The pre-registration Midwifery programme (shortened) is a Full-time programmeoffered at BSc (Hons) or master’s level at the University of Hertfordshire. It is an innovative, flexible, work-based course for qualified Nurses who want to become Midwives. It will develop your skills and knowledge so that you can become a responsive, confident midwife able to care for women and their babies. Focusing on holistic care, you will gain a sound knowledge of what is normal and healthy in childbearing women, enabling you to recognise and manage problems they might face.

The programme consists of 86 weeks in total, with eight study block weeks, and reading and professional development time included. During your clinical placements, you will be supported through online resources, discussions, group working and reflection sessions. We use a blended approach to theory which includes online and face to face skills sessions.

The Role

Deputy Simulation Job Summary

With support of the Medical Education Department, the post-holder will be responsible for the clinical and educational direction and good governance of simulation and skills training within ELFT Luton and Bedfordshire as well as supporting the Simulation Lead for Trust Wide simulation work. The role will look to establish high quality simulation and skills training programmes for doctors and other healthcare professionals in the Trust within a multidisciplinary simulation training platform.

This role will also work collaboratively with the Simulation Lead to set up a simulation programmed for the Trust.

The post-holder will:

1. Provide consultant leadership to the CPA recovery team.

2. Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and management of issues relating to mental and physical health for adults with acute and severe mental illness in the community (over 18 years) so that intensive and timely treatment can be delivered to prevent chronicity and dependency on psychiatric services.

3. Attend and be the clinical leader of weekly MDT meetings, supported by the team operational lead.

4. Provide clinical advice and guidance to primary care physicians to manage patients in the least restrictive environment

5. Undertake all work in the context of the recovery approach which is emphasised across the Trust, placing the service user at the centre of planning and decision making.

6. Fulfil Responsibilities as a Psychiatrist approved under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act 1983, where relevant.

7. The service has a KPI targets and a requirement to meet them. The post holder will work with the Team manager to ensure the targets are met.

8. Provide support and training to other health care professionals and support service users through the care pathway as required

9. Lead on the delivery of high quality care in all settings and be mindful of quality targets set by the Trust and those set nationally.

The successful applicant will be a self-starter with a can-do attitude to solution finding and the implementation of robust & efficient working practices. Experience of Quickbooks will be necessary as is a willingness to assist with some general office tasks when required. Key skills:

The Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP)/ Children Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) role is an exciting opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors in England focusing on a whole school approach.



The Bedford MHS Team is part of a wider integrated schools pathway service in the locality, where the team are working to reduce health inequalities in communities where these are most prominent, working closely with the schools and other external partners addressing their most prominent needs, by implementing whole schools approaches and targeted interventions. Bedford is a very diverse locality, with high levels of the young population having English as an additional language. You would be joining a comprehensive and dynamic CAMHS service, delivering a substantial stepped model of care following the needs-led Thrive framework.

The post holder will play a key role as members of the new Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs), who will have the responsibility for delivering schools' overarching approach to providing mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people.



The role will help to develop and deliver a wide range of interventions, projects and system change with the aim of whole school and whole community approaches to supporting young peoples mental health.

You will be part of a very comprehensive stepped care model of delivery by CAMHS ELFT services in the county, and be an integral part of a thriving and substantive specialist multi-disciplinary service offer.
