Service Engineer
£OTE 35 - 45K, BS30, Bonus 40 hour standard week with paid overtime, Monday to Friday working, 28 days holiday, Pension, Permanent opportunity.

The duties of the service engineer or mechanical service engineer or field service fitter, will be servicing, repairing, delivering and installation of mechanical equipment at various locations.

The service engineer role will involve

• Mechanical repair, servicing, fitting and installation duties
• This is normally to customer sites but can also be in the workshop
• Changing bearings, rollers, motors at site locations and facilities
• The ability to read basic engineering drawings is preferred
• Likely to be around 50 hours most weeks (paid ovetrime)
• knowledge of conveyors or similar types of production machinery or mechanical material handling equipment would be of particular interest but not essential
• Ability to liaise in person with customers providing a professional, responsible point of contact
• Working and travelling individually or sometimes in a team of two
• Full driving licence required but transit van remains at depot
• Ability to attend the depot daily to pick van up and start work early when travelling to different locations i.e. 6am starts with overnight stays (fully expensed and overnight night allowance) 3 or 4 times a month on average

The service engineer skills and requirements

·Would suit someone with previous experience of working with and or servicing mechanical machinery or equipment.
·Any knowledge of conveyors or similar types of production machinery or mechanical material handling equipment would be of interest.
·Any engineering qualifications are of interest but not essential if a suitable work history can be demonstrated.
·The successful candidate will have previously worked within a Service Engineering or production environment and will have mechanical fitting and repair/maintenance or transferable skills.
·A current and full Driving licence is essential

Our client are an established and successful manufacturing company and are looking for a Mechanical Assembler / Fitter to join them asap. Working as part of a small team, this role would suit someone who has previous production assembly or mechanical assembly experience - any pipe fitting or electrical assembly knowledge would also be an advantage.

Duties will include:

• Working from engineering drawings and work instructions to carry out sub assembly work
• Using hand tools and power tools
• Assembly parts and drilling onto larger units
• Order picking and some stores work

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role - knowledge of pipe fitting or similar would be ideal.

The quality engineer, lead quality inspector, engineering lead inspector,
role will involve the following

• FMEA's and FAIR's
• Supporting the requirements for documenting and maintaining records for these activities
• Performing CMM programming with Aberlink
• Being the link between a small team of quality inspectors and the QM
• Dealing with quality issues and delivering practical solutions on the shop-floor and to colleagues.
• Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications,
• Review and interpret route cards, process instructions, drawings and inspection procedures to determine dimensions and tolerances
• Using all types of standard measuring equipment from time to time
• Working with and writing reports in accordance with AS9102.

The successful quality engineer, lead quality inspector, engineering lead inspector, would suit someone who is currently a quality engineer or inspector and looking to progress. In this instance candidates would need to demonstrate exceptional skills and aptitude, have an aerospace background and be eager to further develop their career.

Competent CMM programming with Aberlink is also required.

Candidates suited to this role are likely to have a related engineering background, City + Guilds/NVQ or equivalent qualifications and or specific quality related qualifications.
