The post holder will support the provision of respite, for Children, adults with a learning disability/ASD with a range of complex health needs and behaviours of concern. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly over a 24 hour period as part of a team to ensure that all needs are met and high standards of care are delivered.
1. Provide holistic care for service users (SU) for adults with Autism or a Learning Disability and/or complex health needs, e.g., uncontrolled epilepsy, life limiting conditions, dual diagnosis, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and other conditions and syndromes that require specific clinical interventions.
2. Be Key worker for named individuals and assist in the development of care plans and risk assessments and attend meetings as required under the supervision or direction from senior staff.
3. Complete electronic Nursing Notes, paper records and any mandatory charts relevant to the individual, highlighting any changes to the qualified staff.
4. Contribute to high quality of care within the service, and within the community providing a warm supportive atmosphere in which the post holder can establish friendly and caring relationships with individuals and their families.
5. Must demonstrate a positive attitude when working alongside people with a learning disability and Autism, showing a commitment to supporting them secure a valued and enjoyable life as possible.
6. Promote activities that are age appropriate and culturally normative, considering individual needs.
