This is an exciting opportunity in paediatric haematology and stem cell transplant and gene therapy as a Senior Locally Employed Doctor at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

These posts are one of a number of fellowship posts in our department of Haematology/Oncology and are specifically designed to give the successful candidate more exposure to paediatric haematologic oncology and BMT. Our BMT programme has specific expertise in stem cell and gene therapy of metabolic diseases, stem cell therapy of refractory leukaemia and CAR-T in ALL.

This is an academic programme and the candidate will have the opportunity to prepare research for presentation at international meetings, and for publication. is designed to give the successful candidate a thorough grounding in paediatric oncology, general and malignant haematology, clinical stem cell transplantation and gene therapies, including CAR-T gene therapies.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to rotate through the specialties in their time at RMCH. There will be out-of-hours cover of all specialities.



This post is suitable for individuals seeking a period of higher training in Paediatric Haematology/ BMT or Paediatric Oncology to develop their clinical skills in a highly regarded and internationally renowned service.



The appointees would spend most of the time on the wards and be responsible for the clinical care of patients in the abovementioned sub-specialties at RMCH. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Emergency Medicine Team at Wythenshawe Hospital, part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking to appoint Junior Clinical Fellows (Junior Locally Employed Doctors) to complement our team.



You will be working in one of Greater Manchester’s busiest hospitals, where over 100,000 patients are assessed in the Emergency Department every year.We seek to recruit dynamic individuals to work in our state-of-the-art ED, wherein there is a Paediatric Emergency Department, Urgent Treatment Centre, Resuscitation area, and Same Day Emergency Care unit whch offers a front-door service for Medical and Respiratory referrals.

Applications are welcomed from UK and international doctors training in adult cardiology with the necessary experience to take up a period of training in advanced transcatheter structural heart interventions. This post would suit either an experienced interventional trainee (close to or post CCST or with an international equivalent) who wishes to enter a dedicated period of training in structural intervention focused around TAVI. To facilitate maximum availability to the TAVI service there will not be any participation in the middle grade cardiology on call rota.



The post involves dedicated daytime activities within the TAVI team working closely with the Wythenshawe based TAVI operators and TAVI nurses. The successful candidate will learn all aspects of TAVI assessment, TAVI procedures, CT analysis and echocardiographic assessment of aortic valve disease.



As a reference centre for TAVI CT training, and the only centre in Europe to offer dedicated CT training for both Edwards Sapien and Medtronic Evolut valves, we are involved in training consultant TAVI operators from around Europe. The fellowship therefore offers unparalleled training in CT TAVI assessment with the trainee having personal access to the latest version of the gold standard 3 mensio software, that is not readily available elsewhere.

Working in the lab directly with consultant proctors for both Edwards Sapien and Medtronic Evolut valves the trainee would also be involved performing procedures with highly trained operators, who are involved in training other consultant teams around UK and Europe and so will be exposed to the optimal procedural techniques. In addition, as only one of a handful of UK sites using the Biosensors Allegra valve, the trainee will be involved in procedures with a wide variety of platforms.



As one of the founder sites globally for the cusp overlap view for deployment of self expanding valves, and with one the lowest pacemaker rates of any unit worldwide, as well as specific expertise in TAVI for bicuspid disease and one of the largest units for alternative access in the UK, there will be ample opportunities to write up case series and other publications. Indeed this will be an expectation of any successful candidate, with dedicated job planned time (see below) The post will also work with our cardiology research nurse team to support the department’s current and future portfolio of national clinical trial work. Currently this will afford the opportunity to train in cerebral protection devices such as the Sentinel.



The team comprises interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, TAVI nurses and full imaging, interventional radiology and vascular surgical support. Supervising consultants will be Dr Fraser, Dr Chowdhary, Dr Keshavarzi, Dr Sarma, Dr Buch and Mr Hasan.



The ideal candidates will be highly motivated, have a keen interest in cardiac imaging, valvular heart disease, interventional cardiology, and clinical research. Good communication skills and organisational skills are vital, you should be able to work well both in a group and independently. A relevant primary medical qualification and current holding of, or eligibility for UK professional registration are mandatory. The post is a non-training post for practitioners specialising in plastic surgery who have experience of microsurgery. The post will also be suitable for trainees who are waiting to obtain a definitive consultant post in plastic surgery having completed training and who wish to increase their expertise in microsurgical breast reconstruction.

The post coincides with the expansion and enhancement of the microsurgical breast reconstruction services provided to the Greater Manchester population to accommodate increasing patient demand. There are 4 consultants (with another appointment imminent) in the unit, specialising in microsurgical breast reconstruction with approximately 160 free flap cases per year. The majority of the post will encompass breast microsurgical procedures with the plastic surgery breast team consultants but there may be some scope to become involved in other microsurgical cases (i.e. lower limb). Duties include breast reconstruction theatre sessions and clinics and involvement in teaching and mentoring the specialty registrar grade. Involvement in research and audit is expected. To provide comprehensive assessments to plan and identify the mental health needs of the patients referred to the service and to follow up. This would primarily be for Children and Young People however this is not exclusive.

To be able to engage and establish an empathic rapport with patients with a wide spectrum of mental health problems in difficult settings.

To undertake and record comprehensive risk assessment, devise and implement risk management plans for service users at risk of vulnerability, self-harm, self-neglect, or risk of physical, sexual, emotional harm to others, using the agreed GMMH Risk assessment tool.

Ensure, as far as practicable, the full involvement of service users – and where appropriate, relatives and carers – in the assessment of their needs and the formulation and review of their care plans.




The service puts an emphasis on diversion and discharge from A&E and on the facilitation of early but effective discharge from general admission wards. The service operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Provide specialist CAMHS clinical leadership, supervision, support and consultation to the MDT in the MHLS team,

Lead on the development of the MDT knowledge and skills set around the assessment and response to the needs of CYP. This will be achieved through the delivery of training, and supervision

Provide direct patient interventions for CYP focusing on relapse prevention, early discharge.

Expected to individually provide, and support the wider MDT in providing, safe and comprehensive assessments of CYP attending the A & E department. Which would include offering advice, support and consultation.

provide a service to people of all ages within the hospital wards and A&E, assessing individuals with a range of complex needs, such as organic and functional illness, this would include dementia and a range of illnesses associated with people from later life. In addition, there will be arequirement to assess individuals with learning disabilities.

Be expected to provide support and training to the acute hospital staff regarding recognizing mental illness and appropriate onward actions to be taken.

Offer assessment, support and care for individuals brought to Place of Safety facilities in relation to Section 136 of the MHA 1983.

Heart failure both new onset and chronic which requires close management to avoid admission. The role also takes part in the WTWA senior on call rota supporting cardiology and the emergency
primary PCI service which covers all of GM.

You should have undergone at least 3 years specialist training in general cardiology and have some experience in Heart Failure or
echocardiography.
This post is ideal for someone wishing to enhance their sub-specialty knowledge and experience in either Heart Failure and will include exposure to the catheter labs, outpatient clinics and supporting the inpatient wards.
The successful candidate will receive advanced training in heart failure . Experience working in a cardiology department in the UK will be important for this post due to the busy and challenging nature of the work of a registrar in our tertiary cardiac centre.

The main focus of this role is to improve and be trained in Heart Failure or under the supervision of the consultant team.
There is an expectation of the successful postholder to fully contribute to Heart Failure service at Wythenshawe Hospital.
Furthermore, the postholder will support the consultant team with specific outpatient clinics, which will be selected to complement the postholder's
training needs in conjunction with supporting the service with its secondary and tertiary centre work.
There is also a commitment to the Cardiology middle-grade on-call rota, which supports the hospital's acute inpatient work and the wider Greater
Manchester footprint as a key point of contact for the tertiary centre.

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Locally Employed Doctor to join the MFT Thoracic Surgery service, based at Wythenshawe Hospital. The post have been created following expansion of lung cancer screening services across Greater Manchester, and at a time of considerable growth for the Thoracic Surgery service, which remains one of the largest lung surgery centres within the UK and the only service in Greater Manchester.

It is an exciting time to join our team. Our Thoracic Surgery team will be performing more than 900 anatomical lung resections per year and around 50% of those resections are performed using minimally invasive techniques, including Robotically Assisted Thoracic Surgery (RATS).

The team consists of 9 cardiothoracic registrars, who are a combination of Senior Clinical Fellows (SCFs), Associate Specialists and Higher Surgical Trainees (HSTs). The number of HSTs in the department at any time ranges from two to five. All colleagues working on this rota will be allocated to a named consultant surgeon and will undertake their core activities with that named consultant. This will include pairing with the named consultant surgeon of the week (as named Registrar of the Week RoW). Consultant & registrar pairings will be rotated on a 6 or 12-monthly basis. SCFs are afforded the same training opportunities as HSTs. The successful candidate can expect to attend operating theatres and outpatient clinics on a regular basis, with the opportunity to gain experience across the spectrum of thoracic surgery.

Join Altus Education Partnership as a Trust Senior IT Engineer and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, customer-focused IT services across our growing family of academies. With a mission to provide exceptional education, Altus currently supports over 4,500 students and 450 staff in Rochdale and its surrounding areas, with exciting plans for expansion.
Based at our Trust’s Head Office, you’ll be a key technical expert, ensuring innovative and secure IT systems that empower both teaching and learning. From managing advanced infrastructure and networks to leading IT projects and mentoring junior staff, this role offers variety, impact, and the opportunity to shape our IT strategy as the Trust grows.
We’re looking for a motivated professional with advanced technical knowledge, excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding IT solutions in an educational setting.
