We are recruiting for a skilled Night Nurse/Paramedic to join our Urgent Care Service in East Kent.

The East Kent Night Nursing Service provides care for patients overnight with an urgent clinical need such as end of life symptom management, verification of expected death and urinary catheter issues. Referrals are received from NHS 111, SECAMB, Out of Hours GP and directly from patients and relatives via our Local Referral Unit.

After a period of induction and consolidation you would be expected to rotate as the shift co-ordinator. This role includes triaging the calls and offering telephone advice or allocation for a clinician to visit.

We are looking to recruit an experienced band 5 practitioner to the service primarily based in Ashford. The successful candidate would need to be comfortable with lone working and driving long distances across the geographical area.

It is essential that you are comfortable with lone working and possess the relevant skills and knowledge to work independently with minimal supervision.

A full valid driving license and access to a car is essential.



Your role will involve:

• Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of holistic care

•The development of integrated care plans in partnership with the patient

•To order equipment and send onward referrals as necessary

•To support in the supervision and development of all junior staff including Health Care Assistants and Students

•To actively work as a member of the multi-professional team to provide high quality care to patients

•To undertake a range of competent clinical interventions and identify any deterioration in patients’ condition, taking appropriate action.

•Manage a caseload of patients on a daily basis consisting of patients with complex needs associated within a specific speciality.

•To support in duty role and complete triages

On a daily basis, you will form part of a small team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians providing a safe and effective clinical pharmacy service to the acute and emergency floor. This includes support and advice on the post take ward round, medicines reconciliation, co-ordination of discharges, Nurses and Doctors education and training and supervising the rotational pharmacists working within acute medicine.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Therapy Assistant to work full time at the William Harvey Hospital. The post holder will assist in the rehabilitation and recovery of patients on the Medical wards as an essential team member of the Therapy team on site.

We have an opportunity for a qualified and skilled Team Leader to join our Community Nursing Team based in Ashford.

The community nursing service provides case load management for housebound patients to support their nursing needs and enabling them to self-care. Nurses within the team are supported to develop advanced skills to manage the complexity of patients seen.

Our service operates seven days a week from 8am – 6pm. There are two teams supporting patients registered with GP practices working in the Ashford area and surrounding villages within the Ashford Primary Care Network.

Each team has two senior nurses who take responsibility for a defined geographical area, and provide clinical leadership to their Band 5, Band 4 and Band 3 staff. The team will work together to manage a caseload patients delivering a high-quality service.

This is the perfect opportunity for nurses wanting to move to a community setting with advanced clinical skills or expertise.

We are an avid supporter of development and therefore, candidates without the specialist District Nurse qualification or having a recognised advanced clinical skills/module will be considered for trainee posts.

Using the named nurse model, we want to allow nurses to spend more time with patients, promoting self-management where possible, and improving patient lives.

Three exciting new leadership opportunities have arisen for inspirational and experienced consultants who want to help shape the education and training of current and future doctors in one of the largest trusts in the country. The Medical Education Department is offering three Care Group Directors of Medical Education roles which will attract 4 PAs that will form part of a 10PA consultant role (specialty – see below).

Post holders will support the Director of Medical Education and will each hold a specific portfolio of work aligned to the Trust’s Care Groups and overseeing and coordinating work around the education and training of medical students and junior doctors at all levels. You will work collaboratively at Care Group Associate Medical Director and managing director level. You will be required to ensure that all students and doctors have the appropriate supervision, that their curriculum requirements are met, that any and all additional support (including IMG doctors) requirements are delivered. You will lead a team to ensure processes for learner support (additional support, SRTT, LTFT, Flexible Portfolio Training and more) are implemented effectively in collaboration with other stakeholders including departments, rota coordinators, OH for example.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate significant educational management and leadership skills and experience including the management of education programmes and resources.

This post will be based at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, and currently offers rotations within the Acute medical wards (including Healthcare of the Older Person), Critical Care and Trauma/Orthopaedics. with further experience in additional speciality areas becoming available in the future.

Our Occupational Therapists work alongside other members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to support patients on the acute wards, offering assessment and treatment alongside discharge planning.

• To manage a clinical caseload of patients, and be responsible for the assessment, formulation and evaluation of patient-centred care.

• To be able to facilitate safe discharge planning from hospital to the community.

• To deputise for Team Leader on clinical and managerial issues within the team

• To be actively involved with training and development within the Department in support of new graduate Occupational therapists, student therapists, therapy apprentices and support workers alongside other senior members of the team.

• Promote the role of OT and demonstrate the values to the members of the multi-disciplinary team.
