clauses within the first 6 months of employment. This bonus is applicable from 1st July 2024 – 30th November 2024.

The £7k Welcome Bonus package is designed to attract and retain the very best staff in post. The amount a new starter would receive is shown in the Welcome Bonus Payment Schedule below:

• £3,000 after 2 months of employment (counted from start date with LSCFT)
• £2,000 after 12 months
• £2,000 after 24 months

PLEASE NOTE: This bonus scheme is subject to a Repayment Clause should the post holder leave this role within 6 months of commencing employment.
