What you’ll be doing

The Civil Building Lead is a delivery-oriented role responsible for the development of specific structures, buildings, or cross-functional areas.

There are two positions for the Civil building lead role, one for Hinkley Point C and the other for Sizewell C.

As a civil building lead, you’ll monitor progress, drive change management, and proactively address technical issues, risks, and design modifications to keep the project on track. Additionally, you’ll contribute to risk registers, manage design open points, and champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and deliverables. Your expertise will also support mentoring and guiding colleagues to achieve shared project and personal objectives.

For the SZC project, you’ll oversee the preparation and justification phases for building replication based on the HPC design, under the supervision and support of the civil team lead. This involves collecting and preparing input data from both HPC and specific SZC sources, as well as coordinating and reviewing the calculation phase.

For the HPC project, you will be responsible for the civil design of one of the buildings, under the supervision and support of the Civil team lead. You’ll lead and coordinate the civil engineering design process, ensuring consistency and quality across deliverables while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, subject matter experts, and site-based teams. You’ll play a key role in managing technical reviews, resolving complex design challenges, and ensuring seamless integration across disciplines and stakeholders.


Who you are

You will hold a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent and possess extensive experience in the field, along with in-depth knowledge of Eurocodes and Health & Safety regulations. You’ll have solid understanding of EPR engineering processes and project engineering procedures, coupled with a demonstrated ability to set, achieve, and uphold high standards in safety and quality. Proficiency in tools like Microsoft Office and Navisworks is essential, along with strong communication and organisational skills to coordinate with diverse stakeholders effectively.

What you’ll be doing

The Civil team Lead is a delivery-oriented role responsible for the development of specific structures, buildings, or cross-functional areas. As a Civil team Lead for the SZC project, you’ll oversee the preparation and justification phases for building replication based on the HPC design. The SZC Civil Team Lead will work closely with the other Civil Team Leads and other members of the civil teams as well as the building layout team. They will also build and maintain relationships with teams from other disciplines throughout EPR-E as well as with external stakeholders such as civil works designers and equipment suppliers.

You will drive the delivery of civil design projects, ensuring the highest quality standards, on time, and within budget. You’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex technical challenges, manage design updates, and coordinate deliverables to keep the project on track.

You’ll be responsible for identifying risks and opportunities, managing team resources, and ensuring smooth coordination between the civil designer and other disciplines. You’ll also support progress reporting, drive technical verifications, and contribute to the creation of the Design Risk Register, while sharing valuable lessons learned to improve future projects.


Who you are

You’ll have experience in Eurocodes, reinforced concrete design, and Health and Safety regulations to deliver complex projects with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency. You’ll have a strong ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders while managing and meeting deadlines to ensure successful project delivery.

You will hold a degree in Civil Engineering and understand civil engineering contracts in regulated industries like nuclear, oil & gas, or rail. Your knowledge of the EPR engineering process and project procedures will be crucial as you help lead and shape engineering excellence across the team.

- Sizewell C Limited will be moving offices from 90 Whitfield Street to 25 Copthall Avenue. 25 Copthall Avenue is a modern building just a short walk from Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations. Sizewell C will occupy the whole of the 4th floor. We are targeting a move in February 2025.This role will be contractually based at 25 Copthall Avenue. However, depending on the date of the move there may be a period that you will be required to work temporarily from our existing office at 90 Whitfield Street.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll manage technical aspects related to environmental requirements for systems and buildings as part of the design process, providing technical expertise during the design, construction, and commissioning phases. Additionally, you’ll contribute to or review reports in collaboration with other design teams and the Client, ensuring systems and buildings align with Edvance's scope and requirements.

Additionally, you’ll participate in various Working Groups, attending regular meetings with design entities, Clients, or Regulators to discuss relevant topics and provide support where needed.


Who you are

Being an Environmental Engineer means demonstrating experience working within engineering projects, with a strong knowledge of environmental requirements, studies, and assessments. You’ll be familiar with the implementation of environmental requirements and have a solid understanding of Best Available Techniques (BAT) for ensuring compliance.

You’ll have a knowledge of Nuclear Safety Assessment Principles and their application along with experience in system design and layout engineering, allowing you to navigate technical challenges effectively.

We’re looking for someone who has a strong engineering background and has the ability to analysis a design in order to ensure compliance with engineering requirements.

What you’ll be doing

The Civil Contract Manager’s primary responsibilities include project management, reporting, risk management, stakeholder engagement, contract audits, and sharing the lessons learned throughout the process.
You will ensure contract specifications are adhered to by contract holders, oversee the technical surveillance of contract holder studies, establish surveillance programmes and annual reports, resolve technical queries, organise and run weekly and monthly progress meetings. You will also work to improve contract tools, lead contractual discussions, and prepare, review, and analyse Early Warnings and Compensation Events, in addition to reviewing and validating monthly payment applications. Reporting duties include preparing and delivering financial and progress reports. As part of your risk management duties, you will maintain the risk register of the contracts. Stakeholder management involves liaising with different entities from the client organisation. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting quality and financial audits of the contract holder, and recording and sharing the lessons that have been learnt from both current activities and previous projects, for the benefit of others on the project.

Who you are

You hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, along with practical experience in contract management and a solid understanding of contract regulations and relevant laws. You possess strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple contracts and projects simultaneously. You have a solid understanding of legal terminology, are comfortable working within a multidimensional team, have a keen attention to detail, and excellent written and oral communication skills. You are also capable of handling confidential information with professionalism and exhibit creative problem-solving abilities. Fluency in English is mandatory.

The Role
The SZC Project Team is a growing, diverse, and collaborative organisation committed to engaging stakeholders, triggering development consent, and preparing the project for the start of construction. As the Engineering & Technical Lead you will work within the Civil Works Programme, which is an integral part of this project. You will be responsible for the definition of the design, engineering, and technical requirements, leadership of the delivery of all CWP design (from requirements definition to acceptance), including management of the Engineering & Technical budget and associated resources and supply chain to deliver the design to the CWP Delivery teams, integration of constructability requirements and design integration within the Civil Works Programme and with Site Establishment and Offsite Infrastructure.

The Engineering and Technical Lead is part of the Engineering & Technical function within the Civil Works Programme, you will be reporting to the CWP E&T Director.

The ideal candidate will…

- Have heavy experience within civil engineering & structural concrete, with an understanding as to how buildings come together, how they’re designed, and how they function.
- Hold proven experience of Integration of design within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Have strong working knowledge within the nuclear sector, working on large scale projects (or similar).
- Hold a degree within civils or similar.
- Have a structural qualification (desired but not essential).

What you’ll be doing

You’ll coordinate complex technical issues and transverse topics across various programs and disciplines, ensuring these activities progress effectively. You’ll assist in preparing technical documentation for procurement alongside the Contract Engineering Lead (CEL) and support SZC by facilitating technical discussions during the procurement phase before contracts are signed with the civil designer.

You’ll ensure that all technical issues are addressed within the Nuclear Island Civil works activities and manage the resolution of complex points within your scope. Additionally, you’ll support the CEL in coordinating with the civil designer and stakeholders to produce designs, review deliverables, and ensure they align with the validated schedule.

You’ll identify the need for updates to key documents and produce them in time for the civil designer's input data package. Managing workload and resources effectively, you’ll distribute tasks within your team, evaluate performance, and prepare design change papers for presentation in change committees. You’ll also verify the consistency of input data from previous projects, conduct technical verifications of design documents, and participate in maturity and gate reviews with stakeholders. Finally, you’ll contribute to CDM reviews and maintain the Design Risk Register.


Who you are

You will possess strong technical expertise in civil engineering, particularly in the seismic design of reinforced concrete structures. You should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, making technical decisions with or without support when necessary. You’ll have a solid reporting capability, including the ability to communicate effectively with senior management.

Your knowledge of CDM regulations will be essential, and you’ll excel at building collaborative relationships with various internal and external stakeholders. Maintaining high standards of safety and quality will be a priority, supported by excellent written and verbal communication skills. You should also demonstrate strong negotiation abilities and a delivery-focused approach to meet commitments and deadlines. What you’ll be doing
The Civil Building Lead is a product-focused role responsible for the development of specific structures, buildings, or cross-functional areas. As a Civil Building Lead for the Sizewell C (SZC) project, you’ll oversee the preparation and justification phases for building replication based on the Hinkley Point C (HPC) design. This involves collecting and preparing input data from both HPC and specific SZC sources, as well as coordinating and reviewing the calculation phase.
This position involves receiving, analysing, and verifying the consistency of input data, performing technical verifications on design notes, models, and drawings, and overseeing the anchorage designs by equipment suppliers. The role requires close collaboration with site-based engineering teams and subject matter experts to support seamless construction and coordination with civil designers and stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of key project components.
In addition, the Civil Building Lead will assess and implement design modifications requested by various engineering teams, contribute to project and contract risk registers, and prepare design change papers for presentation in change committees. You will support internal contract management teams in administering relevant contracts and proactively identify and report risks that could impact project timelines or costs within their scope.

Who you are
You will hold a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent and possess extensive experience in the field, along with in-depth knowledge of Eurocodes and Health & Safety regulations. Have a solid understanding of EPR engineering processes and project engineering procedures, coupled with a demonstrated ability to set, achieve, and uphold high standards in safety and quality.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role, as well as the ability to build effective relationships with various stakeholders. Excellent team management and people engagement skills are also critical. A working knowledge of French, familiarity with the ETC-C design code, and experience with software like PDMS and TEKLA are desirable.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll work closely with the Discipline Manager to prioritise safety and ensure high-quality design activities across the civil engineering group. This includes adherence to engineering standards, processes, tools, and methods outlined in the engineering manual. A key part of this role involves developing technical competencies within the civil discipline, with a strong emphasis on knowledge transfer between France and the UK for projects like Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC).As the Group Lead, you will review engineering documents for compliance with technical, nuclear safety, and environmental standards, and provide the Discipline Manager with insights on quality-related risks, workload, scheduling, resource allocation, competencies, and budgeting.
This role also requires a strategic focus on technical leadership, health and safety, work planning, succession management, quality assurance, and on-the-job skill development. Additionally, you will work closely with project operational managers when civil resources are integrated into project teams, ensuring alignment across the civil discipline, fostering collaboration with the other civil groups within the projects.

Who you are
You will hold a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent and possess extensive experience in the field, along with in-depth knowledge of Eurocodes and Health & Safety regulations. Have a solid understanding of EPR engineering processes and project engineering procedures, coupled with a demonstrated ability to set, achieve, and uphold high standards in safety and quality.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role, as well as the ability to build effective relationships with various stakeholders. Excellent team management and people engagement skills are also critical. A working knowledge of French, familiarity with the ETC-C design code, and experience with software like PDMS and TEKLA are desirable.

What you’ll be doing

You'll also produce and analyse performance indicators (KPIs), conduct audits to ensure compliance, and resolve configuration-related issues or non-conformance matters. Additionally, you will coordinate technical topics, participating in their arbitration and prioritisation, and lead technical discussions when necessary.

You will effectively communicate with stakeholders, you will facilitate regular updates, address concerns, and organise workshops or meetings on configuration management. You will also be involved in planning and organising meetings for the Technical Direction Committees, conducting pre-reviews, quality checks, and documenting meeting outcomes. This role plays a crucial part in managing the Edvance Design Change Process and enhancing HPC engineering performance. As part of the Configuration Management Team within Edvance / EPRe HPC Technical Direction, you will work closely with the Design Coordination Team, the Technical Director, and the deputy to drive key engineering and project objectives.


Who you are

You'll need an engineering degree or equivalent qualification, along with a solid understanding of EPR design and engineering processes. Your familiarity with UK laws, regulations, and nuclear industry best practices will be key, as will your ability to grasp complex technical subjects and provide accurate, clear analysis. What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead the delivery of piping work packages for UK nuclear projects, ensuring compliance with specifications, design processes, and quality assurance, including chairing kick-off meetings.

You’ll drive the progress of designs and issue resolution to meet the project delivery schedule while planning, coordinating, and reporting on team progress to area managers and scheduling teams.
