Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, this Summer, we’re looking to add a Quality Engineering Intern located in our Salt Lake City, Utah site.

Reporting to the Senior Quality Manager, the Intern the student will assist the Quality Team with projects impacting yields, performance and supporting Quality Systems, Suppliers, Auditing, Manufacturing, Mass Production and NPI. 

What a typical day looks like:

• Involvement with different Quality areas (Supplier Quality, Material Review Board (MRB), Quality Systems, Manufacturing Quality Engineering, NPI (New Product Introduction)
• Analyze data and process flow procedures
• Research and create various reports as needed
• Collaborate with Engineering Teams to address Quality issues related to suppliers and products, auditing results and overall improvement of KPI’s
• Attend team meetings and support project work as needed

Student qualities we’re seeking for this internship assignment:

• Currently enrolled Senior level student majoring in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical & Computer Engineering
• Enthusiastic about working in a manufacturing environment
• Highly collaborative, creative and excellent communication skills
• MS Office Suite
• Minitab or Statistical Software and basic concepts on Quality Core Tools and Management system
• Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills

Reporting to the Production Manager, the student will assist with daily engineering tasks while learning, collaborating and working alongside Engineers and cross-functional teams as well as supporting the department in manufacturing process improvement projects, metrics management and training.

What a typical day looks like:

• Work with production management team, operational process, and testing
• Exposure to 3 different operational builds: Server Test, Server build and Rack build
• Collaborate with cross functional support teams: Quality, Training, Engineering, IT, Warehouse, etc.
• Complete Kaizen activity as assigned
• Attend team meetings and support project work as needed

Student qualities we’re seeking for this internship assignment:

• Junior/Senior level student pursuing Engineering degree related to Production/Operations/Process/Manufacturing
• Enthusiastic about working in a manufacturing environment
• Operations/production field related work experience, useful
• Strong computer skills

Reporting to the Automation Manager, the intern will work on challenging projects in support of real-time automation issues in manufacturing and will develop skills and gain in-depth knowledge of the business.

What a typical day looks like:

• Support the evaluation, identification and implementation of improvements/changes to Automated process.
• Prepare SOW for the automated process proposals.
• Improve and create measurement process and KPI for the automated processes.
• Update/create comprehensive maintenance guides (preventive and corrective).
• Conduct internal Automated process training.
• Create records for the action tracker, lessons learned and risk management records for the projects.
• Monitoring and control automations for the site.
• Attend team meetings to align on daily activities and escalations

Student qualities we’re seeking for this internship assignment:

• Senior level student pursuing degree in Automation Engineering/Mechatronics Engineering, Science, or related Engineering major
