Web App Consulting is in search of a qualified and skilled Network Engineer who will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting computer networks to ensure smooth communication within an organization.
Here are the key responsibilities:
o Plan and design network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPNs, etc.) according to the organization’s needs.
o Configure and deploy network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.) and software solutions.
o Set up and configure network devices and systems, ensuring network performance and security.
o Monitor network performance to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
o Perform regular updates, patches, and firmware upgrades on network devices.
o Troubleshoot and resolve network issues quickly, ensuring minimal downtime.
o Implement network security measures, including firewalls, encryption, and VPNs, to protect against data breaches.
o Regularly conduct security audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
o Respond to network security incidents and mitigate risks.
o Evaluate network performance and make recommendations for improvements.
o Troubleshoot network bottlenecks and optimize traffic flow to enhance efficiency.
o Maintain network diagrams, configurations, and documentation to ensure easy troubleshooting and future upgrades.
o Generate reports on network performance, issues, and resolutions for management review.
o Work closely with other IT teams (e.g., systems administrators, security specialists) to ensure seamless integration of network systems.
o Provide technical support and training to staff on network-related issues.
o Develop and implement disaster recovery plans for network systems.
o Ensure regular backups and tests for data and network configurations to avoid data loss during system failures.
Skills and Qualifications Needed:
• Having a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
• At least 2 years of work experience as Network Engineer is required.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, OSPF, and BGP is crucial. Familiarity with IP addressing and subnetting is essential.
• Proficiency in network security practices, including configuring firewalls, implementing VPNs, and using intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) to protect networks from threats.
• Practical knowledge of network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. Ability to configure and troubleshoot these devices is a must.
• Strong diagnostic skills to troubleshoot network issues quickly. Ability to identify bottlenecks, latency issues, and connectivity problems, and resolve them efficiently.
• Experience in network troubleshooting tools.
Salary: $65000 to 85000 per Annum + Superannuation
