Summary:

Works throughout the software development life cycle and performs in a utility capacity to create,

design, code, debug, maintain, test, implement and validate applications with a broad understanding of a variety of

languages and architectures. Analyzes existing applications or formulate logic for new applications, procedures,

flowcharting, coding and debugging programs. Maintains and utilizes application and programming documents in

the development of code. Recommends changes in development, maintenance and system standards. Creates

appropriate deliverables and develops application implementation plans throughout the life cycle in an agile

development environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Use a wide variety of AWS cloud services to implement and support platform architecture
• Model and create resources in Kubernetes
• Model, build, and maintain infrastructure using Terraform on AWS
• Build, maintain, and support InfoSec solutions
• Effectively manage and assign projects while lending support to the team.
• Build and maintain tools, solutions and microservices associated with deployment and our operations
• platform
• Actively troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing and production, catching and solving issues
• before launch.
• Test the system integrity, implemented designs, application developments and other processes related to
• infrastructure, making improvements as needed.
• Automate the operational processes as needed, with accuracy and in compliance with our security
• requirements.
• Establish DevOps Engineer team best practices.
• Manage code deployments, fixes, updates and related processes.
• Work with open-source technologies.
• Work with CI and CD tools, and source control such as Bitbucket/Jenkins/Sonar/Nexus and Docker
• Lead the team through development and operations.

Requires at least:

(a) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; and

(b) four years of experience as Software Engineer or related position. Experience must include the following

Experience and skills:

• 3 years of Automation Scripting experience using Python and Groovy.
• 2 years of experience in Kubernetes and Cloud Technologies; and
• 2 years of experience in Linux.

As an alternative, the Employer will accept:

A combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (e.g., 3 years work experience = 1 year missing education); and

6 years of experience as Software Engineer or related position.

Purpose

In a high visibility, high pressure role; designs, develops, configures, and maintains enterprise IBM Z machine infrastructure systems as well as installed third-party systems components to ensure reliability in accordance with user needs and technical specifications while meeting defined service level agreements for availability and file delivery. Recognizes and troubleshoots problems with hardware, operating systems, and third-party software running on an IBM Mainframe; and proactively eliminates roadblocks to potential processing challenges. Maintains a  consultatively collaborative relationship with infrastructure, business, and application partners; as well as clients and vendors. Performs and supports operational processes improvements and automation across multiple environments ensuring all tasks are managed and conducted to the highest possible standards.  Establishes and documents standards and procedures (including disaster recovery procedures) for compliance and audit. As a multi discipline SME elevates technical competency while communicating with and providing technical support and metric reporting to system users as well as internal & external clients.  Seeks to drive efficiency through automation while increasing stability, reducing risk, and minimizing expense.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science preferred, other majors considered. Willing to accept additional experience in lieu of a degree

• Minimum 8 Years experience in system administration in a highly available enterprise environment

• Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills

• Team Player, able to work independently, while still bringing strong collaborative and consultative skills to bear

• Self starting learner with deep sense of ownership over assigned areas

• Working knowledge of JCL, SAS, VBA, SMF, RMF, WLM, and zPCR

• Expertise in Statistical and data analysis

• Proficient with MS Office - particularly Excel; likes math, numbers, charts, logic

• Analytical solution oriented thinker, strong deductive reasoning skills able to turn data into insight

• Able to Multitask, identify critical tasks, and prioritize work appropriately

• Applicants with less experience may be considered for a lower level position

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiar with TSYS TS1, TS2 commercial and consumer batch schedules

• Experience with SQL, COBOL, JCL, IMS, DB2, Python

• Any Computer Programming Experience a plus.

• 6+ yrs Mainframe capacity planning and system performance experience.

• 6+ yrs experience with z/OS subsystems DB2, IMS, CICS, MQ, and/or Storage.

• 6+ yrs TSYS experience.

• Working knowledge of REXX and/or Python.

• MXG Codeshark.

What Part Will You Play?

• Develops moderately complex code using both front and/or back-end programming languages within multiple platforms as needed in collaboration with business and technology teams for internal and external client software solutions.  Designs, creates, and delivers moderately complex program specifications for code development and support on multiple projects/issues with a wide understanding of the application/database to align interactions and technologies better.
• Provides broad and in-depth knowledge of analysis, modification, and development of complex code/unit testing to develop concise application documentation.  Performs and advises on testing, validation requirements, and corrective measures for complex code deficiencies and provides systemic proposals.
• Provides advice to leadership on the design, development, and enforcement of business/infrastructure application standards to include associated controls, procedures, and monitoring to ensure compliance and accuracy of data. Applies a full understanding and in-depth knowledge of procedures, methodology, and application standards to include Payment Card Industry (PCI) security compliance.

What Are We Looking For in This Role?

Minimum Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Typically, at least 8 years of professional Experience In Coding, Designing, Developing, And Analyzing Data.  Typically has advanced knowledge and use of two or more opposing front / back end languages/technologies from the following but not limited to: two or more modern programming languages used in the enterprise, experience working with various APIs, external Services, experience with both relational and NoSQL Databases.

Preferred Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 8+ years of professional Experience In Coding, Designing, Developing, And Analyzing Data.
• Full-stack experience in one or more of the following: Java, Spring, JavaScript, SQL, Spark, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and the confidence to easily pick up others.
• Experience with various database technologies, including AWS database, large-scale SQL, and NoSQL databases and design.
• Hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying secure, scalable services in the cloud and SaaS environments.
• Deep understanding of software quality and what it takes to construct resilient and impactful solutions.

What Are Our Desired Skills and Capabilities?

• Certifications in Java, AWS, Kubernetes, Spark, or similar areas.
• Exposure to cloud environments and preferably AWS.
• Exposure to DevOps tools like Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD
