As a Lead Civil Engineer, you will:

Domestic Gas Engineers required for large housing maintenance specialist with lots of work in East and central London areas. Suitable candidates must be competent with breakdown and servicing on all domestic gas boilers.

There is a requirement for all of the engineers in the team to cover callout. This is 1 day per week, every week and rolling ( including weekend days). Out of hours are 24hr, however after 10pm will only be for major water leaks. These are paid at £40 incomplete and £50 for completions. Overtime works at 1.5 hour rate travel to job and time to complete. There are also opportunities for training and development.

Suitable Gas engineers must hold domestic ACS qualifications for CENWAT, CCN, CKR,HTR. Qualifications in OFTEC or LPG are also desired but not essential.

• Embedding benchmarking into Business As Usual processes, through the BMS and by providing training and guidance
• Support the development of time and production benchmarking by working through necessary steps with the planning community – coded P6 and AIMS data, data processing and structuring for ingestion into PowerBI, continued data gathering through project lifecycle.
• Support preconstruction and project teams to produce options assessments using the benchmarking system (currently cost and carbon, but also in future, time) and to upskill others in this capability.
• Benchmarking shall be an essential part of governance and support decision-making at bid, preconstruction and construction stages – support preconstruction and project delivery teams to achieve this.

What is the job role?

About You


You’re a seasoned Project Professional with a proven track record in delivering large-scale, complex projects. Your experience spans:


- A background in mechanical, electrical, process, systems, or civil engineering, ideally within large industrial projects.

- Demonstrated experience in project management, contract management, and multi-disciplinary coordination.

- A solid understanding of the complexities of major projects, particularly in interface management across different scope areas.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to work effectively with clients, contractors, and diverse stakeholders.

- A professional mindset with a focus on accuracy, resilience, teamwork, and delivering results under pressure.

What sets you apart is your ability to translate technical details into actionable strategies, engage stakeholders, and inspire your team to succeed.


Qualifications & Skills:

- A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on expertise in project management within a regulated environment (professional qualifications like PMP or Prince2 are a bonus).
- Outstanding communication, organisational, and leadership skills.

- Sizewell C Limited will be moving offices from 90 Whitfield Street to 25 Copthall Avenue.
25 Copthall Avenue is a modern building just a short walk from Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations. Sizewell C will occupy the whole of the 4th floor. We are targeting a move in February 2025.This role will be contractually based at 25 Copthall Avenue. However, depending on the date of the move there may be a period that you will be required to work temporarily from our existing office at 90 Whitfield Street.

• Serves as DeCA consultant to interpret and supply advise on construction, maintenance or repair policies and regulations

• Leads the mechanical engineering team in the development of designs and project execution documents (plans, specifications, and design documentation reports).
• Prepares and/or oversees general designs, technical analyses, layouts, and computations, as necessary, for developing various features of the project.
• Provides technical advice and guidance to the mechanical engineering team, Engineering Division (ED), and including internal elements, Architect-Engineer (A-E) consultants, and non-federal sponsors, as required.
• Conducts site inspections, forms conclusions, and provides oral or written reports containing recommendations for action.
• Represents Engineering Division in meetings with outside entities including construction contractors, the designated non-federal sponsor, and other local government officials.
• Contacts other government agencies and the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Headquarters (HQ) community of practice leads for advice on complex technical issues and guidance on the Engineering Regulation (ER) and Engineering Manuals (EM).
